Brian Daboll hired as new OC
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Roman was not without his issues. Even in San Francisco he wore out his welcome. The passing attack is just too basic - it results in a lot of sacks and is designed for scramblers. A lot of verticals, hitches, out routes. Safe stuff that doesn't result in picks. If the reads aren't there you are supposed to just take off running and avoid turnovers. My big problem with him was the lack of a 2 minute offense. That and it taking like 30 seconds to get a play call in so there was never any pre-snap motion, hard counts, and we'd get penalties. -
Daboll's preferred offense and QB.

I think it's really just in conceptualizing the offense, and naming plays. You said it better. I think it lends to a better no huddle attack once everyone is on the same page - but that might just be brady being good. -

Yeah - been like a long time since he was a coordinator in the NFL and he spent a lot of time with McDaniels before going to bama. Clearly with Hurts you're going to run a lot. -

I know if my QB sucks I'm going to take the ball from his hands as much as possible... -
Saints loss and fundamental football
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whats the excuse for not using his arms/hands...? Even holding a foot there will prevent him from getting out of bounds. I could see jumping up for a deflection and missing or something trying to play the ball there. But you let him catch it - all you had to do was tackle him! -
Bills Offensive Line
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He does take really good care of his body - if he wants to keep playing and continues playing at a high level I say let him. I'd actually consider extending him to lower the cap hit this year if he plans on playing in 2019. -
Fast-Forward to 2018, Case Keenum
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to CountryCletus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally, i liked Keenum in 2016. I felt like he was shredding us until he threw that pick-6 to NRC. Then the wheels came off - but still wouldve liked to have brought him in over Yates. -
The moral of the Vikings win.

Just don't understand it at all... he's deep covering no one, and comes flying in and doesn't play the ball at all... just grab his legs and its game -
Writing is likely on the wall for Tyrod. Only way he sticks is if he took a massive paycut to the colt mccoy/nick foles pay level.

There's other CB's available, they might be able to get someone else. Tagging Sammy is a strange choice with Donald's holdout looming. Doesn't exactly set a precedent that you value your best player. He'll likely play because the teams better when he's underpaid. But 2019 is coming and he will likely not suit up under a franchise tag.

Bills' Free Agent Stay or Go List.
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He plays special teams. Same with Humber. Can't get rid of all your core special teamers. -
The rams lost a 2nd round pick in the deal, and will either need another receiver via trade or draft. The first pick will likely have to be a corner if they can't reach a deal with trumaine johnson, and they need to save a chunk of cap for aaron donald. Donald's under contract but he most likely won't play unless he gets an extension.

Bill's Cap Casualties Discussion
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right - but I prefer having to beat someone out for a job. If the new guy is better than him and wants his job, prove it on the field. There's no bonus, or guarantee tied to the contract - so we can cut him any time before the season starts. I'd bring him to camp. Especially if KW retires. -
I dunno - there should be some accountability imo. We are worse at everything than we were previously. That sends a message that you can't adjust, that you aren't a strong game planner and play caller. Also - we were SO bad in the 2nd half of games - whether winning or losing. It's not all the QB, when we can't get a first down late in a game running the ball. I watched Tenn ice a game in the playoffs running the ball at the end. Why were we always punting in those situations...? Because the guy couldn't get anything out of our talent running the ball. If he was younger, and trying to develop himself maybe. This guy is who is he is, and it isn't good. Why do we want to give him more time?
