I mean... a bit of an overstatement. Even potentially missing kelce and toney they still have... a top i dunno, 3 offensive line? Thuney and Humphrey are all-pro's inside with Trey smith who started 17 games as a rookie. Steady hand at left tackle in Donovan smith. Added a fairly big money deal to Taylor from Jacksonville. Even missing some playmakers, they still will be able to create time and space for mahomes to operate, and lanes in the run game for pacheco to put you into makeable 3rd downs. Between Moore, MVS, and Mckinnon they have weapons to attack you at all 3 levels, and if Kelce plays you have to flow defense towards him.

Interesting... i wonder if he's on a pitch count? I'm hitting him on every single snap he's out there 🙂. Honestly i think this should always be the strategy.

Interesting Buffalo News article on Dawkins
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Toledo Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall
He looks big there - he used to often just look big in the middle. -
Toney's missed time in camp i think, and is up in the air for week 1. I assume Kelce doesn't play. This is likely a skyy moore, MVS deep shot game if i had to guess. Pacheco and the offensive line, and then you attack in play action.

Detroit can make this game hard, and a slog. Montgomery and Gibbs - early and often. Gay and Bolton are good linebackers, but i think the lions line can make it a rough day at the office with Jones not in there. Get some space in that 10-15 range on play action. If they have a good red zone plan i think they can absolutely win this game.

Bernard, Torrence and Benford all officially starters
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I guess? I just mean like... picking off Tyson Bagent doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things. He played in the big 12 in college, its not like he's never seen big game action before. -

There isn't much different about practice and preseason though. There isn't crowd noise, the results don't really matter. He must have been great in practice and the film room. -
Caleb Williams - unreal player (and who will get him?)
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to RobbRiddick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, some serious regression from guys like both robinsons too. Allen robinson is in a decent spot now with johnson getting majority of targets, and pickens likely getting a lot of attention. Still think he's lost a step though. -

Gotta think Mcvay, stafford, kupp, donald can get you at least 5 wins. They won 5 last year with all 3 of those guys missing time. And starting random QBs like Mayfield and Wolford. -
Kirksey signing with the Bills PS

Well he was a rookie 2 years ago, and he coincidentally became healthy the week Von went down... soooo weird. -
OT…Now the Jets are the 85 Bears
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Benford at the time was starter because he had to be. Now he has to earn every bit of playing time. Hamlin ideally won't be in, poyer will be. Hyde is in over lewis. Bernard is currently the starter (i think), but dodson and now kirksey are waiting in the wings if he doesn't earn his spot. -

I'm not sure how much edmunds can do there, hamlin was pushed off completely into dodson by jefferson. If you think edmunds is shooting that gap there i just doubt he could have got there. Benford just whiffed... i don't expect him to decleat the guy but can you at least get some hands on? Then you got lewis playing the other safety who just takes a terrible angle. -
I just see Harvin 2.0 with Toney. He'll be missing games every year.

I mean you can say what you want about dodson and milano - who blocks who... But Benford had him dead to rights and whiffed on his tackle in his gap... Like to see harty and cook involved there too. Get those guys in some space and just keep the chains moving. -

13 for 38 plus the 81 yard TD. Not saying take it out of his numbers, just that the context there is that he had a good game when outside of one play he really didn't do a whole lot. -

If hes not starting in a couple weeks then hopefully that means one of the other guys is doing well 🙂 I think he'll still be on the roster in a couple of weeks either way though for depth. -
OT Germain Ifedi signs with the Bills

I mean... Fields was sacked 91 times the last 2 years. Sack percentages of 11.8 and 14.7 which is in a word... bad. He clearly holds the ball longer than most. Before that it was some combination of Foles and Trubisky -
Missed Draft Picks Will Catch Up
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to PepeSilvia's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really thought we'd grab metcalf in the second. Just felt like something an ascending team would do - grab a big bodied downfield WR for our big armed QB. Especially considering zay jones had been a disappointment to that point (we traded him mid-season so clearly he wasn't someone likely considered a future piece). Veach hit pretty well in 2021, and 2022 looks good too. 2020 doesn't look bad even if CEH was probably a wasted pick in the first. They also spent firsts the last 2 years on pass rushers. So i think thats the same line of thinking as beane in that... you need some pass rushers on rookie deals because they rotate a decent amount, and its the only way to keep the costs down at the position. -
How much longer will the window be open?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to JohninMinn.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
The closest comparisons i could think of would be maybe Rivers and Ryan? Rivers only made the playoffs twice in his last 10 seasons with the chargers, a lot of it was on the defense there (as well as some chargers luck). Matt Ryan won an MVP, and made it to a super bowl, but they couldn't really build a defense there. As much as we want to complain about the missed picks, we've still fielded a solid defense pretty much the entirety of Allen's tenure here. I don't know what the future holds, but doubling down on OL and DL is likely the way to keep this train churning forward. -
Trade Tracker (2023 Cutdown)
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to ColoradoBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I remember him getting absolutely roasted by buffalo his rookie year. Then i never heard from him again. -
True, davis isn't bad either. Honestly neither is diggs.
-
There are 2 more drafts and free agency rounds before then, so i wouldn't consider it a major concern. But I'm not loving what we've seen from some of our drafted DE's, and its one of the more overpriced FA positions.
-
Running backs are so cheap anyway... why even use draft capital? If there's a priority UDFA guy you can just draft them in the 7th too.
-
They're late round picks providing some quality depth. TJ is a good nickel back in a primary nickel league. Davis is a WR2, and will be paid as one next season. Benford jackson and hamlin played a ton of snaps last year and our defense finished 6th in yards and 2nd in points per game. But i'm sure none of them could start anywhere...
