I think bringing in brown, bease, lawson, phillips... this was the year of getting the band back together. We flamed out in the playoffs. That era needs to end. Poyer likely walks. I would not be surprised if edmunds did as well simply because tagging him will kill any potential for the team to make moves in free agency.

Well 2 of those investments didn't even play. Another barely played with a bum shoulder and was outsnapped by Ankou. I'm not sure Settle is really an investment as thats sort of the going rate for a depth DT. Not to say that the guys that did play couldn't have done more. The only thing consistent about oliver is how he will get pushed around a few times a season. Epenesa plays slow. Basham plays small. Rousseau isn't a quick twitch player, so he needs more beef in the middle collapsing the pocket. They truly looked like a unit that just ran out of gas - even with a rotation.

I wouldn't look into it too much. Much like how this board is devolved into everyone wanting to fire everyone, in the heat of the moment he was upset and angry. Allen was trying to ignore it to stay focused on what he can control.

I think his issue is he sees chase/jefferson/kupp etc. get schemed open.

I don't know if he's back but i also don't know that we do much here and try and bring in a few UDFAs. Late in the first is a good spot to get a 5 year contract value. So look at a player who can make an impact (on field and financial) over that value. A tackle if the value is there would be my hope. Many have potential to kick inside early on, have plus athleticism, and can push spencer brown to play better.

CMC is a great player... And he might be - the 5th most important player in that offense? Maybe 6? Deebo - YAC machine that makes that offense go. Built like a running back, and impossible to tackle. Aiyuk - Good route runner - and also a good blocker. Trent Williams - Possibly the best LT in football Kittle - All pro tight end, fantastic blocker that helps the run game go Having said that - and on the topic specific to Buffalo. Since we'll be picking fairly late (my guess is somewhere around 31 since Miami lost their pick), i don't mind saying "this guy is head and shoulders so much higher than every other RB in this draft, and previous drafts; i'd be stupid NOT to pick him"

I know an active 3T is super important to pass rushing in our defense, but the defense thrives with edmunds taking away space in the middle and he seems to just be coming into his own. Oliver extension makes sense to lower that cap hit.

One of the worst offensive lines in the league. How do you call an offense that cannot run the ball at all? Makes it hard for 3rd downs, and hard in the red zone.

Can make some cap room but yea - oliver would have to be moved to keep both edmunds and poyer. I think the draft needs to be fairly offense heavy - WR somewhere in there, a C/G, a tackle, maybe a TE or RB (depends on hines - big pay for a small contribution). Whoever of - Poyer, Edmunds, Oliver that you plan to move on from needs to be replaced as well. You can dip your toes in FA, and people will play for less to come play here now, but they needs a good draft to infuse the offense with some young talent.

Yep - buffalo is not a bad place... in fact i bet its a lot like cincinnati. Sports wise we both have good football teams after... many years of not so good football teams. Their baseball team stinks. Our hockey team is turning it around a bit, but stilll... stinks. Not that big of cities. Rust belt. Honestly if they beat us i want them to win it. I hate KC. He'll be 32 next year - which isn't a death sentence at the position. I'd personally rather keep him than oliver.

I like Buffalo to win 30something to 20something. Long 4th quarter TD drive puts this from a 1 score 2 score game.

Honestly the success is usually from the inside push. Thats what tennessee had with Haynesworth, Detroit with Suh/Fairley, Buffalo with Dareus/Williams, Philly with Cox. You also usually need a couple good linebackers - at the very least good instinctual players. Bradham was a solid fit and followed Schwartz to Philly after buffalo. Wide 9 has counters of creating rushing lanes for QBs (Who are more athletic now than ever before), inside zone rushing in general, and play action. Their LBs and DTs needed to run this aren't all on the team yet so to me we'll see what they do.

They just haven't been a particularly good drafting team. Like say what you want about gabe davis - but the jets drafted James Morgan ahead of him and he never played a down in the NFL.

Yeah - i doubt he did much other than make the money work and give Indy a body. But his 2023 salary is guaranteed so they get to pay him.

I like that we traded them all though. Got a 5th in 2023 for Ford. 5th for Jones. Moss we didn't get anything for, but they do pay his salary next year which is nice.

Top receiver is going to cost you a trade up, which likely means a 2024 1st rounder which is a tough sell when the team is now becoming quite expensive. Need picks to include on rookie deals. I'd rather see what it would take to trade for Godwin or DJ Moore, especially if you include davis in the return. 2022 - 6 went in the first - and the next tier was watson, robinson, metchie, thornton and pickens. Combination of low statistical production, off field issues, injuries, and slot WRs. Shakir honestly fits decently among that group as a projection going forward. 2021 - 5 went in the first - next tier was E. Moore, R. Moore, Eskridge, Atwell, and Marshall. St. Brown and Palmer were the best players outside round 1 and they were 3rd and 4th round picks.

I suppose he's an option. I wouldn't consider it wasted - he just looked overwhelmed when inserted into the lineup.

Based on the list below... They definitely need a tackle and guard/center in this draft somewhere. I could see tackle in the first. I'd love to see an upgrade at WR2 - But it's tough. Depends what happens with poyer and edmunds because their depth is not even close to the level of their play. 1 - T or DT - Depends on Oliver/phillips status, but i think its probably a tackle. Could see them trading out of the first. 2 - WR - Depends if T was first pick, i think it would be 3 - DT or S - Depends if DT was first pick 4 - G - I think they sign a starter but i'd like another option 5 - TE - Push Morris 5 - QB/LB/BPA Offense: Saffold - Lot of money for a pretty lousy return. Quessenberry - Absolute liability in pass pro, but so is Brown Van Roten - Appreciate the flexibility, but he's not very good Boettger - TBD on this playoff run in my eyes Crowder - Gone Bease - Fun swan song Brown - See above Singletary - See how the RB dominos fall, if he doesn't sign early you can probably get him at a pretty reasonable rate. Keenum Defense: Poyer - No other option on the roster, he'll be 32 and if he doesn't come back its a problem. Edmunds - No other option on the roster, he's played really well this year at times and is only 25 Lawson - 29 - will want some cash to return but i could see it. Helps ease the miller injury timeline. Phillips - 30 - I'd pay him less than he made in 2022 to play here again. Special Teams: Matakevich - Probably replaced by Spector Jones - Can probably be had again for his low cap hit in the 1-2M range as a gunner. He's a ST captain so i'd assume he sticks around as long as he wants to play like Slater with NE. Kumerow - Didn't really do much in his walk year, cheap if you want him Martin - I like him - hope they bring him back.
