David Culley (former Bills QB coach) gone- to Ravens
eball replied to One Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dunno...I’ll take the guy “who is always open” (Beasley) as a safety net for Josh. I don’t believe I said the Bills shouldn’t continue to look at upgrading the WR corps...I said I don’t think it’s imperative they have a Julio Jones/AJ Green/Antonio Brown to be successful. -

Both Brown and Beasley are "playmaking/matchup-winning" options in the passing game. Foster looks like he's becoming one as well. I'd still like them to draft a guy like Harry or Deebo Samuel but I don't think they need a "true #1 WR" in the conventional sense of the phrase. -

It will kind of be like now. You'll still have fans clamoring for the backup and nitpicking the INT in a 4 TD game. -

I think it's clear in retrospect that Culley has been trying to "build his resume" so he can be considered for a HC position; he had no interest in hitching his wagon to Josh because he knew he'd be moving on. McD likely trusted hiring Culley because he was a Reid confidant. Anyway, McD realized the mistake and now the QB room is a complete 180 from a year ago. I really think Josh is going to hit the ground running (and passing) from Day 1. It may not be Mahomes-like but it's going to be impressive. -
I'm totally down with this as a rule change. Would be very exciting.

Right. And even though the situation was not perfect for Josh last year, there's no dispute the Bills needed to get their QB. Thankfully Josh appears to be unwavering in his confidence and didn't let things get him down. -

Agreed. But I think one thing we've seen is that McDermott is not unwilling to make changes. He gives people the chance to succeed or fail. -

Thought I'd add a little recent "inside info" to this thread. Won't reveal my source but the info is trustworthy; otherwise I wouldn't post it. Here are the salient points: 1 -- David Culley was "worthless" with respect to Josh's development (the comment "didn't know what he was doing" was uttered) 2 -- Neither Peterman nor McCarron were helpful 3 -- Once he joined the team Derek Anderson became the de facto QB coach 4 -- The Bills offered Jordan Palmer the QB coach job but Jordan "is enjoying his life the way it is" -- enter Dorsey Take it for what it's worth. We certainly saw the development in Josh towards season end. -
This has been a terrible year for Kansas, by Kansas standards. I had them losing to Auburn in every bracket I entered. Really love how Wofford gave Kentucky everything they had.

Does Jake Fisher Signing mean the end of Patrick DiMarco
eball replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not a "horrible" question since Fisher was used a bit as an H-back in Cinci...but I think a lot will happen between now and September so predicting roster spots for these 1-year FA signings is a little premature. -
Special teams ace. The Bills are serious about fixing ST, what with the Roberts signing and this one.

Whew! Heels got a late wake-up call but pulled a Virginia and dominated after the half. Movin' on... My upset special Oregon continued their roll...and now because of the UC-Irvine upset we've got a 12/13 game for the S16.

If Allen is real deal, bills make playoffs
eball replied to QBorBust2018's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So a friend of mine (from Buffalo -- huge Bills fan) owns a winery in SoCal...yesterday none other than Josh Allen was at his place for lunch and a tasting as part of a wedding party. My friend got a chance to hang out with him a bit and said that while Josh was diplomatic about it, he's very excited about the FA haul and "is only talking Super Bowl." Interestingly, my friend said Josh also talked up Metcalf. Still can't see the Bills going that direction at 9, but of course a QB wants more weapons. Anyway, nothing earth shattering here -- just that our QB loves wine and is very optimistic (and confident) about what is to come. And in the words of my friend, "he's huge!" -

NFL committee proposes revamp of instant replay
eball replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Revising OT is simple. Each team possesses the ball at least once, and the 2-pt conversion is removed as an option. You need to give each team a chance with the ball because the team that wins the coin toss has a statistically significant advantage over their opponent (roughly 60% win rate). Why allow the bounce of a coin on the turf to play a major role in the outcome? It makes no sense. I suggest removing the 2-pt conversion as an option in OT because having that option favors the team that scores second. Make those two changes and I think you've got an OT format everyone can live with. -
Cj Anderson is available beano get ur done

Yes. The signing of Gore means Ivory is almost certainly gone and they will draft another RB (hopefully in 3rd-5th round). -

What do you think the Bills record will be this season?
eball replied to BmarvB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If that schitty team from 2017 could win 9 games, anything less than 10 this season will be a disappointment.
