  1. People are upset that we didn't punt from the 36 yard line. Why do you get your kicker a contract extension if he can't make a 53 yard FG? Or that we didn't run on 3rd and 9. We have one of the best QBs in the league and we shouldn't run a play action pass on 3rd and 9? These are the decisions that Doug Marrone would make.
  2. It was 53 not 63. He was 11/16 from 50 before this game, and 3/3 this season. 8 points and a kickoff to them means you cannot lose the game on the next possession. You get to try and stop them from getting in the end zone, and you get to stop them on the conversion. Either way you win.
  3. Quite a bit of contact there too considering Allen was still in the pocket during this play.
  4. 4 of 6 at home to start the season - and 2-2 in those games. This is a huge benefit to a struggling QB. Less crowd noise, can mix up snap counts, easier to call plays in the huddle, and easier to set protections. Also helps your defense a lot to have the crowd in the game. The away win was at denver, they rushed for 200+ and that crowd was very likely pretty dead.
  5. Insane that he threw that pass. I don't mind a "pass play" but you have jalen hurts - he should be moving not back pedaling, he should be out of pocket not in it, and you probably should have had a play action element.
  6. They doubled ford and moved him, then the guard got to 2nd level. When ford came out and they tried it again phillips split the double team and was in the backfield.
  7. Wilson had about 150 yards across 40 pass plays - throw in the scrambles 170 on 42 plays. They didn't run well, but they didn't turn it over. 17 first downs with 3 coming from penalties. 244 yards. That is a losing line in probably 95% of games. Eagles -4 turnover margin is a death sentence though. Against a team with a stout defensive line that you couldn't run on, they were forced to do things they don't do quite as well. The 4th one being an absolute disaster with it being returned to the 8 yard line. Both teams were missing players - Carter Brown and Slay (johnson also got hurt on the first drive) for the Eagles, Sauce and Reed for the Jets. To lose this game philly had to make mistakes, and they did. Kick catch interference on a punt gave the jets a free 3 and out field goal. Fumble before half spotted them an extra chance for points. Elliott missed a sub-40 yard field goal.
  8. Same - if the TD wins the game, don't let them get it and let the refs sort it out.
  9. There's a couple ways to look at it. You can stretch the seam and force them to back off, or you can run it consistently and force them to play closer to the LOS. The 2nd half offense seemed to say: You want to play your linebackers back, and safeties 15 yards off? Fine - we'll line up under center and keep gashing you into makeable 3rd downs where we can throw short.
  10. Uhh former bill and future hall of famer Isaiah hodgins?! All kidding aside, robinson doesn't get drafted in the 2nd round if there isn't talent there (i thought he showed some wiggle a few times against us as a solid underneath option). Personally I kinda like Slayton as a player. He's fast, plays bigger than his height, has some solid ball tracking, and can make contested catches. He's a solid #2 WR on a lot of teams. Honestly if Buffalo were to go for a playmaker at the deadline, i wouldn't hate him. The parris campbell signing and adding Hyatt was supposed to give them some more speed on the outside to stretch teams but, campbell has never been the deep threat type of player with his speed and Hyatt felt a bit one note in his scouting report.
  11. When buffalo has been at their best - they're targeting lots of players in different personnel groupings. This game we pretty much sat in 11, and split shakir and sherfield in that grouping. Shakir is the worse blocker of the two, so i'd imagine that factored into who was on the field on what downs. They tried to use edwards as a blocking TE but that is such a huge run tell, and then used morris a bit more at the end. Looked like a lot of two high safety looks in cover 2, and they sat back pretty deep over the middle. The windows there require rhythm, or you have to target the boundaries.
  12. Most likely - i could see him restructuring before that happens to stick around. He had 9 TDs the year he signed so its not like he doesn't have ability.
  13. I don't think so? https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/las-vegas-raiders/hunter-renfrow-29197/ All of his bonuses are money that is "already paid" out in some capacity (quotes because you don't actually get the check, but you guaranteed it and spread it over years). 2024 is a 11ish Million base salary you could cut with no guarantees. And two bonuses that are tied to workouts (you cut him at start of league year so this would be out), and roster bonus tied to being active on gamedays.
  14. Its under 2 minutes though, you aren't worried about gaping holes in the run game. Just trying to get a direct route to the QB, he was flying around the edge and tyrod was throwing 4 yard out routes. I noticed they've been lining up Miller on the Left a lot, does he usually line up on that side? Or is that just for the 4 pass rusher sub package they were running?
  15. Been there. He bit on the back line in, and wouldve been burned on the double move. Everything looked fine contact wise til he turned him.
  16. He's cuttable for like no cap hit in 2024, thats not the issue. His base is 6.5M this year, so you would need to either send salary back or add a void year or something. I dunno, are kincaid shakir and harty really the problem? Or is it scheme? Or allen not looking their way?
  17. Its a good call, but if tyrod throws elsewhere they probably don't throw a flag.
  18. Yeah he'd only work if cut. Plus then you have to cut someone to accommodate.
  19. I'm sure he was targeted as the nearest defender a few times, but we played pretty soft in zone. I saw him in there making some tackles in run support. End of the day - he played every snap and we allowed 9 points so he couldn't have been that bad.
  20. Right... Thats what I'm saying though. If the run game is working then Tyrod can usually do enough to win.
  21. I'm talking about when opposing teams stopped the bills running attack, and buffalo would struggle on third downs and mostly lose games. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201709170car.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201711120buf.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201710080cin.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201609110rav.htm
  22. He's quicker than he looks like though.. if you step into that space you better have a plan because he'll sneak up behind you.
  23. He didn't have an amazing game at all, but he had what we remember as a frustrating Tyrod game. He threw a few really nice deep shots (the 4th down one while not caught was a great throw). He used his legs to avoid some sacks, and created a few positive plays out of nothing. Did a really nice job on their 3rd downs all game and kept the Bills offense from getting more possessions. What he couldn't do was overcome a mostly missing (except for one drive) rushing attack - which was what we probably remember most. He threw with more rhythm underneath than I remember. He can be so good between the 20s but once the field condenses he loses that rhythm and is unwilling to throw into tight windows, and the Bills were able to mostly sell out to stop the run.
  24. We took a QB who is short, athletic, and struggles with tight window throws and rhythm passing. And put him in a west coast outside zone offense, with a first time playcaller. The offense was better under Roman and Lynn than it was under Dennison - and a lot of this had to do with playing to his strengths (and Colin Kaepernicks before tyrod).
