  1. I believe its so you have less substitutions for the kick
  2. Team sport - yadda yadda yadda. In either case - He's a fine QB. That isn't to be argued. We'd be better off with him than without him. But he was the 1st overall pick, and was and never will be available. Finding a similar player without 1st overall picks is difficult. Trading for top 5 picks can be risky. As much as everyone loves Wentz, and he has looked the part, he was sailing throws and had happy feet against the Giants. He threw a pretty brutal pick as well, and the team has lost 4 of 5.
  3. And when have the Lions ever been lucky? OK, so the Vikings missed an extra point Sunday, and their coach called a late time-out that gave the Lions a little extra time, and their coach also gambled by ceding the middle of the field on the Lions’ final drive, because Matthew Stafford and Co. had no time-outs, and the Vikings bet the house that Stafford couldn’t complete a deep pass down the seam and get the clock stopped in time to attempt a field goal. Sounds more like the Vikings blew it Bills style... Sign me up! Where do we sign him? Honestly - i have an irrational hatred of Stafford because he looks like an old roommate who skipped out on rent... But he is an 8th year starter with the same team, and grew into this comeback role. His first 2 years didn't seem to put out the comeback kid vibe. He's turned out to be a pretty good player though - so good for him. His cap hit is also higher than TT's will be, and he's in line for a raise.
  4. Honestly, the 2 graham TDs and the bomb were great plays. Great throws and catches. You can't cover everything on every play. If you cover deep stuff, they'll dink and dunk. If you try to prevent the dink/dunk then they can burn you over the top. When you look at what they did the rest of the way - they couldnt run the ball at all, and most of their passing attack was based on miscommunications on our defense. Graham/baldwin being wide open way too often.
  5. I think go with the route that some other teams do.... use multiple players there. Why does it have to be one or the other?
  6. Same with the 4th down throw at the end of the game. Somehow a 3 man rush flushed him very quickly (mills..! UGH), and he threw where woods was going to be The 2 min drill before half i thought he did pretty well there taking some good shots. Not just the 5-10 yard stuff, but the 20-30 yard over the middle gains.
  7. Watching the replay on that 4th down end of game throw. Where else does he go with the ball? To clay on the 5 yard line and hope he gets in? To powell who was knocked on his ass? Or to the RB who was a good 10 yards from the end zone? That ball HAS to go to the end zone. And honestly - if woods isn't bumped off his line by thomas, he very well might have caught it.
  8. And the key was making wilson go through progressions, and generate pressure. When he could just sling it we were getting killed. But if Kearse catches that TD it's a whole different discussion.
  9. The ones that stick out in my mind where he had a good shot and blew it - Eagles, Chiefs last year. And Baltimore/Seattle this year. All away games too. I will say that the 2 minute offense looked much better. In the first half he drove the ball with some middle of the field throws and got us in position to score. We shouldve had points at the end of each half.
  10. yeah - we had some definite communication issues and breakdowns. A few delay of game penalties, and that INT were what jump out at me after the fact.
  11. 4th and goal from the 15? It's tough because ref's keeping the flags in their pockets and apparently its cool to lay out receivers before the qb throws the ball. Woods also got bumped in the endzone off his line. I can't recall where they teach that tackling technique... cuz they don't teach it. Anywhere...
  12. Weren't any notable drops that i can remember.
  13. And when you consider the following: Bortles/Mariota/Winston/Wentz/Prescott/Carr/Siemien are all on rookie deals... it pays him towards the bottom of the league.
  14. If you retaliate, you're the one who always gets the punishment. Either fines, suspensions, or both. In hockey, if you do this kind of crap someone tries to fight you. And you still get the fines/suspensions/both. Also, seeing the teams more often means i can get some revenge later. We won't see sherman anytime soon, so he can get away with it. And by the time we do see him again, we'll be a different team. I think the goal was to beat them on the scoreboard, by NOT getting stupid retaliation penalties. And we almost did all things considered.
  15. You can't hit a player after a whistle. We may as well have just had someone run sherman over when he was standing on the sidelines. It's the same context.
  16. I liked the amount of instant replays, as well as some of the skycam replays. Makes for a better experience than the C-team crew on CBS at 1. They don't show replays, and don't even know the players names.
  17. I think it was Thomas, but he totally knocked Woods off his path to the ball.. Who know's what happens there if he doesn't?
  18. Great players lose that game too. It's the best defense in the NFL. The 3rd down sack was on mills, and pretty much cost them the game.
  19. His new contract pays him as the 18th highest paid qb in the league. Seems relatively fair, especially when considering how little the rookies are paid. My guess is we'll be having these conversations for another 2 years at least.
  20. Huge completion on 3rd and 21. We wasted 2 plays in the red zone, and got sacked quickly on 3rd. I don't worry about time there. U have to score. Just score.
  21. The 3rd down sack killed us. And it was on the line. Whatever adjustments we made must've worked... but 28 in one half was brutal.
  22. Very poorly officiated. But it's Seattle, they always hold. And it's home, so nothing is called.
