Sure, and while they’re at it they can eliminate HD cameras, slow motion replay, and video boards in the stadiums. ”Let’s all bury our heads in the sand and allow correctable mistakes to stand!” It’s a one year rule. I’d like to see how it plays out. It’s not adding challenges and it will be up to a replay official with under 2:00 in each half. Sounds like a reasonable plan. The solution should not be to avoid technology.

Who did the Browns rank as the #2 Qb in the 2018 Draft?

What can Brown do for you? -
You're only embarrassing yourself with this talk. The Bills were embarrassed as a franchise? Please tell that to the 10 free agents Beane just signed. It's about time we had a GM and HC who actually stood up for Buffalo and rebutted the pot shots. It's a shame many of them come from the team's own fans.

AB continuing to bring up Buffalo completely reeks of someone who is upset that Buffalo didn't want to cave in to his demands. The dude is an egomaniac. He's "celebrating" going to the Raiders. The whole thing is rather entertaining, and I don't for one moment think it's reflecting poorly upon Buffalo or the Bills.

Can't forget about that O line, baby! Of course you knew that. C'mon, Ivory was fine. Made a couple of really big plays in the passing game as an outlet for Josh. Find me a RB who would have run well behind that line last year. I think Jim Brown himself would have averaged around 3.5.

Sean McDermott interview at NFL Owner’s Meetings

Corrected for accuracy!

And your solution is to now berate other posters and call them homers because they look for optimism? Curious.

Sean McDermott interview at NFL Owner’s Meetings

Well, it beats this: Amazing what happens when you know you won't have to lie about your team being ready to compete. -
Thank you. And I don't believe my initial response in this thread said anything different. Some folks just have an axe to grind.

Dude. Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. Just give it a rest.

Uhh, you're still being simple.

Running a dumbed down gimmicky offense that was exposed in said playoffs. Anyway, you're wrong in saying there is NO correlation between intelligence and playing QB at a high level. Regardless, why is it wrong to be excited about a QB (Allen) who has arguably the best set of physical tools and is also clearly intelligent? You're right, we should just poo-poo everything and wait for him to fail. They use the damn test for a reason.

I wouldn't say it "has nothing to do with" decision-making. And if you read my response I didn't say Josh will become a QB like those others...I said it's ridiculous to say he can't when we can see he has the brain for it.

Mcdermott's thoughts on Bills aging backfield.
eball replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TaskersGhost suggests McD and Beane "don't understand offense very well." That's an ignorant statement but I was trying to be nice. Of course the players need to play. -
I didn't even know Josh's score but could tell from the way he speaks and interacts he's a smart guy. Those suggesting Josh can't be a cerebral QB like Manning/Brady/Brees are talking out their arses.

I think it's reasonable to wait out this season before coming to that conclusion. The free agency activity this year doesn't support your hypothesis. -
VIDEO: Brandon Beane Speaks at Owner's Meeting
eball replied to BillyWhiteShows's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read/listen to quotes and interviews like this from Beane and then shake my head at those who are still critical of what he did in free agency last year. It's so obvious last year was an expected "lost" season and the primary goals were to get rid of dead cap, draft the QB, add talent via the draft, and then survive. Yes, Star and Murphy were signed to deals expecting they will be on the roster for a few years but otherwise the signings were bargain basement shopping. Go back and listen to soundbites from Beane and McD prior to the season -- there were numerous references to taking a "step back" from the unexpected playoff season of 2017. Now if you disagree there was a need for a rebuild when Beane and McD arrived you're entitled to your opinion, but if you accept that they had a plan it's refreshing to see it executed with such precision. It also appears to me the Pegulas are learning (i.e., not meddling) and Beane is the sharpest guy we've had at GM since Polian. -
David Culley (former Bills QB coach) gone- to Ravens

There's no "beat" here. The "always open" comment was a direct quote from someone who played with Beasley. -
David Culley (former Bills QB coach) gone- to Ravens

Umm, no, I wasn't. I'm simply referring to a player (Beasley) who was underutilized in Dallas despite having an ability to get open and be a safety net for a QB. That's it. -
