NFL.com: Gregg Rosenthal's QB Index
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He also played hurt... What about Miami last year? I know we inevitably lost... but 330 yards passing 60 more on the ground with 3 TDs. Down 28-14 at one point in the 3rd quarter, and down 28-24 with 4 minutes left in the game and the ball on the 11. Drove down and scored a TD. Then in OT drove down for a FG, which carpenter missed (dubious playcall with that terrible reggie bush play). Then MORE dubious playcalling when we punted on 4th and 2 from the dolphins 40 with like 4 minutes left in overtime. We had 600 yards of offense and you can't trust them to get 2? I'm not going to dig into our playoff odds there at that moment, but it was pretty much punting away the season. Either way - that looks a lot like a 4th quarter comeback. -
Why are MNF ratings low this season?

Cord cutting. I don't have ESPN in my Fios package. I don't know that I would watch it anyway after a day of football though. -
Watkins has been doing nothing, and gilmore didn't play this week. Gilmore will be in NE next year - Watkins likely will not be in LA. They have a franchise tag, but at this point i don't think they'd use it. He's on pace for 40 catches for less than 600 yards and 5 TDs. He'll make more money on the open market so I don't think he'd sign a mid-season extension. Jeffery and Pryor are the only other big names hitting free agency, so he's likely to get overpaid. I'm sure there will be some cuts/surprises, but everyone wants WRs and he's in that upper tier with regards to free agents. For LA Donald will hold out again if they don't give him dareus money, and their best DB is a free agent. With woods, Kupp, austin, cooper already under contract - it might not make the most use of their abundance of cap space to tag a WR.

Week 7...Expecations should return to pre-season
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Jobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What are my expectations supposed to be? We're a team built to play tight games, with a QB who struggles when we're losing. We have like no receivers, and are getting bit by the injury bug. 8-8 +/- 2 in either direction. Balls bounce our way we can maybe do 10-6. If they start to bounce the other way, we're probably 6-10. -
Pierre Garcon wouldn't be traded because he's in year 1 of a 5 year deal. The dead cap would be like 15 million, so we'd have to overpay. Why is SD trading Keenan Allen? They're 2-4 and are a couple missed FGs from 4-2. The AFC is full of teams that have 2-4 wins, so why are they out of it? 9-7 probably gets in - that would be 6-3 the rest of the way.

So a 2019 3rd round comp pick... pick 100 of the draft basically... Or pick a 2018 2nd round pick... a full year earlier and likely pick say 50.... Thats a fair amount of value. Plus we got a corner and dont have to worry about comp picks and a net loss etc in free agency.

2017 Football Outsiders DVOA Rankings
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They weight the plays in DVOA - so a 9 yard run on 4th and 10 isn't a positive play and a 2 yard run on 3rd and 1 is a positive play. Factors in the opponent as well. -
McDermott's Influence on Offense
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to ROONDOGG55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure Mcdermott is heavily involved in offensive game planning. I just don't think he has anything to do with the playcalling during the actual game. -
Ex-Bills WR's vs. All Current Bills Receivers

We have the same record, or better, than all of the teams with those receivers. -

Jalen ramsay will be shadowing him this week too... -

He won't go to the packers though... their entire team is basically homegrown. They showed some inclination to improving their trenches with vet's, but its usually lowball offers for guys who've been around the block a while. -

They traded a 2nd round pick and a player for 1 year of him... they can't possibly franchise him can they? -
At the time we had Zay, Matthews, and Boldin with a healthy streater who was actually looking like a solid roster contributor. It wasn't a great situation, but they wanted the 2018 2nd round pick more than the POSSIBLE 3rd round comp pick in 2019 - a full year later and probably 30 picks later. That's a significant difference. We also got gaines in the trade, who's actually been pretty productive so far.

We have 8 million - and it carries over into 2018 as it stands now. The WRs available in free agency are not NFL caliber at this point. Trading picks is counter-productive to what we are trying to do. Wouldn't you rather have 8 million in 2018 cap space for free agents who are actually coveted players? We also have a bunch of injuries so a lack of roster flexibility without releasing someone, or IRing someone.
