TRADE! Giants send Williams to Seattle for 2nd
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Having 2 thirds gives us a shot at trades, but i'm reluctant to part with a 2nd when we are likely to have holes at S (Poyer final year, Hyde UFA), WR (Davis UFA), DE (floyd/AJE UFAs), potentially CB (White coming off another major injury), DT (DQ UFA). Too many needs moving forward just to tread water let alone improve without a lot of picks. -
Week 9 thread - We’re on to Cincinnati
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Games like this usually come down to a few plays. Can we create a couple turnovers? Can we not turn the ball over? Can we punch it in in the RZ? Can we prevent them from doing so? Who's kicker makes all their kicks, and who's kicker misses? -
Giants Jets game - Daboll's call to attempt a FG
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to BillsIsrael's topic in The Stadium Wall
They let the jets spot the ball!! Insanity -
We can't accommodate his base salary this year so the point is moot. If we acquired him there would be no dead money as the 8m dead money is tied to already paid signing bonus, so Indianapolis would be on the hook for that. He does have a 6.5m injury guarantee for 2024. If we traded for him we would have to redo his contract to lower his 2023 cap hit. Either removing the rest and adding void years, or converting to bonus and redoing extension years.

Zach Wilson was a highly touted #2 overall pick. Now I'm of the opinion that the player makes the biggest difference, not the coaching. But you can't act like a player succeeds with a bad coach. He's the only HC Wilson's ever had. So talent evaluation was wrong - he was not deserving of the #2 pick. HOWEVER - Saleh shouldn't get a pass either. He's a worse player than he was at the start, and that to me comes down to coaching at some level.

I was more looking at this from the perspective of the person who said there were only a handful of coaches that he would take over mcdermott. So the maybe's don't really represent my opinion? Just... i could see how you could make an argument for that. I agree with a lot of that - i hate the stefanski and arthur smith style since it basically only works if you're in a close game or winning. At least they both realized that to play that style you also need a defense. LaFleur is fast falling into these habits too. I think Taylor is overrated. Belichick the coach isn't bad, he is not a good talent evaluator though.

Lets Run down the list then... Yes - Reid, McVay, Belichick, Shanahan, Pederson; Harbaugh, I'm iffy on McDaniel but I'll put him here Maybe - Vrabel, Carroll, Tomlin, Saleh, O'Connell, LaFleur, Campbell, Stefanski, Taylor No - Reich, Eberflus, Gannon, McDaniels, McCarthy, Payton, Ryans, Steichen, Rivera, Bowles, Daboll, Allen, Staley, Smith

Fitzpatrick's veiled criticism of Dorsey?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to The Helmet of's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the criticism is a bit warranted since we were plus 14 for a lot of the 2nd half and we stalled out just outside FG range 4 straight times. 10 more yards on any of those first 3 drives and were looking at a 3 score game. -
If you want this to be your point, shouldn't you look this up rather than wait? Is this above .500 after the season? at the time they played? Edit - I'm bored at work and did the math and when you take out 2017 (Tyrod and 60M in dead cap), and 2018 (Rookie josh team with no WRs) its not bad at all. 20-13 since 2020.

Depends on the situation - in that one where its like... throwable? Yes. When its 1st and 10 with 5 seconds left I'm not sure I'm even rushing anyone.
-
From that distance with that little time remaining i don't hate it. I'm not going 0 but i think you can rush 5. Leaves 6 to cover 5 and they likely don't have a play other than everyone get in the end zone.

Last minute/play game management
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why wouldn't the refs blow the whistle when the QB is in a 330 LB dudes grasp moving backwards? Kept stalling out, never went for much of a kill shot either. I miss the deep balls up 14 in those situations. We kept them deep for the most part which definitely helped the defense get stops and prevent FGs etc. -
I thought he played fine. Rapp on the other hand... woof. I assume we'll have benford and white. I do think its a need come draft time, but i'd like to avoid spending a 1st round pick there. I think with our surplus of picks we can probably grab one somewhere in the draft though. WR2 - Davis UFA CB3 - Jackson UFA 1T - Jones UFA, everyone else gone 3T - Phillips gone S - Hyde gone OT - Push Brown DE - AJE free agent, same with Floyd

I don't know why we don't just go tackle eligible, throw a fullback out there and just hammer it home. It was less than a yard, you could sneak if you wanted but even if you don't want allen in there you have murray and you need a crease about as wide as my finger for him to get the needed foot and a half. Right - it beats the old allen who would never hand off on a read option? But sometimes you read it wrong.
-
I like spreading it out against the blitz.
-
The handoff takes too much time. It just doesn't work there, reading a linebacker or not thats gonna be clogged. It's likely an RPO or read-option look out of shotgun - just need to spread the opponent out a bit more for you to be able to execute.
