I posted their 3rd down conversion %, not their 3 and out %. Sorry for the confusion. My thing is - its pretty clear we struggle with the blitz - especially well disguised blitzes. So we need some hot plays to call to get the ball out in the flats quicker. This is like - not in the playbook for our offense though.

That was 2 over like 8 or 9 years. This is our next 2 - when we have holes all over the roster.

Now I'm going to sound like a TT superfan - but let me be clear. We could walk away and i wouldn't be heart-broken, and we could keep him and I wouldn't hate it. I'm just sort of blah with the whole situation. However that are some things that have concerned me about the G-RO offense. 1 - So little screen game (weve been blitzed a ton recently, and it would go a long way to have a few quick bubble screens to help push back against the blitz). I know Sammy is not 100%, but A.brown makes a living off those little quick hitters right off the snap. He makes you play closer so he can get behind you. Also - some of these are like glorified running plays... the stats count as passing numbers for the QBs, but it really is to just get a guy in space. 2 - very little under center offense (which i think makes for a more effective play action passing attack). The Shotgun PA's we run seem to be PA in name only. Nobody is biting on that - McCoy is often switching sides back there too throwing this off even more. 3 - too many formations (takes forever to get lined up), like no 2 minute offense because of that. Also lots of substitutions for specific personnel match These were all issues in San Francisco under Roman as well - (http://fansided.com/2013/11/14/49ers-o-coordinator-greg-roman-blames-self-passing-woes/). We brought in the coordinator and playbook of some of the worst passing offenses in the NFL - why are we surprised that it's continued? I don't know how much better or worse TT would be in a more conventional offense, but i do wonder if some of the issues above have contributed to the low passing numbers.

Right but if he played about as well as the previous year - he hits the open market and we're forced to franchise him. You can't let your starting QB walk if he's showed enough. This had as much to do with Gilmore as Tyrod. We needed the tag for Gilly.

We're a mediocre offense in general. We're a running team and struggle when we can't run. We don't have any quick hitting passing game, very little screen game (long developing TE/RB screens are the only i recall seeing). Those are little "free" yards a lot of QBs get for teams that can't run it as well. WR screens, RB screens, bubble screens, little drag and slant routes.

Yup. I seemed to remember shaq chasing his guys to the edge, and the edge lb is like steps behind him. It's gap discipline, and i don't think PB has it.

Is that enough to get it done? If he's passing physicals, I think the offers going to be pretty high. I don't think Jerry trades him to a team unless he gives the OK.

I'd like to add like... a bit more to our offense. I don't mind run-first/ground and pound, but occasionally we try to get too pretty with it.

What is the romo price though?

I dunno if they move him - he's a cheap backup QB, and those are important to teams with playoff aspirations. I suppose they'd consider it if the price was right as that is pretty much Daltons team.

Unfortunately i picked this - and he has all the leverage in the situation so unfortunately that means overpaying him. Wouldn't make him the first overpaid/underperformer on our team...

He has a full NTC - so i think hes out. If he's released (which i doubt they ever do)- he picks his landing spot.

I think it'd be pretty funny if they told him he was fired, and then by some miracle we get to the playoffs. Then they give him a mandate that he's definitely coming back.... then we get blown out by like 40 wildcard weekend. Total bills move.

Thought the same thing on another thread. I think i decided on knee... it's more likely to carry over into 2017 :-D.

I liked seeing some offset I-formation runs, misdirection. Get felton moving with a full head of steam.

I don't really think its a major drop off tbh. Moore's been there a while so he should be familiar with all the playbooks, coaching changes - etc. I think i go for his knees instead of his head. But that's me.

To be fair - the saints defense is still 27th in yards allowed and 30th in points allowed. I don't know if it was entirely Rob in that situation...

Started using McCoy and Felton a bit differently to help create mismatches. Why did it take this long to do things like this? Also saw TT throw a seam pass to O'leary in this one. It was broken up, but hey - he threw one right?!

By record it would be Wade Phillips, with Rex Ryan right behind him at 15-15. If Rex loses out he ties Marrones 15-17. Also I hated Marrone's teams. Run-Run-Pass-Punt

I still liked the picks because while they were "need" guys, they were also value picks to a point. Shaq was supposedly listed on our draft board as a top 10 talent. Ragland was the last guy we had a 1st round grade on. It worked that they were need players, but they also both project to be solid contributors.

And yet - they've scored 13 points over the last 2 games. And he had 2 lousy games against San Diego. There's a good chance they miss the playoffs. There's also a pretty good percentage of people that think it would largely rest on his shoulders.

Seems to be around the ball a fair amount. People act like Hughes is constantly making plays in the backfield, etc. I saw him get some push a few times and push the pocket. He is not gonna be von Miller. Pff gave him our 5th highest grade on d in the last game fwiw
