  1. But if it's failure for non-testing then it doesn't really matter. He's suspended from track where he doesn't compete. The NFL can drug test him, and he can still pass.
  2. I'm not married to peterman in any way whatsoever. Draft another one. Don't want to blow our shot because we were set on trent edwards, JP losman, or EJ manuel. The out is decent, I just don't want to use the 10 mil savings to bring in a Tannehill or McCown type. Seems like we're just getting worse.
  3. I believe he just kind of retired from track. And in track you have to be available for testing at any given moment, and he was not available. A missed non-NFL test shouldn't really be a guilty verdict when you're subjected to the random NFL testing.
  4. Many are - some are just football players though. For every ODB or Marshall, theres AJ green, Jordy Nelson, and Mike Evans.
  5. They traded a 4th rounder for him. They traded a 2nd and 7th for Welker. It was more of a flier as he was poison to the league at that point. They were 8-8 when he lead the NFL in catches and yards. Being a great PLAYER does not always translate to wins on the field. You have to have a great team.
  6. He was a huge key - But they also had the number 1 defense in scoring, and yardage (and probably any other metric you can find). It's a team game. Still not a great example to use a first team all-pro player. But i think the idea is that you can lose a lynch or watkins or whatever... and still be a good team because of the players and environment around them. The broncos, seahawks, steelers, and packers are a good example of this - Yes the QB is a huge part of this, but only if he's the right QB for the team/system.
  7. Holmes sticks until we can either bring someone along through PS, or if someone becomes available after roster cut downs. I think the comp-pick is too good to pass up. Powell also doesn't factor until his suspension is up - so he could also move up if we still want to move on from Holmes.
  8. There could be tons of reasons to move him... injury risk, expiring contract and reluctance to use franchise tag, wants too much money, doesn't want to play here, selfish and doesn't care about winning, diva attitude, not a hard worker, clashes with fans, clashes with media, drama etc... I've never met the guy sooooo it's hard to say what impression he left on beanie and McDermott.
  9. The timing of the trades - right after the cut-off to cancel season tickets - seems to have brandon's fingerprints on it.
  10. Gillislee is listed as 3rd string on the depth chart they sent out.
  11. You can't keep everyone though... and we have no idea how his injury actually looks, or how contract negotiations would have gone. He may have been a camp hold out, or broken his foot again, or any number of other issues.
  12. It can't be considered a good thing that players are arguing. But at the same time it isn't necessarily doom and gloom either. It's 1 morning training camp practice.
  13. If he hates it so much he can retire and give us our money back Yup - i get that theres a ton of wear and tear on the body but... he is a multi-millionaire. He is set for life. How can i feel bad?
  14. yeah - but he's a lot cheaper for the next 3 years.
  15. He's also a known hot-head. Teams go after him because he'll get involved and give you free yards.
  16. There's not much left to trade honestly. You want to keep some of the solid vet's around to show the guys how to do it right. Dareus and Glenn contracts make them untradeable. We have like no running backs so i wouldn't trade shady. I like it. At least they got called out for a lazy going through the motions practice. Last year that seemed like the norm.
  17. For wide receivers, there are a ton of other factors. Sammy was super strong at the LOS so he was hard to jam, and he had the speed to blow off the top if you chose to play press. He also has really good feet for route running, and comes out of his breaks with speed. His hands/eyes were also incredible as he was able to make plays on not great throws. Zay seems to have really good hands, and you don't catch 150+ passes without having some semblance of route running ability. How he handles press man coverage will be a big learning curve in the NFL. He wasn't a very good route runner, and doesn't come out his breaks with enough speed. That's why he wasn't used a ton over the middle. His hands aren't great, and he honestly wasn't even that good of a deep threat. He had trouble finding the ball in those over the shoulder catches that should be his bread and butter.
  18. The team was 0-7 in games Goff started, he completed less than 55% of his passes, for about 155 yards per game. 5.3 YPA. Only cracked 200 yards twice- both times in games they lost by more than 3 TDs. 5 tds to 7 INTs. Only threw a TD in 3 of 7 starts. More sacks allowed than Keenum. Threw for 90 yards in a loss to San Francisco where he completed fewer than 50% of his passes. He has to be much better, or they're going to cut their losses.
  19. He did look significantly worse than case keenum once he was given the reigns FWIW... With the same coaching and midget
  20. I think hes come off a bit selfish over the years. You don't hear jordy Nelson, Antonio brown, or Edelman complaining about targets, or NBA players making more money. Just doesn't seem like he's a fit for what they're trying to do, and they got a decent offer before it was too late. I don't know if that's it, or what it is, but I feel like there were a bunch of factors
  21. By restructuring Glenn and dareus ur giving them more money up front. for the guy who's ankle is always hurt, and the guy who keeps screwing up
  22. In 2019 not 2018 for the comp pick
  23. Hey its a new coach - give him a chance... they've been a fisher team for so long we just expect them to be terrible. Personally Goff reminds me of Gabbert, which will not bode well for them though... Prove me wrong!
