Week 1, Cards v. Bills - Predict the Score

That is amazingly specific. You need help. 😂 -
Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Game Week Thread
eball replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
To be fair...do we really know what we have in Damar? Pre-heart issue he was a young player learning the position who had his ups and downs. Last year was a wash, and an accomplishment simiply to get back on the field. But he has had three (four?) years in the system now and by all accounts had a terrific camp. Can we at least pretend that perhaps he has matured and learned the position and is ready to contribute?- 491 replies

Joe Marino: 1/4 of Bills 2024 salary cap is dead cap!
eball replied to JaCrispy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pardon my French, but bullsh**. Beane reshuffled the cards, but it's not a throwaway season by a longshot. -

See my comments above. I don't consider the Chiefs to be markedly better than the Bills overall. -
I agree for the most part with your second paragraph. Not so much the first. Nobody in Buffalo complained about Diggs his first two years here.

Except that's not how the analysis works. Beane could take the Diggs hit this year because he reshuffled the roster and we suddenly became a lot younger (and cheaper). Are you honestly going to tell me the Chiefs' roster looks markedly better on paper? -
While I think some fans tend to overrate their players, there are many who underrate them as well. I find that there are more of the latter in this forum. Where we agree (I think) is that Josh alone makes this a team opponents fear. I just think the supporting cast is more talented than a lot of others do.

They ALL will. The goal of this offense is that all of the receivers can play all of the positions. I’d go so far as to say the actual depth chart is pretty useless.
-
Bye Stef. See ya in Houston.

Do you have a specific definition for “star” other than All-Pro? I’d say the Bills have a number of guys on the offense besides Josh I’d call stars — Cook, Kincaid, Dawkins — several more who are above-average and/or rising — Shakir, Samuel — and a couple of rookies who could surprise — Coleman, Davis. On defense, Ed Oliver is a star. Taron Johnson is a star. Rasul Douglas is a star. Terrell Bernard is a star. Rousseau looks primed to become a star. Daquan Jones is, at worst, above-average. Benford is above-average. The front seven of this defense should be fierce. The only place we’re unproven is at safety, and I’ll put my faith in McD’s ability to coach up the secondary. They’ll win at least 12.

As long as someone reminds him to wear his cleats we’ll be fine.

Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Game Week Thread
eball replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seriously. I took a few days away from this place and wish I hadn’t come back. Maybe a nice solid win will tone down all of the doomsday predictors. This is a damn good, well coached football team led by the 2nd best player in the league. The national media can sleep on them all they want, but fans who truly follow the team shouldn’t.- 491 replies

All kidding aside, I think this move speaks to McDermott’s continued growth as a head coach. Thinking he is just setting Babich up to be a scapegoat is a loser mentality. McD really does look to develop and promote good people. I love the energy Babich brings and am excited to see this Bills defense next week.
-
@Bill from NYC is already typing that as we speak!
-
Ok, great, we suck, and McD will never get it done. Everyone happy now?
-
I think it really is that simple. Nobody wants to hear it but LUCK MATTERS, especially in the playoffs.

I think if they weren't so deep at CB Hardy would have made the 53...but they were clearly panicking about not having a trustworthy return man when Hardy kept catching punts inside his 10 and Hamler was fumbling and bumbling. Definitely think Hardy has a future in this league, and perhaps with the Bills.
-
Everybody knows that drafting is an exact science and every draft pick should pan out. Shorter was a 5th round developmental prospect, not a Day.1 or Day 2 projected starter. Give me a freaking break. The draft gurus around here who think they could do better...smh.
-
Huh? If Maye tries to play like Allen he'll be decapitated. I watched Maye at UNC. I think his ceiling in the NFL is around a top 10-15 guy...which is very good, but he's not elite.
-
I think the bottom line is that they needed a reliable returner and Hardy showed poor decision making in the preseason. There is no doubt he is a promising player to develop as a CB and hopefully nobody claims him so they can get him on the PS.

Bills acquire Jets DB and return man Brandon Codrington
eball replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
There's your kick returner, ladies and germs... -
He played that much because they weren't playing Cook, Davis, or Johnson, and Evans got hurt. He was literally their last RB. It's why Hamler ran in the TD late.
-
I love that it appears Solomon has made this team. An exciting young EDGE with speed, bend, and powerful hands.

I don't like players whose names are in the wrong order.
