  1. Yeah dude, you are here a lot just like me. Just enjoy it. I have been watching them since the 1960s - so your 1990s tenure leaves you many years of suffering before you throw up your hands. This management group knows what their doing. Whether it is Allen they want or someone else (including Rosen, who I really don't want), they will have done their diligence. We are allowed to be excited about whomever they pick until performance on the field proves them wrong. No one knows who the right call is.
  2. Sadly I suspect that you are correct.
  3. Given the Browns sordid QB history I would be shocked if they take Allen given that his value is significantly based on projecting future performance. They need more of a sure thing, a higher floor Allen is the guy I would love the Bills to get, and at 12 would be perfect. I have not dared to dream Darnold, but if Browns take Allen or Mayfield - get 2 done for Darnold! But I strongly suspect this is smoke.
  4. I think they stay at 1 and take a QB unless they can get to 2 and know the QB they want will be there.
  5. I hope he goes all in for Rosen at 9 and spends his draft capital, and we get Allen at 12. Then we get some edge rushers that can drive Brady and then Rosen into the rubber pellets at The Ralph.
  6. Based on little more than Allen's Senior Bowl and Rosen's concussions -- jump for joy.
  7. Browns were willing to go what - a 2 and a 3 for McCarron?
  8. I completely agree with the OP. If our admin likes one of them well enough to make them a high pick I am all in. All the pre-draft stuff is hogwash. Long shots make it, medium shots make it and sure-shots misfire plenty. So all anyone has is an educated guess. I trust McDermott and Bean's educated guess as much as anyone's whether or not their guy works out (if they pick one). Why? Because I believe they will have done all the homework they can which is all any fan can ask. Sometimes the best laid plans are not good enough. For now, if they take a guy (even hot tub boy), I will be all in and keep the faith unless and until proven otherwise.
  9. I would love that draft. Assuming Esch's neck is okay.
  10. Would love Smith. While I have no confidence he will ultimately be a starter in the league, I am not nearly as done with Peterman as the popular press seems to be. Like McCarron he is a worker and competitor. I think Beane and McDermott like him. And his catastrophic NFL start was a lot like his collegiate start, which he overcame. Agree we need to draft a QB with talent, but don't dislike McCarron and Peterman. Would be fun to get Smith if they really like someone like Rudolph, Luletta or White (and are not just settling)!
  11. I have it on what I consider pretty good authority that Jets very much like Rosen so I don't believe he is off their board. I posted this once before and a poster said "no you don't." Er, okay, believe what you will. I stand by my comment that they like him. I have no scoop on Jets view of Mayfield and my Jets fans friends insist they love him. If they like both Mayfield and Rosen a great deal it explains why they were comfortable going to three far in advance (likely presuming/knowing Darnold or Allen are #1). And I have no idea whether they like Rosen or Mayfield more. I hope they like Rosen -- my wish for the Bills is Allen and I don't want Rosen one bit. Having said that the Rosen vs. Allen debate is greatly polarizing our fine board. Can we settle on hoping for Baker at #5 or 6? I have not heard much Mayfield hate. I would be delighted and willing to let go of my largely unfounded passion for Allen.
  12. Would make me distraught. My bet - 3 years and out of the league. I suspect he can't and won't take the pounding. He will be accurate on the tennis court. Time will tell. You know no better than I do whether this will happen. And I am not rooting for it to happen to the kid, but I hope we don't take him. Rosen scares me the most of any quarterback we might consider.
  13. I don't know - what made the hatters mad?
  14. Funny - bunch of us going to be unhappy no matter what. Rosen would make me SO SAD!
  15. Rudolph has excellent hair. Richie would give Rosen a swirly just for fun. Rosen is a girly-man with excellent passing mechanics. Pass!
  16. Allen is the man, no reason for worried face - save that for if they be thinking hot tub boy.
  17. Ground up - hello, Mr. Gettelman? Whatever your heart desires my friend!
  18. Agreed. Same with Rosen, Mayfield, Darnold and all the others. As far as trusting the process.
  19. Go get us some Carson Allen. Josh Wentz in the house! Man among boys at Senior Bowl in 2nd half. The answer to all our dreams. Get 'er done!
  20. Go Allen, it's your birthday, go Allen! Freezer time.
  21. There we go - bring in the gunslinger. Forget the other Josh PLEASE!
  22. Smerlas once said when they were chasing Kenny O'Brien of the Jets outside the pocket he would literally squeal, and then eat the ball and take the sack to protect his always-high completion percentage. Not sure why, maybe because Mommy drove his hot tub to him, but Rosen strikes me as equally squeal worthy. I fear, however, that instead of taking sacks like O'Brien he will start chucking it up for INTs. And when he is criticized for INTs he blames others and also starts holding it longer and until he repeatedly gets his head driven into the ground. Thrice concussed he then calls it quits in his third year and goes for an MBA to go with his economics degree. Just one person's nightmare, but NO THANKS. Gimme anybody else PLEASE. I highly, highly doubt he is our guy, but if he is I will support him whole-heartedly and pray! I fear bad things with him . . . . please become a JET! If Rosen slides there will be a reason he slid.
