  1. I think what the OP is trying to say is - TT is getting lit up on the boards from people stating that his performance in this game was unacceptable. This is a take that - stats don't tell the whole story for this particular game. This takes a look at some of the plays left on the table that would've extended a few of those 3 and outs. That means more chances for Shady, Gillislee, and probably at least 4 or 5 more passing attempts.
  2. The hunter play was barely a route. Hit the back line and try and get open. Make sure to stay in bounds.
  3. We run triple option's at the goalline. We are fairly unconventional.
  4. At least we also rank 32 in passing attempts per game... We're middle of the road when it comes to completion percentage, TDs, and Sacks. Just a product of our offense I guess.
  5. I agree too. What I keep saying is - what if there isnt someone we like in 1/2? We'll probably roll with the 2 we have, and maybe look at an experienced backup.
  6. Those are "TT" numbers - but you have to help your QB out and catch passes. We had 3 or 4 drops that would've extended drives. All of those 3 stats are reflective of a receiver catching the pass. If people drop 3rd downs and we punt, we get less chances to pass and improve the %. YPA is a reflection of Comp% and total yards. We missed a deep ball that would boost that number. Just like W-L isn't a QB stat, neither are any of those.
  7. Yeah - i haven't watched them much but i assume its a lot of the chip kelly read option stuff. We run a bit of read option/speed option ourselves too. I'd honestly like to see more.
  8. And in the previous 2 he had 1 catch for 3 yards...
  9. Those are the big plays we love about him though - If someone gets free there its a big play. No problem taking the extra 3-5 yards with our kicking game. It ends being a point of contention since he hit clay in the red zone - but if its incomplete its a 40 something yarder instead of a 50ish.
  10. I can't really remember the baltimore and NYJ games - but i can safely say i remember TT playing poorly. This past sunday? I know he missed the deep ball, but that happens, no one completes everything especially under pressure. But 12/23 - with 3 or 4 notable drops. And at least 3 or 4 throwaways. And another weird one where he was running a full sprint to his left and tried to hurl it across his body. I just don't think he played that bad. Goodwin's drop on 2nd and 3 - gotta have that. Woods Drop on a jailbreak blitz for an easy first down - how does no one bring that into the discussion? TT reads the blitz, delivers a perfect pass into Woods hands in stride and he can't pull it in. He pulls it in and its 3 more plays. Powell dropped another one on a 3rd down pass - hit him in the hands. That's another 3 more plays. I'd complain about the 2 minute offense, but honestly it was a vast improvement over previous one's so i won't even get into it. The end game "4-Minute" offense needs Powell to pull in that 3rd down one though. They really struggled after LA starting blitzing. But a lot of that was blocking issues up front, and free runners coming in. He started to get rid of the ball quicker, but then the drops started happening.
  11. Do we then Roll with Cardale and a rookie? Is that an improvement? We're also going to have to trade up if we want to get one of the top 3... Since Cleveland, Miami, NYJ, 49ers, and bears all need a QB. And all project to finish below us in the standings. So now were looking at 2 1st rounders for one of Kaaya, Kizer, or Watson. Or we can grab a later talent... and just throw them out there? Or we can go after mid-round stuff like kelly, and just hope he's an improvement?
  12. My thought - we could probably throw more if we wanted to. We clearly don't want to.
  13. I've yet to see a realistic suggestion for a solution for both this year - and moving forward. Drafting someone in the first round not to play them - doesn't seem like it helps us when we clearly need help at WR, and probably corner. EJ walks, and Cardale moves into the #2 most likely. But I've honestly not seen him practice and prepare day to day, so i have no idea what he looks like. But assuming we finish near at or near a wild-card i would expect nothing to change going into next year. The dead money in 2017 and 2018 isn't bad - so we aren't bound to the guy at all really. If a better opportunity were to present itself - someone we like falls in the draft or something... then we can have the conversation at that point. But for the forseeable future - he's our dude. Also - I thought TT played well all 3 of the last weeks. Week 3 he had a bunch of rushing yards. Week 4 we took care of business and didn't turn the ball over to a NE defense that feasts off turnovers. And Week 5 we had some drops that would've resulted in both first downs, and a bunch of extra yards.
  14. The Cowboys can't really trade or cut Romo. His entire cap hit for next year is basically pre-paid bonuses. They either keep him for like a 26 cap hit, or cut/trade for a 25 mil cap hit. Their best hope is that he retires.
  15. Would help if woods and Goodwin could catch. He certainly has flaws, but our pass blocking has not been as good as our run blocking... and we have the worst WRs in the league. We probably should have the worst passing offense in the NFL.
  16. Phil rivers has a full no trade clause. He would rather get cut and choose where he wants to go. But he has like 8 kids and probably likes San Diego. Romo can't be traded. They've restructured his deal too many times. Anyone else...? The guys our qb for this year. And most likely next year unless Whaley and Rex are fired.
  17. I don't hate it - sometimes you catch a defense off guard. Powell should have caught that pass as well. As for the end of half - i would've called a timeout after the woods play. You get a fresh play call in - and TT may not get coverage sacked right after. Either that or clock it since it was first down.
  18. My thoughts - Where he's pretty solid: Extending plays Not turning the ball over Options/zone read - Keeps his eyes up field well during these. Throwing on the run (no one's perfect at this, but he's made some of his better plays this year on the move) Doesn't seem rattled Where he needs to improve: Ball placement - Too many lost yards by missing a guy in stride Pre-snap reads/adjustments - If clay's running an option slant over the middle in the red zone, you may want to adjust your read to make that the primary... etc. Decision-making - He can hold the ball a bit waiting for his guy to get open, rather than throw them open. A lot of this is reps and routine (knowing where your guy is going to be), which we're currently scrambling with all of our changes. Footwork - Needs to step up in the pocket more when its there. Teams are playing more contain to try and keep him in there, use that additional time to set your feet and deliver better passes. We did more designed roll-outs to address pressure against STL since they were gashing us with blitzes. His footwork seems to be more consistent on these plays (even though almost all of them were just chucked out of bounds).
  19. You play off because Keenum is basically just throwing 8 yard outs all game - when you time it right, and he times it wrong - its a pick 6. It also allows you to keep your eyes on the QB and cheat a bit. Once he threw that pick 6 the whole game was off the rails for them.
  20. p We struggled on third down for sure, but their blitz was creating problems. We tried to address this by doing designed roll outs, and no one was open, so a lot of those were chucked out of bounds. Goodwin, Powell, and woods all dropped easy first downs. The 2 minute drill sack was the one where he needs to get his clock moving a bit faster. He could've made a play with his legs there.
  21. The last 2 punters we played were legit 2 of the best in football. Booming high long punts. Hekkers hang time was consistently a full second better than schmidt
  22. That was a not trusting the line issue, they were on him all game. Good read, bad footwork. Woods also dropped a wide open slant, and Goodwin couldn't pull in a 1st down catch either. I think Powell should have pulled in the one to him as wel.Threw a bunch away rather than force anything. Not a good game, but 0 turnovers and solid red zone work means a win.
  23. They blitzed a bunch in the end of the first and the 2nd. Goodwin and woods gotta pull in those tough catches because those passes were on target. We started moving the pocket more to adjust for the blitzes, didn't make much of a difference, but Eliminates turnover potential.
  24. Tyrol played poorly, but a couple drops hurt us on third downs and we had some blocking issues that didn't help our cause. At least he was money in the red zone. And no turnovers. Decent enough 2 minute drill. Wins a win!
  25. Yeah not a good start to have McCoy lose 4 on first... Meanwhile the defense picked up where they left off, sucking.
