  1. Some off field stuff too.
  2. Teams are going to score - its getting stops at crucial moments. We barely did that all season long, let alone in the playoffs.
  3. Meant to piggyback - probably just replied to wrong thread though.
  4. They traded for Toney - he is their next Hill. Maybe they didn't use him a ton as he didn't have a training camp with him. They also have Moore who will fit in the slot... MVS as a deep threat. Plus a ton of draft capital.
  5. So its 24-14 at half, KC comes out and scores. They then get a stop after a long drive and its 27-21, not 31-21. Thats a HUGE stop, and you're acting like it doesn't matter. KC comes out and makes it 28-27, then the defense forces a 3 and out... KC then goes off on the return and obviously the rest is history. 2 drives, 3 points. 10 point deficit into an 8 point lead.
  6. I mean - you can't. Yet anyway. They can free up a lot of cap space with a frank clark release. Their defense has... Karlaftis, Gay, Bolton, Watson, Sneed, McDuffie all starting and on rookie contracts. There's 4 other LBs and DBs behind them also on rookie deals. Cutting Clark makes a hole, but its to keep the offensive line together. They lose JuJu, Brown, Wylie. But cutting Clark can probably bring back Brown and Wylie. Only reason i do this is because Clark's cap hit is 30 million and he's not a 30M player. Now you just need a WR and a Pass rusher - 2 hardest things to fill. I'd probably dedicate remaining cap space to one pass rusher They have 6 picks in the first 4 rounds, and 12 overall. They don't have that many open spots, but i'd expect a WR or two. A pass rusher or two (interior and edge). Linemen. They're definitely going to use this draft to stack up their depth across several positions.
  7. I mean - one of the catches someone yelled "How is he wide open?!" and then the replay you just see the guy covering him on skates slipping and falling. Occasionally you have to put people in man coverage - kelce is a beast of a route runner. He's also really clever at finding soft spots in zones - he'll use your aggressiveness against you.
  8. Jalen hurts has really strong legs too, so even if you get to him at the LOS and stand him up... there's a good chance he can drive forward against anyone on the defense.
  9. I feel like Payne and Allen were always better than him.
  10. I'd assume he has some say in it? Buffalo thrives in combo coverages and zone. The key is being close enough to disrupt the catch point. The issue is that teams like KC can exploit that by creating leverage mismatches. Same with Cincy - though they're more likely to try and create a 1x1 for chase or higgins. At the end of the day - we can complain about the coaching staff a ton. But they tackled like crap all game long, there were mental lapses, and mistakes, everywhere. Poyer was terrible. Edmunds was terrible. Milano was terrible. Oliver was terrible. Rousseau was terrible. On offense, the oline was just a disaster. Allen was also really lousy in that game. It's not a burn the film type of game, but you can't win when all of your best players just play poorly. Like - on this play allen... what you wanted to do was... throw it better. Or Spencer, on this one... you might want to get a hand on the guy in front of you. What I can learn is.. maybe how to get my offense jump started a bit more? But the players need to get the juice themselves - this isn't high school. If you can't get up for a big game, you need to look in the mirror and figure out how to do it next time. People on both sides of the ball needed to make plays.
  11. Alright i mean... he was a rookie. And he's behind an all-pro in the depth chart. Still a strange pick when you look at it though - unless they think he can play in edmunds spot.
  12. I thought he was much improved as the season went on. He doesn't have Hyde's instincts, and he missed some tackles here and there, but he was SO much better than Johnson/Lewis/Marlowe. I'm hopeful that they have a plan at safety with poyer a free agent and Hamlin and Hyde on the mend. Maybe Benford? I only say this because: He's big - 6'1 205 He's a good tackler He's not fast - 4.53 40 time at the combine He's got some man coverage chops, and has a good feel for zone. It's probably the best pathway to snaps. If it's Elam White and Johnson, he's competing with Dane for backup snaps.
  13. Yeah, i just think tranquill is likely going to highest bidder by necessity (28 by season start, and he has made like 3M).
  14. Depends what happens pre-draft. There are a lot of free agents, and i think Buffalo will dip their toes in there so they have a backup plan.
  15. I think the challenge is going to be getting him to take another step - he did that this past season. He seemed to play faster, more aggressively. He was a part of some games where Buffalo absolutely thrashed the opposing offense. What comes next is... wanting those challenging assignments, improvement as a blitzer, and development of a bit of a mean streak (Rousseau needs this as well).
  16. Vander Esch has neck issues so he'll never get a long term deal. Pratt's a thumper - which doesn't help us against the KC's of the world... but there are a lot of teams that run the ball, and it isn't just buffalo that gets some lousier weather as the year moves on. Tranquill was at ND for 5 years, and then 4 in the NFL and will be 28 when he gets his new deal so id imagine he wants the highest guarantee possible.
  17. 7 years always seems like too long for anyone other than a QB, but he's... and i can't stress this enough... only 25 😂
  18. 0 investment in their running backs - big investment in their offensive line. It doubles as protection for Mahomes, and they have the best screen game in the business by a mile. Thuney is probably top paid guard, traded a 1st for Brown at LT, 2nd rounder on Humphrey, Wylie who has played all over their line, and also hit on trey smith in the 6th round.
  19. Nail on the head here. We couldn't or didn't run in the red zone, teams know this so play action is out. Dorsey didn't seem to scheme much in the way of trickery or motion to get the defense out of position.
  20. Can always move one and get a pair of picks.
  21. I'd probably rather have Duggan.
  22. That and the players association wants it pre-draft to make sure that its existing members get paid before rookies.
