  1. Getting rid of Duke and Meeks was a start... Graham is currently at a 1.6 million cap hit to not play for us... He clearly wasn't willing to take a pay cut. Byrd can't tackle, which is important in a Jim Johnson style defense.
  2. He's the best blocking back in pass protection. Sorry guy - but he's probably going to see the field a bunch this year. And he's a big fall forward style chain mover. I think we can use a guy like that.
  3. Having played touch football at the rose garden with a live DJ blasting music in the background; I can safely say once you are on the field, this has 0 effect on performance.
  4. Didn't we just cut graham because he wasn't playing to his moderate contract? And Has Levy or Flowers played a full season recently? What about the end of Byrd's tenure here makes you want to bring him back? After signing harvin TWICE to terrible contracts and watching him cash in on IR, I should hope someone with the organization learned something about signing oft-injured veterans...
  5. We all knew it was the worst part of his game. Only gets better with reps... we shall see what happens when the bullets start flying.
  6. They legit got like nothing out of that RG3 trade. Boggles the mind.
  7. And its making their product worse and worse. They have 11 channels that i never watch - im switching to fios and i don't have it anymore. Kind of a relief. Unfortunately my fantasy baseball is through ESPN so i have to go there a few times a day.
  8. I don't think that was the plan. I think the plan was to extend him for less than he got.
  9. So you're saying keep him for 2.7 million, then let him leave in 2018?
  10. Here's a few reasons why we did what we did IMO 1 - If you are trying to extend him- Start negotiating at 2.7 mil per year instead of 1.5 per year. You basically have a 0% chance of extending him - so it is a 1 year deal and he walks next year and factors into your comp picks for 2019. 2 - 2.7 million is the 2nd round tender - that makes him the 13th highest paid player on the team by cap space. For a backup running back. 3 - Adrian petersons cap hit this year is 2.25 million... just saying... 4 - A 5th round pick in 2017 isn't bad compensation for a UDFA back we picked up off the scrap heap 2 years ago. If he walked after next season we probably don't even get a 5th comp pick in 2019.
  11. I think the guy gets a bad wrap as a big guy. Blount is a big rumbler and he's been a very effective player over the last couple of seasons. Tolbert also has catching ability. If he was our feature back i'd be worried, but as a backup RB/FB I think he's probably fine. Tolbert has 2400 yards, 45 total TDs, and another 1700 yards receiving.
  12. Alternative facts... fake news.
  13. If you have to franchise/plan to extend watkins - carrying over a little cap space is pretty important.
  14. Per football outsiders he was one of the worst running backs in football. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/rb They had a pretty bad O-line FWIW, but in his game against buffalo's terrible run defense he looked pretty terrible.
  15. They valued him at 1.7 not 2.7 million. They didn't want to pay him 2.7 million to be a backup RB. It would have been the 13th highest cap hit on the team. For a backup... at a position where the best players don't get paid a premium. In addition, it sets a higher negoitating floor if you are intending to negotiate an extension.
  16. Would've liked him for Madden. I like never throw to my left receiver, except drag routes. And on drags i prefer pure speed/acceleration. We'll see what Zay's numbers look like then!
  17. After doing wonderful trades to get rid of bad chip kelly contracts, i wouldn't imagine Roseman would be in the market of paying for a 3rd free agent WR in 2017. You have to think one of Matthews, Agholar, or Dorial Green-beckham can be a serviceable number 2 receiver to go with Jeffrey and Torrey smith.
  18. Yeah i guess so - i just look at it like Ivory is the one who's always hurt. Yeldon is so not TD Mike BTW. 5 TDS on like 400 touches and very few big plays.
  19. I think it all comes down to fit and style. Denim will look terrible if you're wearing old style painters jeans that are oversized. But a good fitting pair of jeans with a good wash looks good with pretty much anything from a T-shirt to a button-down shirt.
  20. I don't really understand the speculation. He has to basically lose his job to a UDFA.
  21. Very negligible cap savings, and he's been sure-handed in the passing game. I think he sticks with Jax at least 1 more year. Scratch that - basically no cap savings. U save 400K but then one of your 400Kish RBs whos currently not in the top 53, will be in the top 53. Negates any savings.
  22. Also 5th and 7th in rushing. 3rd and 12th in attempts....
  23. Here's some tape for everyone... I wonder what people would think if Tyrod threw 4 picks on the final 5 possessions of the 4th quarter. One on the 2 yardline on 2nd and goal. And this pick six that legit cost them the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IzpSBGvaWU
  24. I kind of agree with the "he's done" people... but also i feel like it'd be a reverse-jinx on how things ended between him and the front office.
  25. Agreed - but it costs more to get rid of Agholor than it does to keep him. 0 Dead cap to cut DGB - so hes in the tougher spot.
