They've been motioning hill a ton, and stacking him as well to avoid press coverage and force your defense to adjust to that. The adjustment has been messing up teams run fits. I hope we continue to play physical as i think thats a way to get to someone like miami.

They've made it hard on themselves at times... but they have the best 3rd down conversion % in the league. They seem to stall in the red zone - but the 61.5% is better than a year ago, and is currently 11th in the league. There's room for improvement here for sure. 27th in offensive penalties 4th in offensive scoring percentage. 12th in net passing yards, 7th in rushing yards. Yes- miami has the best passing and rushing offense in the NFL right now. No they won't finish the year with a yards per attempt 2.5 yards more than any NFL team this year or last. No they won't continue to average 6.1 yards per attempt. They're humming right now, but injuries happen and teams start playing you differently, bad weather... etc. Buffalo has not played their best ball on offense to start the year. They do lead the league in the average length of drive, 2nd in plays per drive, and 2nd in points per drive. Those time of possession advantages give you more plays, more plays means more yards, more yards means more points (assuming you don't turn it over). They ran 65 plays to 51 for wash - 74 to 39 for the raiders - and 68 to 53 for the jets.

Makes sense, i don't know my florida geography very well truthfully - i drove through jacksonville once omw to miami so... i figured atlantic coast? i just dont know of any schools there. The military factor definitely plays into it.

I've always heard how big college football is in Florida - FSU in Tallahassee, Florida in Gainesville, UCF in Orlando, Miami in... Miami. Etc. Jacksonville doesn't really have a college team within the city, just never seem to have a big following there for whatever reason. Might not be a good sports town.

Tua's timing and short area accuracy are on another level right now. They've also kept him well protected and ran the ball effectively when presented with soft fronts. I dunno, watching other games it seems like the same thing happens constantly. Between the Jets and the Commanders, thats two of the better front 4's we're likely to face this season.

Gimmick plays usually work because they fell for the misdirection though. So its more likely the play/playcall/timing than it is the player. 1 - Probably an audible for a specific look/blitz that washington gave us. 2 - Just run twice on 3rd and 1 and a half. Reverses absolutely work still - just not when the end blows it up and forces you backwards.

And currently 32nd in yards and 30th in points... i still don't know why they brought staley back, he's just not a good coach. My assumption is ownership.

They spend a LOT on defense, and the defense isn't good as a whole. Derwin james is the highest paid safety, they have bosa and mack as 2 of the top 3 paid edge rushers, and jc jackson who is the 9th highest paid corner. Last year they couldn't stop the run, this year they can't stop passing teams. All with a defensive head coach.

Yep - Fields is bigger and more athletic than Taylor too. However Fields also gets sacked more than Tyrod (who when starting was in that 8-10% sack rate while fields is in the 12-15% range). Fields turns the ball over more: 28 fumbles in 2 years vs 17 for Tyrod in 3 years at buffalo, and an INT% of around 3.5% vs Taylors 1.5%. For context - allen threw 3 int's in week 1 and has only thrown 78 passes so far in 2023.. and his INT% IS 3.8%. So you're getting 2 TOs a game with half the TDs of an Allen. So they function similarly in what they offer from a passer from a strengths perspective, and there is a more dynamic running threat - but he's also more likely to get sacked, fumble, turn the ball over than a Tyrod.

Yeah - and he turned some of the negatives into... mildly positive gains against NYJ. I think one of the big losers was a pitch actually too. Probably just remembering a 2nd and 15 draw and being pissed off. Good to know though!

I still wish we wouldn't run him on like 9 draws a game. Occasionally they tackle him and its like a 4 yard loss.

Completions are gonna happen... usually at pretty high frequency. A good ILB today will tackle and limit the YAC, while also having the instincts and freedom to read the QB and make a play from time to time. With his length and athleticism he could close some of those windows which some QBs definitely struggle with. I felt he lacked the playmaking component. He hasn't forced a fumble since 2018. He had 2 INTs and 3 sacks over the last 3 seasons. So to me it's really hard to justify paying him a ton of money when he just isn't instinctual enough to read the QB, or physical enough to cause fumbles.

Missed camp so rhythm is definitely off too. Those corner routes, back shoulder throws, rpo's... so much of that is timing and windows and without reps you just don't get there.

Home-field advantage. If you watch enough film of their silent counts you'll see the guard give go ahead, and the center snaps shortly thereafter. Do that enough times and you kinda see the tells on when the snap is coming.

I think this was that reminder to the league that... Buffalo is not dead, they are not broken. They have a good team, a good team dynamic, and all the hullabaloo from the offseason was just noise. The best TEAMS go far, not just QBs, coaches, etc. These guys play for each other and it shows. We lost a close one to the jets... we lost one last year to them too. I expect that we're going to want to really kick their butts in November.

My wife (a pats fan) and her two sisters had beer dumped on their heads by the girl in the row behind them. I texted the hotline and they tossed the girl and she was NOT happy - but cmon now, be better. The young 20 somethings are the ones causing a lot of the ruckus i feel. Went to my first away game at arrowhead a year ago - nobody gave me a lick of trouble. They'd all joke that we were gonna get thrashed and embarrassed, but after that TJ pick they all sort of just shook my hand and left me alone.
