Sam Darnold and other QB resurrections

Not even close. Brees was a rising star in SD and then had the injury. -

Right? Like his size had anything to do with that OL stepping on his leg. -

You're kidding, right? Have you been in the 300s at the current stadium lately? Some people will say absolutely anything to criticize this new building. -

Week 8 - Bills at Seahawks Game Week Thread

Geno has been playing like a top 10 NFL QB for a couple of years now. Good thing the Bills' pass D is their strength. In this game, however, the Bills could wind up with 200 yards rushing. The Hawks' run D is that bad. -
Yeah, I’m not criticizing the move or saying Hopkins is washed. I just don’t think it does all that much, although it arguably makes an already strong team a little bit stronger.
-
Splash move that will have the media and fans going bonkers but probably doesn’t actually move the needle that much. He’s not the player he was but will command some attention from defenses and may open things up for Worthy. I saw a funny tweet: The Chiefs went from being a team that will probably win the Super Bowl to a team that will probably win the Super Bowl.

It’s not intentional. It’s human nature. And yes, the Pats*** frequently sleepwalked through the early regular season.

For me, this is it. It’s a long season and the Bills want to be peaking in January, not October. The slow starts are maddening to us as fans but at least we know the team has another gear.

The show's peak was Kay Adams/Kyle Brandt/Peter Schrager/Nate Burleson. It's something to have on in the background as I start my workday...but if it went away tomorrow I don't think I'd really notice.

the Daboll/Schoen regime - on the brink, it seems

You think the Bills' OL is just "average?" Anybody have the latest rankings? -

Yeah…I mean, to say investing heavily in the DL is “outdated” doesn’t really make sense to me. As long as they are playing tackle football games will be won and lost in the trenches. We all want speedsters at WR and CB. I’d venture to say Beane is no different. How’s Miami doing right now with all of their speed when they can’t keep their QB upright? As far as “overinvesting” in RBs…have we? Beane’s strategy actually seems to be pretty smart. He’s used a 2nd and a couple of 3rds on RBs but we aren’t paying any 2nd contracts so those players are very affordable…and right now the Bills have a fantastic RB room that is making a difference on the field. Anyway…I know everyone has his/her own opinion and there are a group of fans on this board who disagree with just about everything McD and Beane do…but damn, this is an elite franchise that has just been very unlucky in the playoffs. It’s not as if we are lagging behind the league. -

Serious question: precisely what roster-building philosophy that has been proven to be outdated is Beane still pushing? -
Savage take. You sound fun.

Week 8 - Bills at Seahawks Game Week Thread
eball replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Seahawks are 4-3 and leading their division so they will certainly draw the Bills’ attention. But thinking they are a team to be “feared” is BBFS at its finest. They squeaked by Bo Nix in his first start, beat the hapless Pats on a late FG, and defeated Miami in their first game without Tua. They then LOST to the Giants (who are perhaps the 2nd worst team in football). SF abused them, and the Lions beat them by double digits. So they won in Atlanta yesterday? Good for them. Atlanta is another overrated team. The Bills do one thing better than anyone in the league since 2020. They win the games they are supposed to win, and they usually do it comfortably. No games in the NFL are “easy” and you can say all you want about McDermott, but his teams rarely lose when they’re not supposed to. -
Wow. Some of you really hate optimism. Well done to go back 12 years because I'm in your head so much!
-
Several of us thought the Miami hype was b.s. before the season started. Their defense got worse. Yes, losing their QB hurt, but they still aren't the best team in the division.
-
Except that’s not how odds making works. An 8-2 Bills squad playing at home will not be an underdog to any team in the league.
-
Of course, and it’s the team’s job to view it that way. Not the fans’.
-
Watson was done two years ago.
-
Not if the Bills are 8-2 going in, which is certainly possible since the next three games are Seattle, Miami, and Indy.

…who expected that? The Fish are technically only 2.5 games back but the Bills hold the tiebreaker. They get Tua back next week but they are not a team to be feared The Jests are a certifiable mess after losing yet again; whatever “boost” Woody Johnson was hoping to gain by firing Saleh has backfired. It’s always interesting to look at how the season progresses when various teams are pumped up (Fish, Jests) in the offseason and others are “downgraded” (Bills). After running through an early season gauntlet the path to a 5th consecutive division title looks remarkably clear. 5 home (Fish, Chiefs, 49ers, Pats, Jets) and 5 road (Seattle, Colts, Rams, Detroit, Pats) games left. They’ll be favored in all but the game at Detroit. Hell of a job by Beane retooling this roster on the fly, and then seeing what he needed to do to make it even better and taking advantage of a dumpster fire in Cleveland to grab Cooper. It is a super fun time to be a Bills fan.

Cheers and Seinfeld are two shows I can still watch at any time, and completely forget that they are pre-internet and smartphone. They truly stand the test of time.

Rapp and Hamlin are the secondary — which is exactly what I said. Dorian has speed. Bernard has speed. The Bills’ secondary lacks speed, not their overall D. Which is EXACTLY what I said.
