Bills (1-0) at Jets (0-1) Postgame thread
eball replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Has anyone told @C.Biscuit97 that Jerry Hughes had 1.5 sacks today? I mean, I know he's overpaid and all but I think that was a decent game. -
I don't think it's too soon. In one half of play Singletary showed us exactly why they felt comfortable releasing Shady for another roster spot.

I'm sure ScottLaw will be around soon with some explanations for why the Jets gave it away and the Bills didn't deserve it. -
Gameday!!! Let's Go, Buffalo!

By the way, EJ Manuel is doing a nice job on the ACC Network!

Gregg Williams ready to shock the league with Jets' pass rush
eball replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wait, you're telling me that Gregggggg Williams is being obnoxiously overconfident in front of the media? That confirms it -- it's a typical day. -
Antonio Brown RELEASED, signed by PATS

I read somewhere that Mayock would not agree to be "mic'd up" during filming. -

Can't wait to see who takes a chance on him now. Any team would be stupid to give him anything more than a one-year "prove it" deal. -
I see lots of handoffs and quick passes in Daboll's 1st half gameplan tomorrow. Don't give Gregggggg's blitzes a chance to get to Josh and after the running game and short passing game slow them down, play-action in the 2nd half could lead to some big plays.

Interview with Beane - his McCoy explanation
eball replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, I believe you're onto something here. Most of us accurately predicted that Peterman would fall on his face and wanted Josh to "win" the job in the worst way. Beane was doing what he needed to do to try and get fans enthused about the season. He, the coaches, and the players knew Josh wasn't really "ready" yet, and we saw that in his first stint as a starter. By coming back from injury and playing at a higher level Josh earned the trust and confidence of his teammates and coaches but was still obviously a work in progress. This year Beane doesn't really need to heap praise upon Josh and if he did I think it would feel misplaced because we as fans haven't seen Josh take that "next step" yet. We've heard the talk of his work ethic, leadership, and how "it's his team now" but we all are holding our collective breaths until the real games begin. Beane is doing the right thing (I think) by recognizing that. -

I don't know, man...how many times can Beane say "we know it's a results-based business" before you understand what that means? -
Their schedule is the very reason why they could be overlooking the Bills.

Interview with Beane - his McCoy explanation
eball replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok, I just read the article. I don't for a moment think Beane came off as "lukewarm" on Josh. He is repeating what he and McD and Daboll have said about Josh all summer long. He's stating facts -- Josh needs to improve in certain areas but he has been working his butt off. It's funny how people can interpret things in completely different ways. I don't think Vic was negative either -- he was asking some smart questions that a lot of us have. I actually think Vic is buying in to "the process" and is looking forward to covering the team this year. -

Yeah, man, you just don't get it. And besides, why is it important to you to hear the GM or coach say that? Do you fear that they don't want to get to the playoffs or win a Super Bowl? I think Shaw laid it out very well in his responses above. -

Does Mark Davis ever look in a mirror? I mean, seriously...ever? -
Good for Dion! Dude is primed for a big turnaround year. Love that Josh and Tremaine earned it as well.

Absolutely. And you've got to feel sorry for Del Rio. It's like dating a girl who tells you if her ex-boyfriend ever is available again she's leaving you. -
Thanks for the 6th, Bill!
