Tre White will be able to tell McDermott and Beane whether he is radioactive in the clubhouse or manageable. If he is manageable, I would go as high as a 4th. He is a really talented and has something to prove. You know in New England they would turn him around and control his "attitude". Maybe he had an attitude problem because Marrone is a turd.

Dion Dawkins or Matt Milano
MarlinTheMagician replied to elijah's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I realize it is the structure of the question, but they are going to keep both. Betcha. It is not an either or, both are part of McBeane's early core. There are lots of others that could make room if needed, but I doubt it will be needed. Also, it seems people are presuming the same money. What if Dawkins is $18.5 million and Milano is $11 million? All the comments on LT being a "premium position" are of course right on, but filling it will come at a premium price. Question should be who is a better value, not who is more valuable! -
What a classy good guy! Left a message, sure enough, he called me back. I can't believe it. A gentleman with class. And a favorite forevermore for me. Wishing him every good wish to lock down that starting cornerback job as long as he wants it. I would not be against him given all he has overcome. Says the defense is really close knit. Loves living in Buffalo. Go Bills! Go Levi!!

Beane and McDermott know what they are doing. Like the two receivers idea (one vet stud like Sanders or Green and one stud (preferably tall) to break in from the draft); Edge! One stud for the defense, FA or draft. I think we need two running backs - a hammer and a speedy scat/gadget guy. Punter! O-Line depth, maybe one upgrade; Corner depth

10-4 Pats vs. 10-4 Bills in week 16
MarlinTheMagician replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think if you switch our win in OPs analysis to we beat Balt and lose to Dallas, Pats can go 2-2 (losing to Chiefs and Texans), we then have the tiebreaker on Pats if we beat them, no? Slightly less unlikely. Pats not as all-world as usual, and perhaps we get up for Baltimore at home. Still pretty darn unlikely, I know. Browns game hurt indeed. -
RUN DEFENSE FIX. YOU ARE WELCOME COACH
MarlinTheMagician replied to kirkwoodus13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Though I admit the post is somewhat difficult to hack through, I had the same thought as the OP. Neal really seemed to be more stout when tackling, and equal in coverage. Same with Johnson vs. Wallace, but Wallace is one of my faves and I would hate to see him take a step back. Unless needed for the good of our Bills! -
We would be 10-6, but we are going to rise up, be mad about the Buffalo game and beat NE at Gillette -- so 11-5 and on a roll. Offense slowly gels and will grow a good amount, and D figures out how to stop the run and reverts to stellar-unit form. We win one playoff game this year, and look out next. Book it!

Josh Allen - week one report card
MarlinTheMagician replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A+ for Allen from me. I know the shortcomings, but I want that guy Allen on my team. -
I don't really see him as a starter - more of a rotation. But count him as three if you like, but deduct half an Allen. He was not a starter last year for nearly half our games. You get my point though - it is a whole new offense. There are no disqualifications with a road W vs. division opponent. A-all-the-way baby!

One more on Milano and Edmunds. Bell caught six passes all day, for 32 yards and a 5.3 average per catch. That is a shutdown. I can't believe a single one of us would not have said "okay, great" if that stat line was offered before the game. And rushing: 17 for 61, 3.5 per carry. Didn't he go for like 250 yards last time he played us? Nuff said for me! Looked it up. Compare Bell vs. Rex's defense in 2016 - 298 freaking yards! Bell turned in a historic performance against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, carrying the Steelers to a 27-20 victory. He rushed for 236 yards, which is the most in franchise history. The previous high was 223 by Willie Parker. Additionally, that’s the highest total ever allowed by the Bills. Ricky Williams rushed for 228 against Buffalo in 2002. The shifty back also added 62 yards receiving, giving him 298 from scrimmage for the game. Bell scored all three of Pittsburgh's touchdowns.

Allen's 4th fourth quarter comeback
MarlinTheMagician replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh Allen has ice in his veins. Did you see the quote from Zo? Said something like "were still in this" to Allen. Allen told the vet "I've got this." And he did! -
Discipline Was Improved Today
MarlinTheMagician replied to thronethinker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree, and it was a big deal. Getting rid of dumb, selfish players helps. The team showed great character today, hung together and stayed smart when chips were down. -
Can't agree on Milano at all - but the rest, as one poster said, reflected the rollercoaster ride. I thought Milano had a great game, would have had a pick except their tight end caught the ball he batted. He was all over the place. Watch the replay of Bell's touchdown, looked like Milano expected help to the outside from Hyde. He is too classy to ever say it, and we will never know for sure. But we can't assume that was his fault, he played inside leverage. Shaq - what a game. And this is a game where I think all of McD's "character" and "family" work really showed its value. When down, they hung tough, stayed disciplined and continued to believe. That can be worth more than a blowout. Our team has character and is not bone-headed. How refreshing after 50 years of watching the Bills blow it at the end through dumb penalties, turnovers and stupid play calls. By Bell's standards, they shut him down. 17 for 61 - ain't much. The speed of Tre Edmunds (who played great), Milano (who I thought played great too), and the grit of Poyer up in the box had a lot to do with that! This defense could be really special - Jets have a lot of weapons and Darnold is pretty good. I don't think this is the same old Jets, they just spent $100 million on talent, after all.

Bills Have Worked out FA WR Bennie Fowler
MarlinTheMagician replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree need QB and WR on same page and that takes some reps. Brandon Reilly and Allen should have some chemistry from camp. He seems to get open, and he cannot possibly be any worse than the play we have seen so far. Would love to see him have a shot.
