The Fish have a schitty D. So much more to it than just looking at a W-L record.
-
Sounds like some guys who post here.

Tua is significantly better, IMO. The only real similarities in the pros are that they’ve both been blessed with some awesome weapons and offensive minded HCs.
-
And remember, this is a guy who played at freaking Alabama. And the supposed “America’s Team” in Dallas. And a success-starved fan base in Cleveland. We’re different. And better. Amari is a reflective, intellectual guy. He sees it and he gets it.

Transition was the right word. The words that were being thrown around in the media, however, were “rebuilding” and “taking a step back.” The national media, who don’t know any better, and some of the local media and fans, who should know better, simply saw “names” leaving the roster (Diggs, Morse, Hyde, Poyer, Davis, White) and didn’t see that it was the appropriate time for those guys to go and make room for the next phase. Were there legitimate concerns about the WR room? Yes! Thankfully it appears that Shakir was indeed ready to step up, Coleman has been a pleasant surprise…and Beane recognized the issue and made a key move to acquire Cooper. Hollins has been better than anyone expected. This is fun ride, and I’m here for all of it.

Holy **** we finally agree on something.

“This is the first time in like a long time that I’ve actually felt joy from winning this game,” Cooper said, “from just the way we played, from having so many guys on the team who are playmakers, and they come up and they show up when their number is called. Collectively as a group, it’s just amazing.” “It’s kind of a different place, too, Buffalo, compared to some of the other places I’ve been to. It’s a tight-knit group I would say. A lot of the guys go out together. They hang around each other 24/7, and it truly shows up on the field. It truly does.” “When you’re a kid and you’re dreaming of football, this is the stage you dream about,” Cooper said. “You don’t really dream about the games that aren’t meaningful. You’re dreaming about the meaningful games against the best teams. And so we were in it. It doesn’t come around that often, especially if you aren’t on a very good team. Any player who’s been in this league a long time, most of the guys haven’t always been on good teams. It’s just how it swings in this league.” “The Josh Allen experience, with this magnitude, it’s been phenomenal, man,” Cooper said. “Like I said before, he’s a great player. The old adage ‘Big-time players make big-time plays in big-time situations,’ and that’s exactly what he did.” “It kind of reminded me of – I was going to tell my friend this after the game – it’s like Little League, Pop Warner,” Cooper said. “It’s a Florida thing; it’s a Florida experience. But when you win the championship, you have to go up the road on your way to winning the national championship. And when you go up the road, the fans get crazier and crazier. I mean, they put rocks in glass bottles and shake them up, and everybody collectively gets so loud, and that’s what it reminded me of for some reason. But, yeah, the environment is phenomenal, for sure.”

The Browns are doing their best to give the Bills higher seeding

I think I agree with this. The Bungles in particular scare the bejesus out of me because I remember the game two playoffs ago. Definite PTSD over that one. The Ravens are dangerous but I throw out the earlier game this year…in our other McD/Harbaugh matchups we have fared well. Of the other teams the Bolts have the best QB, and that’s always a concern, but dammit, these Bills are dangerous too. -
Yet there are still plenty of “experts” out there beating the drum for Purdy. I myself think he’s a mid-level NFL starter incapable of putting a team on his back. He has been blessed with some of the best talent around. That team would be literally unstoppable with a top-10 QB.

Giants are releasing QB Daniel Jones (future backup to Josh Allen)

Seriously. What coach does that to the guy? The Daboll schtick wore thin on me even during his 1st year there. -
I don’t know why you’d think that. They seem to be getting stronger, not the opposite. They destroyed Atlanta, a supposed “up and coming” team. The AFC West is becoming what everyone thought the AFC East would be this year…a legitimate three-team division.

I've already forgotten why I entered this thread...

Ahh, the classic comeback of a purported "truther." I don't think everything the Bills do is perfect...I just look for the silver lining and I don't pretend that I know more than they do about certain players and coaches. I also don't "crusade" about issues and I frequently revise my position as I process information. I'm very open-minded -- something I see too rarely on this board. If you don't see the value Dawson Knox provides to this team that's your problem, not his. His contract isn't keeping the Bills from doing anything they need to do. You're very quick to label players as this or that -- I still remember your anti-Josh crusade that you carried until you started looking like a clown. -

Too many people get hung up on the numbers. He has not been asked to be the #1 receiving TE but he plays more snaps than Kincaid. He is, in effect, an additional offensive lineman who can also get down the field and catch. He's valuable to this team in a number of ways and his contract is not a burden. Like I said...bad take. -
Fair enough.

My only "beef" with your comments -- and it's a minor one -- is that you consistently want to "exclude" the Allen draft pick when evaluating Beane as a GM. He's the guy who evaluated all of the QBs and targeted Allen, when so many "experts" (yourself included) thought Allen would be a bust. The guy who chose the most important player in Bills history deserves to receive full credit when evaluating his overall body of work.
-
I see what you did there...I think most savvy NFL analysts agree Jones has built a talented roster. It's his management of his coaching staff that seems to leave a lot to be desired.

The cumulative chart is going to piss off a lot of people around here…

Haven’t read the entire thread but the Fish play twice before we play the Niners. If they lose both we clinch the division before we walk onto the field. If they lose one of two we clinch the division with a W.

The Browns this season are the best example I’ve seen of why you can rarely mark a division game as an “easy win.” I don’t think the Steelers are as good as their record but the Ravens are. The Bills’ last three games will not be a cakewalk, although I’m glad two are at home and it’s possible the Jests will have completely given up by then. -
If I understand the rules correctly, CBS and Fox may protect one game a week against flexing. Can’t imagine CBS not protecting a game that features two of the top 3-4 teams in the league, in the national 4 pm window.

turns out America likes watching Allen-Mahomes games

The parallels between KC/BUF and NE/IND are pretty striking. If you’re a fan of NFL football you never want(ed) to miss either one.
