  1. People on twitter seem bothered by his statement about newton ruining the panthers... Is he wrong?
  2. I probably would if I was playing. I expect the same from most of our guys. You know the man, you know his character. He's weird quirky, awkward, and apparently cringey as hell with some of his speeches. He sounds like a micro manager. He doesn't seem to accept criticism and blames others (who doesn't do this?) But he cares about everyone in that organization as a person. He's instilled a sense of purpose family and comradery within the organization that didn't exist prior to him. If that's not enough to want to win for the man, i don't know what is.
  3. Maybe he was trying to talk about the one that didn't crash into the towers? and how they banded together to stop terrorists? Lines got crossed
  4. Might have been shooting from the hip and just.. *WHIFF*. It's like telling a funny story that you realize about 30% in... isn't funny. Then you have to finish it 🙂
  5. I mean if it were me? I'd be really pissed off. And in turn... the team is going to be pissed off because I'd be very likely to take it out on them in some capacity. Maybe it'll light a fire? At this point in the season with everything falling apart, we can only hope that he's saved his best coaching for right now.
  6. Do they win a super bowl with Winston? No. They were 3rd in yards/points in 2019, and 1st in passing yards. However they were last in the league in turnovers. With Brady, the sack rate improved from 7% to 3.3%. So half as many sacks. INT rate went from 4.8% to 2.0%. About 60% drop off in turnovers. TD rate went from 5.3% to 6.6%. Completion % went from 60.7% to 65.7%. AY/A went from 7.1 to 8.0. Drop rate increased from 3.8% to 5.3% - more drops with brady than winston. Broken tackles decreased from 1 every 15.9 receptions, to 1 every 24.1 receptions. More players broke tackles with Winston than Brady.
  7. I wouldn't consider Brady's "late at tampa" super bowl as a didn't deserve it. The team was 7-9 the previous year, and 11-5 with him. 10 TDs to 3 INTs in the playoffs of 2020. 108 TDs to 33 INTs over his 3 years in Tampa. He also probably got screwed over on the 2021 MVP tbh.
  8. Just a quick thought on this one - Shady was on about 30 carries at that point, and the previous play was a run by Cadet. So my assumption was shady's gassed (running in snow is exhasuting as we all know). Not sure how i feel about a 4th and 1 carry to a running back who averaged .5 yards per carry in the game, and passing with a 3rd string QB/WR/STer. I'd go for it - at the time i was outraged too.
  9. I dunno why its so difficult - You want that international money - add a 2nd bye week. You can also start having games on i dunno - tuesday or something. Give teams time to re-acclimate after long travel weekends to places unknown. etc. Taylor's version!
  10. I don't know how you grade it. Warner is also surrounded by talented players in the front 7 so maybe... that hurts him? I dunno.
  11. Can probably throw jags in there. They still have some weapons, but t-law missing some time and kirk done for the year is definitely going to make every game a bit more of a challenge for them the rest of the way.
  12. I think he's trying to find that happy medium between aggressive and reckless. I think at the VERY least... we can all agree, he has not found that 🙂
  13. Been a weird season. I don't think he wanted to lose on something stupid after a 60 yard field goal.. But thats his issue - playing not to lose. And we still should have won - even with all of these factors. Penalties called and not called. Coaching mistakes. A turnover. 60 yard FG. etc.
  14. Over complexity means miscommunications. Miscommunications lead to so many different mistakes.
  15. No - but it does creep into the back of your mind a bit. I don't have a ton of problems with the kneeldown - 20 seconds and a timeout is tough. Sack fumble is a loss. Int is likely a loss. Even with a good 20 yard completion, you have to use the timeout and then it becomes a quick play spike situation just for a chance. 20 seconds is 3 plays, and 1 of them is a spike. The timeout usage i have more problems with. We called two... when the clock was stopped. Icing the kicker - fine. It's an old tradition but its a 60 yarder, i don't hate it. We would've had 2 timeouts and 20 seconds instead.. which means that 2nd play above can now be an allen scramble, or something a bit more down the field to create a makeable FG. But WHY did we call timeout on 3rd and 17 after they false started? Everyone knows the scenario - tackle in bounds get off the field - FG unit should know who's who and line the hell up next to mcdermott ready to run on the field. We JUST lost a game with this mistake, its fresh, its burned into their brains.
  16. Are we just gonna ignore the interception that Allen threw in a similar situation against denver at the half... that spotted denver 3 points in a 2 point game...
  17. Normal week i assume - practice today? They don't practice during the bye week.
  18. Titans and Panthers are playing rookie QBs on young teams. Valuable reps there and they aren't going to lie down. Their defenses can't get takeaways, but backup QBs hold the ball more often. I wouldn't put money on it, but i wouldn't be surprised if they lose either of those games without lawrence. The Jaguars would just have a huge question mark without him.
  19. If you watch enough film you'll see similarities. I remember peterson talking about one where he knew we were running a post and picked it in OT. But end of the day there - he baited them into it, gave them the leverage to look open, and allen threw a bad ball. If its a good ball its probably a TD.
  20. The best statistical WR drafted this season so far is... puka nacua (picked in the 5th). The 2nd best statistically has been Tank Dell (picked in the 3rd). I'm not fully opposed to a WR in the first - but im opposed to trading up (team has a ton of holes on defense at this point, and needs more contributors on rookie deals). Just need to see how the board falls and if there's a guy there that you like. Offensive linemen i can imagine spending some capital on - however we have a starting 5 (bates in for morse potentially), and developmental players (anderson and van demark). I think a pick here doesn't hurt us though as buffalo has 10 picks. Try and get meaner. They usually want to fill the depth out with veterans. RB - Hate using a decent pick on this when you see guys like pacheco, allgeier, and Kyren williams producing in the 5th round or later. Defense - A DE - If they bring AJE back then we'll have 3. Could see this being the 1st round target. I wouldn't be shocked if they draft 2. A 1T - even if they bring DQ back we have a need here and these players usually end up in that 3-5 round range. A 3T - These are harder to find as pass rush is a big component of it - could see this being a 1st round target. A CB - White either needs to take a pay cut or he is gone - you can't pay a player that much with his recent injury history. Douglas. Benford. Elam (dog house right now, but he's under contract and there's still as much potential in him as there is in any random late round pick) A NB - Neal is probably cut, Johnson i could see extended but again - this is a later round range spot. They also seem to like lewis here. Safety - I see them going after vet's here. There's a lot available, and some good players will end up in that 1yr 4-6M range. Wouldn't hate if they drafted here. We already drafted his potential replacement in williams as well.. DQ is a free agent as well. He seems to like playing here and they can probably make it work as he's a 30+ year old 1T coming off an injury.
  21. Eh they have to restructure some - but the ones you pick are players you plan to commit to long-term.
  22. Unfortunately - he wasn't at the height of his power in... a number of games this year. He's partially responsible for where the team sits currently. Jets - 4 Turnovers - 3 and out in OT Jaguars - 4 punts to start, 6 overall and a Interception, almost 2:1 TOP advantage Broncos - 2 picks and a fumble. First pick took points off board, 2nd pick gave denver points He's not solely responsible, WR drops, teammate fumbles etc. But for a supposed best player in the game, his mistakes have cost the team wins. 8 games in a row with an interception.
  23. That was the original out - they added a restructure this year for cap space so its worse than originally. If cut after 2024 its 15.4M dead in 2025. You can split it into 6.37M in 2025 and 9M in 2026. That provides 17.5M in cap savings.
  24. Gotta beat KC. Tall order but thats pretty much the season on the line. Only game they can potentially drop would be Dallas.
