So no keuchley and no norman made for a rough year.

Isn't it primarily zone cover 3? So very corner dependent... They let the #1 zone corner in the league walk.

3 Best and Worst Whaley Moves
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the worst moves would be 1 - trading up for Sammy - too much given up for a non-QB 2 - Drafting tons of guys with "character" concerns (drug offenses). Looks bad in the media when your team keeps having players suspended 3 - trading up too much in the draft in general. We don't draft prescott because we don't have a 4th round pick - because we used it to get Ragland. I'm saying we couldn't move the comp pick we had. Moving up to get Ragland was classic Whaley though. I NEEEED this guy so im going to overspend to get him. Even though i want a developmental QB too. -

Not exactly... we drafted Cardale shortly thereafter in the same round. Perhaps our grade on Dak was higher than Cardale. We couldn't move up to even get Dak unless we traded 2017 picks. As for Wilson - TJ graham. That's the guy we moved up to get. A guy most people had a lower than 3rd round grade on. And rightfully so, as he is out of the NFL. Great job nix! We traded up for a bad player that no one wanted. Blame Whaley for ignoring QBs? Blame Nix too. -

Doesn't matter?! the reason we pass on wilson is because we have fitz! He also brought in Chan Gailey - who was a joke when he was hired and a joke when he was fired. We never won more than 6 games during Nix's time here. And he oversaw the 2010 draft - we legit have 0 players from 2010 on the roster. People complain we don't have enough drafted players... thats why! That's 6 years ago... we extended 0 players from that draft. -

How bout Ragland hit's the field before we call him horrible. Also - i though dolph looked good early until the season wore on him. -

Extended Fitz. Drafted Spiller in the 1st - and oversaw the rest of that 2010 debacle. Drafted Maybin in the 1st. Drafted EJ in the 1st. Troup over Gronk. Dareus over Green. Oh, and trading up for graham over russell wilson. There are some good things sprinkled in there (Gilmore, even if he likely walks. Wood and Byrd are pretty good in the 2nd. Glenns been good. Even Kiko). But i see a lot of wasted draft capital and money. We also re-signed like none of our free agents during these years. Blue Chippers - Shady, Watkins, Kyle Williams, Dareus, Glenn - maybe Incognito, Gilmore, Hughes So he brought in Dareus and Glenn. But I'm not really going to give him credit for hitting on the 3rd overall pick. That's supposed to be an impact player. Gilmore's been pretty good, and the Hughes trade was a steal. -

I give Nix 0 credit for anything. The man was clueless. -

The Hogan tender was a $$$ issue. We had to Glenn tagged at the time of RFA tenders, so we were right up at the cap. We non-tendered Rambo and Charles for the same reason. The difference was about 1 million i think from 2nd round tender to no comp. tender, and we had no ability to match his offer sheet with NE. -

Costs more to get rid of Dareus than to keep him. -

Seemed like he bottomed out by the end too. He was getting worse as the year went on. But statistically last in basically both categories... not a ton of return yardage true - but the net average is what you're really looking at there. -
Brian Hoyer anybody?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Either way - He was benched because he was playing poorly. They went manziel for the last 3 games searching for a spark. It all comes down to QB in this league. If you think Tyrod and Hoyer are equivalent - I would say go Hoyer. But Hoyer may not come here... Tyrod is under contract so he's a sure thing. Also - if you think you have the slightest chance of ending this ridiculous playoff drought with Tyrod, you have to pull the trigger. It's embarassing and a stain to the franchise. -

Yeah - my only thought is that the numbers don't lie. Guys a RFA for next year. Do we even tender him? -

Schmidt just doesn't have the big leg that all the better punters have. I would at the very least bring in someone to compete. I'm not saying like spend tons of money to get someone better. But i look at justin tucker and Hekkers numbers and wonder if they might have actually stolen a game or two this year... Our kicking and punting cost us a couple on the opposite side of the coin. -

19-25 on the year. 4-9 from 40+, and 1-2 from 50+. He sucks at kickoffs (41.7% TB, and 21.6 yard return average - This ones tricky because it doesn't state average drive start off a kickoff but i think we can all agree it's not his strength)... He also missed 5 XPs this year (40-45). Colton Schmidt had the lowest average punt distance in the NFL at 42.4 He also had the 2nd lowest net at 38.1. How can you not say upgrading these guys should be somewhat of a priority? They are the worst in the league. -
Anyone know who we can sign to upgrade our Kicker and Punter? I don't even want to bring in young competition... I want to full on replace both with people who have consistently done their job better.

And he's still in the hall of fame, his #4 is still retired, and he's still on the building... It would be more like him sending it to a lady friend, and said lady friend sending it to a female jets reporter actually. Since he's not the one who sent it to goodell. -

I feel like it was probably a funny NSFW video. Like the kind of thing my buddies and i would attach on a group text to get a laugh. -
Deshaun Watson is the answer

I believe his theory is - using a single game as evidence that a player is amazing is not an accurate judge of their future abilities in the NFL. -

Long time until the draft... QBs value typically just goes up. Cle, SF, Jax, NYJ, and CHI all need QBs... there's a pretty decent chance that 3 come off the board before 10. If that happens you almost have to go BPA. -
Hire Matt Patricia!!!
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to ROONDOGG55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just feel like his team's success right now is entirely attributed to what Romeo has going on that side of the ball. They're missing their MVP and still fielding a great defense. They spent a ton on a QB, and he made their offense worse. -

Bill O'brien isn't like Romeo... But Romeo is the DC in Houston... -
Go one further and you have a draft where no one should have gone in the first 50 picks... so 2 out of the last 4...

Rob Quinn on Trubisky replacing Tyrod
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Maury Ballstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep - if we trade for #1 overall... there's a decent chance were trading the 10th pick, a top 10 pick next year... and quite possibly a 3rd one in 2019...
