  1. 7th in the NFL in interceptions. 2nd in the NFL in pass defenses. T-6th in the NFL in Y/A and 6th in AY/A. 7th in opposing QB rating. 11th in sacks. 8th in QB hits. 2nd in TFLs. 12th in completion % allowed. We've had the 5th most pass attempts against this year. The 49ers defense has 4 fewer attempts and 110 fewer yards. Across 14 games that's basically nothing. There's definitely been a few more big plays than we're probably used to - and they could and have been improving a bit situationally.
  2. We have 5 takeaways in the last 5 games, and 3 giveaways in the last 5 games. Teams on the positive end of that usually win. 2 takeaways in minnesota don't mean much when the offense has 4 giveaways. Looking at it as well - buffalo has been much better on 3rd down. Cleveland 4/11, Detroit 6/15, Patriots 3/12, Jets 8/17, Dolphins 5/14. Not amazing or unheard of - but would still be a top 10 number in the NFL this year. Buffalo also has the 3rd best RZ defense this year. All this while dealing with injuries to DE1, DE2, DT1, LB1, LB2, CB1, FS1.
  3. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_City_Miracle Avoid kicking off, avoid backwards pass plays and all the crap that comes with them (i know NE just lost on one, but i feel like players get hurt and there's always a chance for a stupid TD). It was a 25 yard field goal with no time left. 5 FGs have been missed inside 30 this year, on 190 attempts. Thats a 97% success rate, and if Bass says he's got it - i trust him.
  4. Cincy or baltimore wins the north, other is a WC. I'd say based on schedule - only 1 of jets/phins/patriots makes it. Jags are playing well but i just see them doing something dumb and losing to the texans or something. Raiders have a really tough schedule the rest of the way but they literally play everyone close. And i would LOVE to see them beat KC week 18.
  5. For those who would have preferred the TD. I'm fairly certain they talked to bass at about 2 minutes and he said something along the lines of "left hash, and I'll nail it inside of 40". They wouldn't set up a kick unless bass said he felt good about it.
  6. They were off last year in a bunch of games too though. Look at the TB first half and tell me that offense was working well. Or the New Orleans game. Or the Carolina Game. Or Atlanta. Our offense is capable of being a top offense in the league. The defense is capable of dominating stretches as well. The Bengals defense strung together 4 strong performances in the playoffs a year ago. Buffalo is certainly capable of doing this as well as i personally believe the Bills unit is better.
  7. I dunno about that though. While Buffalo is coming off an offensive performance about on par with the wind game in 2021, they have recorded over 400 yards 7 times this year vs 6 through the same number of games last year. 20 turnovers to 18 in 2021. Stats in many games sort of line up as well. They've scored 20 or more 11 times, last year they did 9 times. They are 0-6 when they don't score 20 in the last 2 seasons. 46.4% on 3rd downs in 2021, 48.7% in 2022. 62.3% RZ 2021 vs 57.4% 2022 (Works out to an additional 2 TDs this year).
  8. Just move their games to primetime in september - or at least the 4PM window. Then the sun will have fallen enough to shade the field more.
  9. Have to make teams pay when they double diggs, and figure out as quickly as possible when they don't.
  10. The nice thing is I think we can counter their explosive pass game with our zone, and they don't run the ball well. The pass rush needs to have a good game, all of the bengals losses seemed to coincide with offensive line struggles. Defensively, their strength is traditionally in stopping the run with a big d-line lead by reader and Hendrickson. Hendrickson broke his wrist recently, but it sounds like hes going to play anyway - likely means hes playing with a club which hurts your effectiveness. Their secondary isn't anything to write home about. They use an interesting strategy against Mahomes where they only rush 3, but i feel like Allen will just run out of that himself forcing them to adjust. 8 guys in coverage with eyes on the QB is helpful but if its Allen I think he'll just scramble for free yards if he holds the ball. Or step up and look to scramble until the defense loses their zone discipline.
  11. I agree on the latter, but you have to earn your stripes as a 7th rounder. Either play your way onto the field, or go down and tackle some people.
  12. I did - i made some trades to try and upgrade at QB since i was saddled with Wilson all year. QB: Herbert RB: CMC RB: A. Jones WR: Diggs WR: K. Allen TE: Hockenson Dallas Defense Bench: Dillon, Singletary, Aiyuk, Goedert.
  13. Hands were never Hodgins issue, he should be a jump ball threat too. His issue is he runs a 4.6, isn't a plus blocker, and doesn't play special teams. He also (much like chris hogan before him) plays smaller than his size. He was given an opportunity here, but he couldn't beat out Kumerow.
  14. They usually like to have a win and in game on SNF. Any of these might get some consideration Falcons Bucs Jets Dolphins Bengals Ravens Outside shot for Lions-Packers, Cowboys-Commanders
  15. The refs changing that call in the 2nd half from TD to touchback is still one of my all time BS calls. You can't just make up hand signals, knowing the rules is important. Then this: https://billswire.usatoday.com/2021/04/11/nfl-finally-admits-call-from-bills-texans-playoff-game-was-legal/
  16. He thought (rightfully so) he would get more of a shot with the giants and all of their injuries. Honestly good for him though, but i don't think he "never got a shot". He got plenty, he was hurt, or outplayed. Buffalo is missing Crowder and Kumerow. They still have Diggs and Davis outside, and Mckenzie and shakir inside. He wasn't going to get a ton of playing time as a #5 in buffalo. Buffalo replaced him as depth with Brown and Beasley, and I don't think having him would at all have prevented Buffalo from drafting someone fairly early next season. NYG are missing Sheperd and Robinson. Moved Toney. Injuries and just straight up benching of Golladay. 2 first rounders, a high paid guy, and a longtime vet for the team are all out of the lineup. If Diggs, Davis, Crowder and Mckenzie all were hurt - I'd imagine Hodgins would see a big jump in snaps
  17. Who cares about next year right now though? He's been one of the consistent weapons in the red zone this year - therefore i don't bench him.
  18. Can't sit mckenzie imo. He's one of our few red zone weapons whos actually done anything.
  19. Mahomes is the same - but they are so good at them. A lot of that is Reid though.
  20. Some of us have all 4! don't forget also being a twobillsdrive poster.
  21. The 32nd pick in the draft got about 3m per year. That would slot in at 19th in the NFL for running backs with the highest AAV at 16M for CMC. That would slot in at about 55th in the NFL for wide receivers with the highest AAV at 30M for Tyreek Hill. You can make many arguments about why you like the player, or a RB at that spot. But cap management is not a reason.
  22. I don't think it was consensus - but many people wanted Harris and Etienne in 2021, and Hall in 2022. The following players are UFAs though: Barkley Jacobs Sanders Pollard Williams Wilson Mostert Montgomery Singletary Hunt Perine A couple will probably get some decent money, but after the first 3 or 4 big money deals drop and the money dries up they can probably get a pretty good guy for the rotation in the sub-5M AAV range. Could even be Singletary.
