If Bills dump Taylor, where does he end up?

Gashed in the run game, and we got very few turnovers. -
1-5: Tyrod Taylor is Having Surgery Today

I normally ignore everything you say - but here goes anyway... Dallas had the best rush defense in the NFL... GB also had a very strong rush defense. In the playoffs this is very important. It's tackling, the most basic function of football defense. And we suck at it. Miami lucked into the playoffs by Baltimore failing. They're not good. Atlanta, and Oakland had poor defenses. They also have all-world offenses. If we have the ability to get Matt Ryan or Carr i pull the trigger. I do want to upgrade the QB position, but the draft is a lottery pick. And going into the draft with no QB is a recipe to get jumped and not get the QB you want. All the free agents are crap. Tell me your brilliant plan, and i'll counter with why it won't happen. PS Roman didn't throw screens with Alex Smith in SF... So i don't think its part of his offense. -
Rivers not interested in LA - nevermind he is

My main agrument here - is he a hall of famer? 5 playoff appearances in 13 seasons. 4 wins. Never even been to a super bowl. Been in 1 AFC chamiponship. I dunno - I guess he'll be rewarded for Longevity - but in his era you have: Brady, Peyton, Eli, Big Ben, Rodgers, Brees... How many QBs from 1 era get into the hall? -
Proposed new penalty, and rules for review

Yeah - how much would it be to throw a bunch of dudes into a room to watch football all sunday/monday? Each one gets a game, multiple camera angles and can review a call right into the refs. There's very rarely more than what - 8 or 9 games going on at a single time. What would you have to pay these guys like 60k a year? Put em in buffalo, and you could probably pay them less. They legit only work during football season - and in the offseason you could require them to complete some i dunno testing scenarios or something. Make them go into an office if only to make sure that they aren't drinking on football sundays. -

How does this address the referee's who keep blowing the calls? -
1-5: Tyrod Taylor is Having Surgery Today

The issue for me is timing. We can't sign or trade someone until the league year begins. So that window is extremely tight to make a move and move on from Tyrod. If day 3 comes and we don't have anyone we're at a bit of a crossroads. Do we cut him full well knowing we don't have another starter on the roster? The draft isn't until May - so if the plan is to cut Tyrod and draft someone, we may be forced to move up since everyone will know we're going QB. At the very least, a team may look to jump us in the 2nd if we don't go QB in round 1. -

I want to bring Tyrod back so that the haters can have to endure 2 more years of him. Their hate is so much stronger than my like of... pretty much anything. -

Denver's a wildcard to me, they could be in play for any QB at this point. New coach, but I don't think they're handing the keys to Lynch after last year. They were a playoff team with better QB play. -

hmm - where are the destinations other than buffalo? Cleveland LA Chargers if they trade rivers - reunite with Lynn (doubtful) Houston Denver San Francisco NYJ Jax Wash if they move on from Kirk (doubtful) Chicago Arizona (palmer insurance) LA rams - the guy who they drafted might still need some seasoning or a backup who can give them a spark Of all that? I could see Denver or Houston making a solid push. They believe that they have playoff rosters, and the QB position held them back. Both can also low-ball a bit. If Tyrod wants to win, he goes to one of them. Arizona could be a dark horse too. Palmer's getting up there, and if he goes down their season goes kaput. -
Harrison is obviously juiced

When my friend worked for buffalo, he said this guy was always in the gym fwiw -
No interest in chan. Offense looked played out in New York. I also don't want to recycle our own trash, let alone the jets trash...

Remember - his option bonus has not triggered yet. We'd only pay the remainder of his signing bonus that was split over 4 years through 2020. The base salary for next year is also not guaranteed until he's on the team on that 3rd day. At that point the full 2017 base is guaranteed, the option bonus is paid out, and 3.25 million of 2018 salary is guaranteed. Basically you're dropping 30.25 mil on him next year, and 40 over the next 2 because you wouldn't cut him if you kept him beyond this year. Once we trigger the option bonus its 3.1 million spread out over 5 years of the cap.
-
His cap hit for the next 2 years is 15 and 16. Then we'd have the option to release him for about 10M hit split over 2 years. If he somehow made it 3 years without restructuring we could cut him for a negligible loss. Not that much different than 10-12 mil per year. You don't extend a player you expect to cut - you're just delaying the inevitable dead cap hit. A restructuring would mean a whole entire new contract most likely. The option bonus hasn't kicked in yet, so you'd be looking at a new option bonus, or signing bonus, or converting something to a roster bonus for this year.
-
They would have to extend him or he'd have to take a pay cut.
