  1. He's a vet - he has to sign and isn't on waivers or anything. Only way he's doing that is if its for a different likely playoff bound team. He came here to get up to speed with a new defense, and hopefully contribute. I believe we were interested in him before he signed with Houston, so I think he came here knowing the spot isn't set in stone, and he likes coaches/gm, and there's a chance to get that ring.
  2. Their front 4 isn't playing well either. They absolutely manhandled buffalo in the playoffs a year ago, we struggle with big stout DT teams.
  3. Dolphins are an interesting like... all-in case? They added Armstead, Ramsay, Hill, and Chubb's deals to a young core and it seems to be working. But they have a lot of contributors on rookie deals beyond Tua, and they were all drafted in a condensed little window when they had like 20 picks in 2 years. Just a weird example of a team drafting a ton of talent in rounds 1/2 over a 2 year period, and getting to the end of those deals and having to make tough decisions all at once. 5th year options and tags are just killers in your ability to maneuver in free agency (all cap hit, can't restructure) - and they have 4 of those coming up quickly (Tua, Jackson - he sucks but lets include him for this exercise, Waddle, Phillips) - as well as likely tag usage in 2024 (Wilkins) and 2025 (Holland). It's no wonder they traded Igbinoghene - even if he improved they wouldn't have been able to add him to a 5th year if they wanted to.
  4. Oh man... sounds like a weekend vegas bender.
  5. We will want him for stretch run - but i don't think you give him a ton of snaps right away. Maybe lag behind floyd and rousseau and just use him situationally more. You paid him to get to QBs in the playoffs. Now obviously if we aren't looking playoff bound midseason this plan is gone and you do what you gotta do to get a ticket.
  6. I mean... doesn't change much if the tackle sees him and blocks him.
  7. Could have some escalators in his contract and garbage time helps hit those thresholds.
  8. The regression comes when... nobody can make a play. So he tries to take it upon himself to do it sometimes.
  9. He led the team with 6. 20 tackles would be even more impressive when you consider he played 34 snaps.
  10. McDaniels said it after the game - you can't just reverse a team to death - they'll pick up on it. They got a big play there, a well timed screen, a great back shoulder throw, and adams made a really nice play in the red zone. They couldn't sustain because, the back shoulder throws will get defended from time to time because its a timing thing. Going to the well with reverses can cause negative plays that kill drives. They couldn't run the ball at all, and their protection was struggling with 4 man rushes. Jimmy G did a nice job maneuvering some ugly pockets but he tended to take his check downs - which buffalo was basically content to give him. When you can't do the basic things, the rest of the game starts to get away from you as you're constantly behind the sticks.
  11. I'm not going to drag someone for tripping. He's going to score some TDs for us this year in the red zone, and i hope we use him down the field at some point.
  12. Between Murray, Knox, Kincaid, Allen, and Harris - they seem to understand the value of that. We won't run it this much in every game, but you can still hit people on offense in the pass game with some of these guys.
  13. Their defensive line tends to give us problems. They blow up our running plays periodically which puts us off schedule. They sit in 2 deep zone and force you to take underneath timing throws, and allen was struggling with the chaos in front of him all game long. Couldn't get into a rhythm for the entire game. Basically they line up and you SHOULD run, but we are incapable of doing it because of their defensive line. I'd like to see us try a bit more under center and play action in the 2nd meeting. Fewer draw plays and misdirection - get them committing to run fits and create some space in that 8-15 yard range behind the linebackers.
  14. McCargo - BUST! WE DONT KNOW WHAT WERE DOING Kyle Williams - Stud! But we wasted a 1st! We doubled down on the position with Tre out, one year removed from wallace leaving. Jackson stepped up, benford was able to contribute, and Elam has been forced to battle. Nothing is given or guaranteed on a roster this deep so he'll have to keep grinding and wait for the next opportunity.
  15. Boo hoo. Cry me a river. You were on the freaking field before the game. You could walk into literally ANY of the suites and people would have let you sit with them. Probably could have hung out on the sideline for all i know. Instead... trash the organization that put you out there. Hopefully they figure out a better way to accomodate, but unless he had a group of like 14 people it doesn't make any sense why he wouldn't just walk around and be like "im takeo spikes"
  16. There's an independent consultant or something, perhaps they were on the bills sideline?
  17. I think we'll continue to run and play action in the area. On the failed 4th down harty slipped and i think if he hadn't he would have been the read.
  18. I'd punt - its a 1 point game. Your goal should be a FG attempt anywhere from 40-60 yards.
  19. He doesn't do so well when he's in 3rd and longs, playing from behind, or under pressure. They ran a ton of screens and play action to keep the defense honest for their run game. If you play your guys tight, we'll throw wide. If you play your linebackers close to the LOS, we'll attack that vacated space with play action. Then run into the favorable looks you inevitably get. There isn't a ton of escapability or improvisation, arm strength is adequate but he's not going to undress you with tight window throws. I mean... 99x out of 100 14 points is not going to get it done.
  20. His best work came on play actions. Hit that drop and let it rip. They did a bunch of WR screens to mixed results, and i felt like he had a few batted balls.
  21. OC is involved in play design and recognition. He isn't necessarily calling which play because reid is - he IS involved in installing the plays and formations into the playbook, the gameplan for the week, setting up the scout team for what they're expecting to see. It's also a middle management position that works directly with every position group. Bienemy was likely the more vocal coach in meetings too, so the "bad cop" calling out missed assignments, drops, mistakes, and being the one to get them coached up for better execution. With a nice players coach in reid, sometimes you need a hardo in meetings. I didn't love the game call or flow in this one - felt like they couldn't get their run game going and went to the well with weird stuff before figuring out the issues there.
  22. I think thats the thing - he was playing for milano i think more than edmunds. I'm not going to say which he's better suited for, but he definitely seems to offer more from a pass rushing perspective than edmunds ever did. Whether he can shed, and play downhill i think is going to be the big question. I'm fairly certain he's probably better in coverage than dodson.
  23. Could be a game where they take some shots. I have Olave and Waddle ahead of him - the real question is him or Aaron Jones in PPR and I'm probably going to go high floor with Jones. Mahomes is basically Steve Young, and Allen is more Favre. I'd say Burrow is probably Aikman in this analogy. Obviously different leagues, play styles, etc.
  24. They do work your zones, and there aren't a lot of defensive players who can match up with him in man. They like to have him stop sort of between the Linebacker and the safety, and he's really good at picking a side to create space. Your options in zone as the SAM are to either take him, or take away the back who's probably leaking out up the sideline and let the mike move in and cover kelce. You then have the nickel or will trying to pick up some sort of other crosser. Basically they just keep stabbing you with kelce and then end up taking the other stuff if you prioritize it.
