  1. Goodwin, hunter, Woods, EJ manuel, Lorenzo Alexander, Zach Brown, Douzable... we have quite a few UFAs.
  2. Yeah - thats a tough offer... Assuming we aren't super active in free agency/only go for cap casualties - we probably get a comp 3rd or 4th for him
  3. Yeah but having played a bunch of sports, lack of effort is always something that irks me. Getting fired up is fine, but not running out a grounder or fly ball shows me you're just in it for yourself. I doubt he would've caught up to him, nor would it have mattered if he did, but i can't stand someone quitting on a play.
  4. Typically I'd agree. But when your playmaker's aren't that good, and he's a very dynamic running threat, he may actually be the best open field threat we have on the team. I see it to a point, but people get injured all the time in the NFL. The playing surface is probably responsible for as many injuries as hard hits and stuff. That and all the muscle strains, pulls, and tears that happen.
  5. If we traded him right now for a pick, much like New England did with Collins for similar reasons. How would everyone feel?
  6. Just needs to do a better job of taking what they give you. If they give you deep shots, go ahead and take them. But i doubt deep stuff is open when you're down 3 scores vs. new england. He was trying to drop dimes between the corner safety and sideline. Your chance that it be incomplete is so high it isn't worth the risk. Very rarely are there no high safeties (situation where you absolutely can throw deep because the ball can float inside or outside shoulder and you still don't have the chance of int's). And very rarely are we taking these on 1st and 2nd downs (when they may anticipate a run or when we can execute PA). We're chucking it deep on 3rd and 3 with an easy first down in front of us. Know the down and distance, know the stakes, and pick your battles. Run more if it means more first downs. Which will probably mean more points and TOP.
  7. I assume for veteran minimum...?
  8. I didn't like lynch really where he went either. I think we should bring in more competition. We can't hand #1 to TT, or #2 to cardale. They should all be competing. If you were the Coach and the GM took away your QB, you'd expect them to call you and say i have a plan beyond... uhhh chad kelly?! Especially after what went down in NY. Sanchez was not good, but i think he expected something beyond Geno Smith.
  9. I think I'm getting to the point where i don't really care what his long term sustainability is. If he's going to be our QB beyond this year, he has to do something to help us win games. Rex clearly like's him, so he'll probably stick if Rex sticks. You aren't guaranteed to be more likely to get injured because you run. Rg3 hurt his knee in crappy grass, not running down the middle of the field or getting lit up by a linebacker. I think wilson got his foot stepped on. Vick was constantly banged up i feel, but he never really learned to slide. He also got injured a few times in the pocket. I'd say Vick/Kaepernick are the most similar comparisons to Tyrod. You can probably get to the playoffs with him, but you need other things to go well. My only concern then becomes short term. Rex would be involved in the decision should he stay - he's not going to want to go into next year with Cardale. It's Geno all over again - even if Cardale is better - he'll look at it as a lame duck year.
  10. Unless they planned on being active in Free agency this year. In which case the comp pick of losing collins could be offset by acquiring say Jeffrey or something
  11. Woof then. He needs to ease up on the 1/15 deep ball type of games then. I'm not a big stats guy, but in all of our losses this year - he was ineffective. I think he honestly needs to run more, and not worry about getting hurt. I know it's not college etc. But you watch some of the more athletic QBs in college, and they do a great job of taking what the defense gives you.
  12. Hey - does a throwaway count as a "bad pass"? I can't tell from the way they present the data. This is all they say: Quarterback Bad Pass Percentage measures the percentage of a quartebacks pass attempts that were considered to be poorly thrown (otherwise known as un-catchable) and leads to an incompleted pass. Part of the reason I ask is that he throws it away WAY too much while trying to find people. He needs to use his legs more and just get positive yards. I hate when he scrambles, has a path towards a possible first down and chucks it 50 yards to hunter only for it to be incomplete. If you have one man to beat for the marker, try and beat him to the marker!
  13. I could have seen a victory if Seattle hadn't dropped an NFC game to New Orleans a week ago. Now i just see them more ready to play, no let down. I see them absolutely stacking the box against us and daring us to pass. Tyrod is going to have to play well for us to even have a chance, and i doubt it. On the plus side, their offense has been bad at pretty much everything in the past few weeks. Their line is awful, they don't have dynamic playmakers, and their backs are banged up and not that good. Wilson being hobbled also definitely hinders what they're trying to do. Seattle wins a snoozefest 12-6.
  14. Sure - will agreeing with you get you to not flip out?
  15. Seriously... why would anyone WANT to play QB here?
  16. So now we blame Tyrod for Watkins foot injury. And Clays Knee Injuries. And McCoys Hamstring. Probably had something to do with Dareus too...
  17. I like that they call it that way in college almost every time. They don't blow the whistle, and review every turnover anyway. So if its a pass it doesn't matter, but you don't end up with hoculi situations that cost a team a game.
  18. Somewhat unfair to evaluate Whaley against what like 6 gms before him failed to do. The drafting strategy needs to include more qbs, specifically the ones you really like. But you can't use one of your top 2 picks on a qb every year. Fact is we never should've drafted ej. We should've traded back, and for picks in 2014. Either we very poorly evaluated him, or Brandon needed something to sell to the fan base. I trend towards the latter
  19. It's also hard to win. Against the patriots. A team that wins 12 every year, wins the division every year, and goes to the AFC championship every year.
  20. And strong armed Amendola into taking a massive paycut.
  21. Seems like Bill still trades them. He just likes to get something in return when he's going to lose a player anyway.
  22. I assume their intention is to extend him. They have the payroll to frontload this and have him be the face of their Defense for the next several years. Their top 3 cap hits are haden, thomas, and tramon williams at the end of deals. I assume they cut RG3, McCown or both, and draft someone #1 overall. They drafted several WRs so they should have some depth there. I believe they will try to extend Pryor as well. Crowell and Duke aren't a bad pair of backs. They have 5 of the first 65 picks in the draft, including the likely #1 overall pick. 3 other comp picks in rounds 4/5. And a ton of young people under cheap contracts. Next year is fill out the roster with more talent. The year after that, they probably make some FA splashes to try and make the jump.
  23. This year they really can't. Next year they can split it up between 17/18. It helps when your new QB's cap hit is so absurdly low.
  24. I'm 50/50. I have wilson in fantasy, and he has been a massive bust. So i assume he'll beat buffalo to pour it on me. Other part of me thinks that offense is just bad, and will have problems with our defense.
