  1. If you tender him at 2nd round pick - he makes 2.7 million... 1.3 less than the deal he just signed. And you only get 1 year of control. More importantly, when you are negotiating with someone typically you don't want to start at essentially your AAV cut off.
  2. The only argument for keeping him that makes sense to me - is planning on cutting McCoy in 2018.
  3. It's 2 years of control... at a fairly high cap hit in year 1. If we sign a UDFA, or draft someone in rds 5-7 we pay them significantly less, for longer control. If we keep him - its a sign that McCoy is gone next season. If we draft someone in rounds 2-4, i could see McCoy still on the chopping block next year. Yeah - same here regarding hogan. We signed him off the scrap heap, I think I assumed one of the scrap heap guys we signed (Salas, Little, Boykin) would just fill the gap.
  4. They've been solid since they hired parcells. Carroll was OK there, but obviously a solid coach. Then the ultimate parcells disciple in belichick (and the greatest head coach of all time). Coaches clearly make a major difference. Maybe this new guy will be good... All we can really hope for at this point.
  5. If we gave him 2nd round compensation the cap hit was 3 million instead of 4... and there's no year 2.

  7. The 2nd round tender boosts the starting point for extension negotiations. At that point he's almost guaranteed to be a UFA in 2018. We can have him for 2, or someone else for 4. I may tend towards keeping him... just because we draft so terribly in the late rounds.
  8. Does he push us to the playoffs this year?
  9. Ha - i'll eat my words on this one. I guess what i mean to say is - F Tom brady for making so little against the cap, and allowing them to absorb bad contracts for good players.
  10. Amendola took another pay cut to stay with the team too. How many bills have done that? Oh right - just our QB.
  11. It doesn't matter who their running back is - he's going to run all over us. It's a committee approach. They have White, lewis, bolden burkhead, maybe gillislee. It never mattered before they beat us anyway.
  12. I'm aware of how it's structured. It was structured with the idea of keeping him on the roster, and freeing up cap space for 2017. if you cut him next year you can split 8.5 over two years. Or just restructure again...
  13. ummm his cap hit this year is only 9 million to be our starting QB.
  14. Everyone's argument is why don't we get a franchise QB... As if there is 0 focus on it. We only brought in like every single QB for a visit. I think we're looking into it guys.
  15. But if you want to negotiate an extension he has a higher starting value.
  16. He definitely needs to step it up - but im 100% picking up the option. We have the worst WR depth in the league and with him gone it would get even worse.
  17. I thought orakpo would've been picked already so I did pick maybin as our most likely pick. I've been turned off of tweeters ever since. Should've remembered Erik flowers. Who do u pick outside a qb?
  18. Agreed - takes a bit of the drama away from us as we will most likely not take one... but we'll get a huge impact player at 10 which is nice
  19. I don't see it either - but i also don't think they shouldn't consider it. Bortles stinks, and Rivers isn't getting any younger..
  20. He wasn't going to be a free agent though... so it is completely illegal tampering. If a team wanted to explore a trade they could do so. But as for talking to another team, its not going to get past the "if he's a free agent id be very interested" stage. So you can't get down to the numbers really until you're a free agent. If you're going to be a UFA, it's obviously a little bit looser. Team's have alreayd put their offers in, and players have already rejected them.
  21. Kiko had an off-field issue if i recall.... I didn't like Jordan much - let alone the trade up. Funny that none of the players involved int his trade are with Miami or Oakland anymore... 2013 was a weird draft.
  22. If he plays out all 4 years...? which like no one ever does. Especially anyone on Miami. Dannell ellerbe got 35 million over 5 years... and was paid what 14 over 2? Guarantee's are all that matter anymore.
  23. He may never play again, and you'd have to eat Tyrod's bonus and U'd make that trade?? Insanity... Don't get the Bridgewater love... he doesn't impress me and his numbers are like Tyrod's minus the rushing yards. Never threw for more than 14 TDs in a season, and had the best running back in the NFL.
  24. It's sad that this is a major upgrade at #2 QB over the past few seasons...
