  1. At the time we had Zay, Matthews, and Boldin with a healthy streater who was actually looking like a solid roster contributor. It wasn't a great situation, but they wanted the 2018 2nd round pick more than the POSSIBLE 3rd round comp pick in 2019 - a full year later and probably 30 picks later. That's a significant difference. We also got gaines in the trade, who's actually been pretty productive so far.
  2. We have 8 million - and it carries over into 2018 as it stands now. The WRs available in free agency are not NFL caliber at this point. Trading picks is counter-productive to what we are trying to do. Wouldn't you rather have 8 million in 2018 cap space for free agents who are actually coveted players? We also have a bunch of injuries so a lack of roster flexibility without releasing someone, or IRing someone.
  3. You're right - we have a DT and OT who don't play gobbling it up. You have to care about cap hits when your predecessor fouled it up so badly. We added Percy harvin when our WR corps was hurt last year - that worked out really well. We gave him a million.
  4. I wouldn't do any of those things. I don't want to move a pick for a WR who has a large cap hit moving forward (benjamin) , and i don't want to sign players who didn't participate in a training camp (jackson/barnidge). Do any of these guys have familiarity in Dennison's system?
  5. I think the goal is to build something more sustainable. We have 20% of our cap tied up in a lazy DT and an OT who's developing an injury problem
  6. Can you do that if you're trading them though?
  7. Very difficult to bring in salary while absorbing dead money.
  8. I believe if we trade him they pay the base salary - we pay the amortized bonuses up front as a cap charge for 2017..? I guess i could be wrong? For dareus that would be 20.6 million in bonuses plus whatever salary we already paid? (roster bonuses and base salary for this aren't added - http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/marcell-dareus-7718/)- His cap hit currently stands at 16.4 million. For Glenn that would be 14.8 million in bonuses plus whatever salary is already paid for 2017. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cordy-glenn-9851/- his cap hit stands at 14.2 milion. I would consider it unlikely - but certainly possible.
  9. Dimarco is dead weight IMO... His spot is taken by tolbert and we'd activate banyard. Not sure we can really get rid of holmes quite yet - but i assume they're getting dupre/reilly ready. Davis has been passed by Yarbrough - and we have 2 end's on the PS. Ducasse is just a body - 3 OL on the PS. We signed 7 and 5 were signed from us? So that would net us likely a 3 and a 4?
  10. It's not like they said - cover green all game with no help. He screwed up on that play and lost him.
  11. I think they meant like... instead of having wright/mabin doing it
  12. One got called back on holding. Seemed like a designed QB draw anyway
  13. i don't really understand how this relates to what I said
  14. I thought Thomas should've broken off his route a bit there to go towards the end zone... which kind of drove the hesitation. JMO on that one. Other than that, I think it's Tyrods job because the team seems to believe in him. If he get's hurt and NP rallies them then great - but i don't think benching the starting QB when everyone around him is also not playing particularly well sets a good precedent. If we're out of it, or this is the start of an extended slide, then obviously things can change.
  15. sure - who do you want to bring in? Cutler's certainly asserting himself over in Miami... Guy should be the starter til we're out of it.
  16. I don't go to the kid til we're out of it. Team still believes in Tyrod, and as long as you're in it he's probably the guy.
  17. we weren't getting a ton of pressure, if you bring extra rushers then you're less likely to have help
  18. Bad penalties by our line, bad sacks by everyone, bad receivers... just a bad offense. Doesn’t get better with a rookie qb He was A problem...
  19. 3rd and 15 after shady tried to bounce another outside and got smashed
  20. How many negative runs did shady have today..? Absolute drive killers.
  21. I mean - watching the game those numbers seem ridiculously high. They couldn't move the ball until the 4th quarter. Seemed like they were punting constantly, and couldn't convert 3rd downs all game. I still think they lose that game if he makes all 3 FGs btw.... no way the play calling stays as vanilla in Tampa territory if they aren't leading.
