  1. David Montgomery ran a 4.63, Mattison ran a 4.67, Edwards-Helaire ran a 4.6, J. Robinson a 4.64, Stevenson ran a 4.64, Darrel Williams a 4.72, Kareem Hunt 4.62, James Conner 4.65 Moss had a really terrible yards before contact number that was a full yard lower than DS. Felt like they were both running into a wall the first half of the year and a lot of that was the combo of ford/boettger in the middle, and williams at RT just being brutal on the backside of left side zone rushes. They got a lot better once brown came in because they could A - run zone rushes to the right and B - He's athletic enough to disrupt the backside linebackers on rushes to the left. They also could pull people once williams and ford were out so they could mix in some power and sweeps etc. Just... some type of variety to it was huge. In general though, moss just played very uninspiring football. He knows his job is up for grabs, hopefully he brings it this year.
  2. Really? The trash offensive line, and trash run calls were the reason we couldn't run the ball all year. Jonathan taylor is great, but so is his line. Chubb is great, so is his line. Same with Henry, Elliot, Cook, etc.
  3. 2021 - Rams had 2 running backs and a 3rd play in the playoffs - Bengals had Mixon 2020 - Bucs had jones and fournette, Chiefs had CEH, Bell, and Williams 2019 - Chiefs had Williams, Mccoy, William - 49ers had Coleman, Mostert, Brieda 2018 - Patriots had MIchel, White, Burckhead - Rams had Gurley 2017 - Patriots had Lewis, Gillislee, Burkhead, White - Eagles had Blount, Clement, Ajayi If recency has anything to do with it... which i think it should as bell cow running backs have become far less popular. It seems like you almost don't want one to get to the super bowl.
  4. By what metric is he the 31st rated starting running back? He was 16th in the NFL in rushing yards, tied for 15th in TDs, tied for 15th in yards per carry. 4.6 YPC, 7 TDs. Down the stretch he played really well when given a chance for more snaps, and had 3 TDs in the playoffs.
  5. i do NOT want a RB in the first - if you want a back in the first 3 rounds you better trade out of the 1st to get 4 picks.
  6. It's based on the pay they got though. 3 and 33.75 for Johnson is a 11.25 AAV which put them in the 4th rounder territory.
  7. They literally just did this for the minority HC/GM hires though. Baltimore with Culley 49ers with Saleh and Mayhew Rams with Holmes NO with Fontenant Cle with Adofo-Mensah KC with Poles
  8. I mean its in the article: They got a 3rd for Brad Holmes being hired by the Lions. They had a net loss of 5 players there - the 4th is for john johnson. First 2 6ths are for Ebukam and Everett, and the last one is for troy hill.
  9. I feel like people completely forget about the oline struggles during the season - watch the jags game again and tell me we don't need an influx of oline talent. Assume Bates comes back, i suppose he plays right guard instead of left - and the starting 5 is probably fine. The second injuries hit though... Cody ford, Tommy Doyle, probably bobby hart again, whoever that guy is they just signed. It's a problem. I don't think we need like 10 draft picks, but they need to add some cheap talent on the line that they can develop. I don't mind a first round corner either but we do have an all-pro on the other side - but i understand the importance of the position. At the end of the day - the big thing is to protect your biggest investment. So far, that meant extending morse and signing saffold - while losing mongo and williams. I'm not sure we improved a ton here, or at all and depth is going to be an issue.
  10. Same - I flip flop on each and it depends whos there at guard for 25. If targets arent there for either i may look to trade down, and try and add an extra 2nd day pick. 4 picks in rounds 2-3 would help with holes at OG, CB, WR, MLB (not a hole yet, but they didn't extend him either)
  11. Open to it. Not a big fan of either coaching staff tbh. The big thing is that Baltimore won't be a bad team this year imo. Tough to put more than 1 WC in these tight divisions, and cincy gets a 1st place schedule this year after going 10-7 with the last place one last year.
  12. Titans and Colts both play the AFC west which is the tough division on paper. But nobody wants to play either of these teams. Both have good HC's. Both play good defense - run and pass. Both run the ball exceptionally well. Both have tough matchup WR's. They also get 4 games each against Houston and Jax. That can help prop the record up. I see it as Division winners: Buffalo Baltimore KC Tenn Wildcard: Los Angeles Indy Cleveland LA and Indy were on the cusp a year ago if not for some failure down the stretch. Indy upgraded at QB, and LA upgraded on defense to address. I see Cincy's defense taking a big step back and them struggling in their division. I see LV and Den being the weaker teams out west with new HC's, and that division largely cannibalizing itself. Denver had a strong defense - but no longer has any of the defensive (or offensive for that matter) acumen that probably carried them that far. I just see a similar level of struggle there getting used to new coaches etc. Vegas was lucky last year and their kicker bailed them out a ton. Adding Jones and Adams is great - but the LBs and secondary there are pretty much trash, the oline doesn't blow me away and adams and renfrow do a lot of the same things. Patriots seem to have gotten worse for the most part. They're another Indy/Tenn style team that are annoying to play against. Miami - new HC, and just an unexciting group. Should be .500 or something.
  13. Woods when healthy is an excellent blocker who is game to line up all over the formation. He also is a good fit in the PA oriented crossing route offense associated with the titans. He should be a nice counter to what they have with AJ brown. Hooper is a nice add for them as well. Titans are a team that will be overlooked this year because of how their season finished, and questions about tannehill. But they should have their division locked up, they run the ball well and their defense is better than people think. They're a problem for anyone in the playoffs, and they'll be there for a home game.
  14. Actually he doesn't return punts believe it or not
  15. All 4 all-pros last year were drafted in the 1st or 2nd round.
  16. He does have an agent though. Telling the league he's meeting with minnesota is like - oh? Who is this Bates guy? Should we be calling too?
  17. By the end of the year I'm not sure he was better than Eli Ankou. He already got the signing bonus, and he's not going to even consider walking away from guaranteed base salary. Just cut him and be done with it.
  18. The 2.6M next year is there no matter what. His cap hit if you cut him is the bonuses and the guaranteed base salary. Float it over 2 years and the dead money is still there next year. Do you want to eat up 12M in cap total for him to play, or spread 7.7 across 2 years for him to be gone.
  19. Even with Bates I was still expecting a guard in the first round.
  20. Cole was on the cusp of being overpaid, and for his age no one wants to extend him. Trade market could theoretically materialize. If you need the 4 milliion now go get it, but if you don't whats the hurry?
  21. Someone would owe him - 6.1 + per game active and workout bonuses totalling like 600k. You'd be getting him for 1 year and 6.7M, the 2nd year has a roster bonus of 1M but it isn't guaranteed until the start of 2023. Thats not.. a ton? But it's a lot for a player who isn't that good. Nothing changes anytime soon either - wait til the other guys sign and see if theres a market.
  22. There's still cap savings though. If you believe he's sufficiently replaced - cut him. You can split the dead money over 2 years if you need space this year. 4.1 on a post-june cut is pretty good. Anything you carry over lessens the dead hit in 2023 as well.
  23. Why should he give back money? You get paid crap on your rookie deal so you can earn a 2nd and 3rd contract. He was overpaid, so what? That's not his problem.
