He was an absolute liability in coverage so they just used him more to rush the QB and play closer to the LOS as he was getting exposed in the run game against NE and KC. For the year he led the team in missed tackles. Was it chargers? I thought Seattle as he had a couple sacks and a FF to all but ice that one.

I mean... If you double pump a screen the timing is wrecked and the entire defense knows where the ball is going. Toss that thing into the dirt, or take the sack.

I'm fine paying a wide receiver. Trade a decent pick if someone becomes available as they almost always do, if I'm paying a premium I want a more premium player than Davis has shown to be at this point.

Being big and fast will only get you so far. In fact its likely to get you injured and sacked a lot tbh.

1 year starting is a big concern. Culpepper started for 4 years. Newton only had the 1 year starting (plus another Junior college year where he won the NJCAA championship)... but he won the heisman trophy and a national championship. Richardsons team went 6-6, he didn't put up much in the way of numbers, and its hard to get excited about some of the big wins when the team stat line includes 54 carries for 374 yards and 3 TDs. It's going to take some time - pocket management, blitz diagnosis, reading the field, using your eyes, rhythm passing... he needs a lot of work. I'd avoid playing him this year at all if i could - but i expect he'll play a game or two at the end of the year once they're out of the playoff picture. I also expect that he'll suck in those games. I know hooker is older, and is recovering from an injury... and levis is older and has a lot of the same wrinkles... but they just seem like better players when it comes to what happens on the field. You used the 4th overall pick to draft a redshirt player, who might need 2 redshirt years.

They drafted a TE and a guard seeing that... they needed better hands and another weapon, and just trying to build a strong offensive line requires draft resources or a ton of money. I was hoping one of Sanders or Simpson might slip to us in the 3rd, and it didn't happen. Not gonna judge a rookie based on his first camp - bernard on the other hand is a year plus in and still doesn't seem capable of playing at the speed needed to be successful. I do think Dodson/Rapp/Milano/Johnson are all going to be blitzing a bit more than they have in the past - hopefully dodson can prove more valuable in this role than edmunds.

He did have a stop on one of the back to back brissett QB runs on 3rd and 1. Pretty much ended the game right there.

And yet he soldiered on and led the team in tackles 🙂 Their top 10 running game managed 51 yards on 19 carries. If you want to add in the QB scrambles you have 26 carries for 80 yards.

Just for some context - The lions had the #4 Offensive in football. Coming off a 3 game winning streak (and following this loss with 3 more wins). They had 3 turnovers total in that 7 game stretch and 2 were against buffalo, and it was among their mediocre to poor outings on the season. And also dodson played 10 snaps in that game - klein played 71. Dodson did play the entire game against Cleveland. It should be noted that the game was 28-10 and the Browns gained 150 yards on offense after that 3 score lead was established, as well as 13 points.

I'd be open to it but at the fair market value of what you think he's going to produce. I like him more than slayton who got 6M AAV, but his numbers don't really line up with JuJu at 8.5M AAV. The big issue is his agents going to point at allen lazard getting 11M AAV on a 4 year deal - which feels like a lot. We don't have cap space to pay a #2 WR 11+M AAV, let alone one who has as many wrinkles as Davis.

The kid can catch - he's 6'4 250 and has huge hands. He didn't run at the combine but he looks the Ertz part. Knox is a solid player in that 50-75 target range, and his rookie year drops seem to have mostly been fixed. 2 athletic tight ends, one in line, one you can move around more, it can create mismatches and favorable run fits. I don't know what else you really want in a pass catcher on offense. Speed i guess is the name of the game right now, but i'll take hands and a student of the game over that in most cases.

Last one i went to, my ticket was free from a friend, and it was dollar dogs and sodas. I ate 6 hot dogs, walked down to field level and took some pictures, then left sometime in the 4th quarter to beat traffic.

The 3 players listed are not good players in what i've seen. Not to say that our RT situation has been much better. Hunt seems pretty solid at RG, and Armstead while older is still everything you want in a left tackle. The problem is their QB is a lefty and austin jackson is just not very good - tons of athleticism but hes just not physical enough. Our guy is similar but overly physical and penalty prone.

Pass protection is a big pivot - going from a team running options and generally running the ball more than passing... to a team that passes considerably more than they run. He also plays a position that had a returning starter.

6'3 230 - guys a load to take down. He ran a sub 4.4 40 at the combine (2014 but do with that information what you want :-))

Super bowl ending last year was pretty bad - that holding call at the end just abruptly ended the game when they swallowed their whistles all game long. Pretty weak call, and then factoring in that it was 3rd and 8 with 1:54 left, and philly having a timeout and moving the ball mostly at will... just felt fishy to me.
