Interesting and detailed Bills Draft visits chart
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have no idea where hes projected to go... but all things considered dane was a good soldier here and a ton of value for a 7th round pick. Started 28 games, another 5 in the playoffs. -
So we're going to trade a former first team all-pro for peanuts because he's injury prone to garbage turf in London? I think the fact that Lavonte david, demario davis, Bobby Wagner, and CJ mosely have all continued to perform into their 30s makes me a bit more comfortable with him at his age. Not to mention - he was playing fantastic football to start the season. Why add MORE new faces to a defense in flux?

Could Dawson Knox be more of a gadget guy?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to akcash's topic in The Stadium Wall
His drops last year were some pretty rough ones. But i love his physicality. Combine that with similar aggressive run after catch ability you see from kincaid, and you can make it really tough on another teams secondary by forcing them to shed blocks and tackle these big dudes. -

He sucked last year - plain and simple. Injuries definitely played a part - he tried to play with a broken wrist for a few weeks. At the same time, he was actually pretty solid the previous 2 seasons so I'm not worried that he's "lost a step". He's always had issues with drops so thats probably never going away, but the guy can play and he's probably our best redzone weapon at this point. If we're going to play a more physical brand of football with him and kincaid as pass catchers, you can do a LOT worse at TE2. -
He's a big boy and isn't quick so i don't see him in the slot, i just wonder if he's more bark than bite.

How should we address WR?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would like a move up to get your guy, but I'm not wagering two drafts. The extra 2nd in 2025 makes you a bit flexible with next years first round pick. But I do think we still need 3 picks in the first 4 rounds, as well as more picks than normal. I think I'd like to see 8 players picked total - WR, WR, CB, DT, DE, OG, S, RB maybe (I think RB can possibly be UDFA), There's always people that slip through cracks because teams have depth and don't want to draft a WR6/7 in the 3rd round. Shakir was drafted in the 5th - while pre draft i felt like he was right in that same window with guys like Robinson and Moore who went like 100 picks ahead of him. -

I don't disagree on his being overpaid, just that i don't believe he's paid as even a top 10 TE. And beyond that, he mostly sucked last year. I think injuries derailed him quite a bit too though. His hands were never particularly consistent, but he'd made strides the last 2 seasons before the wrist injury last year. You definitely bring in other options and improve the WR room - but there's a potentially larger role to carve out than he's ever had before with that many targets becoming available. -
Traditional vs. 'Modern Day' X Receiver
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to BabyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
yeah - at 28 i don't hate that because you can potentially move them into a #2 type role target-wise and they'll continue to be a good player while you chase traits either next year or with a later pick. I'm just reluctant to go fishing for that guy. -

I'd like some level of elite traits. Size for jump balls and radius for josh allens... we'll call it "inconsistent" ball placement. Speed to create deep separation. Elite ball tracking on deep balls. Something that isnt just - he does a lot of stuff well. -
Josh Allen Snapped at Diggs - Per Tim Graham
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hate media for posting crap stories like this. They just lost... to the jets... on MNF... with rodgers injured on like the first snap of the game. Everyone is pissed off, especially Josh who played like garbage in the game.- 113 replies

interesting WR scenario posed by a friend

To me - depth is the difference between great and good. Players will get hurt. If the players who step in are incapable of getting it done, it ends up showing within your W/L record. -

He has the 13th highest AAV on his contract. He's pretty firmly in the 2nd/3rd tier of TE contracts with players like Henry, Higbee, and Fant. Tier 1 - 14-17M AAV - Kittle, Kelce, Goedert, Andrews, Hockenson, Waller Tier 2 - 12-14M AAV - Engram, Njoku, Kmet, Schultz -

Bad season, and injuries in 2023. His previous 2 seasons he was very good - Catch% in the 70s, 15 TDs across 100 catches or so with about 100 yards. He also has been a very good playoff performer - 70% catch %, 6 TDs and 19 1st downs on 28 catches. His first appearance on the injury report was against the giants, and he went on IR 4 weeks later with the same injury. Things i dont like - drops have been an issue, he has never developed into a field stretcher. Things i like - he is a much better blocker than he was, and he is a physical player. Not sure how many times this guy has bullied his way into the end zone or first down, but its an attribute that goes under the radar sometimes. Also has a knack for making plays in the red zone in general. -

I think the depth at CB, S, DT, and DE are a bit concerning. I hope they draft a back late just to get a cheap option on the books - sick of signing league minimum vets who aren't very good. Safety - still free agents out there that could be interesting options if they decide to add a vet and keep rapp as a 3rd safety. CB - Several late round picks, i'd expect we use one here DT - 3T has a gaping hole behind oliver. Considering the pass rush can be somewhat reliant upon this position, i'd put a quality player on a rookie deal as among the more important things to walk away from in this draft DE - Rousseau is about off his rookie deal, doesn't need to be super high but another position where they need to find someone to contribute today with upside into the future. -
Need maybe two things in this draft
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Buffalo has the following picks in 2024 - 28, 60, 128, 133, 144, 160, 163, 200 or 204, and 248. I don't expect them to draft all of them - but i would think 6-7 picks this year. Use some to move around as add-ons in a deal to move up. I'd put the needs at - WR - Probably 2. I don't think they need to double dip in the first 2 rounds. OL - 2 of our current starters are on rookie deals, but its always smart to invest in this position group because it keeps your QB upright, and physical defensive lines have given us issues come playoff time. Just continue to add here every year. DT - Austin Johnson fills the settle role, but they need a younger player under contract in this rotation at 3T. DE - Depends if Miller ever becomes a useful player again, and what you think of Toohill and Jonathan. Could be a target in the 2nd. CB - Losing dane and Tre. We've had some success with later round picks here and I'd expect 1 or 2 this season. In the past you had benford/elam/jackson so the late round picks had their work cut out for them - but with the depth of ingram and lewis, rookies can definitely make this team. S - Like the guys they grabbed, but middle rounds can find some pretty good players. Depth here is pretty meh. -
I do like his ability to separate when plays break down FWIW... which happens frequently with Allen at QB. I don't see any way we are adding a veteran through trade. Maybe they grab someone post-draft or post-june when they free up some space, but it'd likely be just a 1yr type of stopgap.
-
If you aren't planning to sign, or balking at the price? I would think the giants would be the first team I would call.
-
Would probably be spencer brown if they moved either.

How would you construct the 2024 Bills WR Room?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thomas jr. In a trade up - I think he'll be able to use his speed to be a scramble drill monster. Shakir Samuel Javon baker - I just like watching this guy play.in a deep deep class he might be there later Hollins -
I feel like we do need to add to the lines - either a guard or 3T. Safety is also a possibility for a guy who can potentially start day 1. If they move up and grab someone in the first then I'd expect a 4th to be another WR and you use a pick to manuever your way around to get a guy you like that slips a little. NGL I bet Josh is excited for this draft, i know i am pumped.

Things I like - They are being built to play in december and january. Kincaid and Knox are a real 1-2 punch that can grind games out in the end of season. Hoping a healthy knox can return to form and be a red zone weapon again, and Kincaid can keep the chains moving. I like them to add an offensive lineman in this draft, hopefully someone in the nasty mold. Open to a late round running back as well - I have no issues with cook, but sometimes you can find a gem if you actually give them a chance to play and develop (not sign Murray). Things I don't like - Not only are we weak at the top of the depth chart, but we have like 0 depth at WR. There will be 2 WR's selected in the draft this season who will play meaningful roles - and there will be lumps there. I really do like Shakir as a player - he reminds me a bit of nacua and that guys solid. Curtis Samuel is an interesting piece... but he's just a piece of the puzzle kinda guy. Hollins is your #5/6 special teams guy. There's like 3 open spots - there's no way its as good as a unit that had the same 2 guys in it for 4 years.

Diggs traded to Texans for picks
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
The additional cap hit is... fairly meaningless. Its easier to just look at it like... imagine if he blew out his knee. He's on IR. The cap hits the cap hit - and he doesn't play. -

We tried it in the red zone, never really worked but jump balls are as much a QB thing as a WR thing. Reading corner leverage, etc. They move Kupp around quite a bit, especially with Nacua. Also didn't realize Kupp is on his age 31 season.
