  1. 1 3 and out and 1 drive killed by penalties.... Other than that we've moved the ball a bit. Won't mean a thing if we don't get stops or turnovers
  2. They're getting the ball out fairly quick. We're literally there, not making plays.
  3. Can't double everyone... Why cant anyone handle enunwa...?
  4. The DB's decide where they want to play depending on the situation. it's not typically in the playcall. Playing off on those stops and hitches can result in INTs if he stares them down.
  5. What about Rt. 5 to mckinley? 219/190/90 are always a mess around game times.
  6. If they lose tonight - i'll probably go to more games than i planned to. Tickets usually cheapen up when we suck. Maybe go to that home game against miami in December. Those are always pretty fun.
  7. It's 2 games... They'll play 14 more and hopefully play better
  8. My friend sold tickets for them for a few years. Had nice things to say about everyone there except Russ. Some interesting ones: Chan Gailey played racquetball more than he did anything else. Poz was the biggest gym rat on the team. Lifting all the time even during off hours. Dick Jauron shook every single member of staff's hands on his way out the door after being fired. Was really sad looking pushing his little cart of things to the elevator. Perry Fewell was really funny - didn't act like HC but more like one of the guys in the office. Russ Brandon - Had his own beer at company events, and wouldn't get enough to share. Acted like he owned the place, and treated sales/marketing like they were beneath him. Didn't shake people's hands, and snubbed his wife when he introduced him to her.
  9. Side 3 - i don't like him. I don't care what his role is, get rid of him. Exhibit A - Thought Kerry Collins was a franchise QB (when he was with the Titans) Exhibit B - Wears a Marlins World series ring... every day. He was a marketing assistant - Keep the thing at home or take it out at parties. Exhibit C - He's a weasel. Will deflect blame to everyone but himself when things inevitably go wrong.
  10. And they usually have this like... series of penalties that is just so annoying. Holding on offense, False start, illegal formation. Then defensive holding to give them a first down and make it even. Oh and personal foul on Jerry Hughes - he probably did something.
  11. He should've cut Fred earlier, that was the mistake. And how does releasing a fullback have anything to do with the quality of a gm??
  12. Fire Rex for the guy who rode his defense to the playoffs... And give a 70 something year old dude who's been out of football for years the keys to the car... INSANITY!!!
  13. Pete carroll was 7-9 for 3 years before he did anything. And had been fired in NE. Team's can get better as a coach builds them. Arians took a team that had John Skelton starting and replaced him with Carson Palmer (I think he's a good coach... but that was a 4 game improvement with a massive upgrade at QB). And Harbaugh... well he had this awesome offensive coordinator named Greg Roman. I think Rex is tying his coaching career to this defense. If they can be really good - we can compete. Our offense will obviously need to be better than they were sunday, but i think Rex expects the defense to be better. He doesn't want to give up any big plays - he doesn't want to give up all those 3rd down conversions. I don't think that they are this good, but his goal is to make them the best that they can be. We'll have to win close games - but if you don't give up a lot of points you don't have to score a lot of points. My 2 cents on his philosophy.
  14. Cover 1 guy did a pretty good recap of the 3rd downs if you have the time (Love his website BTW). http://www.cover1.net/2016/09/plenty-of-blame/ Tyrod will get the lions share of the blame (as he should, he was awful) however there were protection breakdowns all over the place, and confusion. Roman's gotta get plays in faster - we have a young qb who needs pre-snap motion and line adjustments to be successful. Blitz pick-ups on third down shouldn't be this big of an issue.
  15. i'll go with paup. Could use some edge pressure.
  16. That QB run one was game for me. We HAD them on that. That should've been a big gain.
  17. We rely on a ton of pre snap motion to recognize what the defense is running. And we can't even line up correctly, let alone motion.
  18. I dunno - math... a lot of them beat each other? We play... a lot better than we did yesterday. Boom we're in
  19. Players missing last year when we beat them: Gilmore Darby (missed most of the game) McCoy Karlos Williams Robert Woods Aaron Williams Kyle Williams Nigel Bradham I don't like our chances - but we somehow pulled it out last year with Rambo, Tarpley, and leodis playing significant time. Any given thursday i suppose.
  20. No... but Atlanta started 6-1 last year and finished 8-8. Teams can look a lot different from week to week. I don't think we're close, but it's probably closer than most think after a single game.
  21. I think they're probably a playoff contender. AFC is kind of weak. Off the top of my head, 5 of these make it. A lot can and will happen as the season goes on. NE, KC, OAK, NYJ, DEN, PIT, BALT, CIN, and yes even BUF Then someone makes it from the South.
  22. I hate this about roman. He tries to make it easy for his QB - but if watkins isn't open, then nobody else is because they're all clustered on one side of the field. When it works, its great because its an easy read. When it doesn't work, your QB scrambles right and legit has no one to throw to.
  23. It was 1 game... and we lost by 6 on the road. If we make a field goal - we push the point spread. Did you think we'd go undefeated?! People on this board are literally losing their minds. Do i think we're good right now? No. However - if everyone followed this fire everyone mantra, ron rivera would have been fired. Pete Carroll would have been fired.
