  1. He's in a good situation though where he won't be rushed onto the field. The only concern is that Reid runs a west coast offense, so timing and precision are largely more important than chucking it down the field. Bad footwork tends to sail throws causing turnovers and preventing YAC.
  2. Can always cut him and bring him back after week 1 too. I seriously doubt people will be lining up for him anyway. Same with Ryan Davis.
  3. 3 years 18 million with no dead cap if he's traded. We on the other hand would have a higher cap hit at around 7.8 million for 2017. Doesn't make sense unless there's a really high pick involved.
  4. I'm sure he has his reasons. Pretty good chunk of change he's walking away from. They clearly felt better about trading Sammy once they brought him in. Now it gets interesting!
  5. If we can't keep preston it makes sense to have a guy with a year in the system. he's affordable and already under contract.
  6. It's guaranteed for injury only. It wouldn't need to be that much. I'm taking on cap space/cash for a pick. All we pay is his base salary of like 3 million, and keep him on the 53 and never activate him.
  7. It's injury-only though. Hence he wears sweatpants the whole year.
  8. I'd do the 2nd in a heartbeat. 3.2 million and he never sees the field even in practice. Opt out of the 5th year.
  9. Agreed - you can't UN-pick up his 5th year option. He's at that RG3 unplayable level now.
  10. Good post. Agree with pretty much everything. Gotta get the plays in quicker so TT can use motion to help recognize coverage, make protection adjustments, etc. He just can't be late on the delivery. Bad decisions in pre-season aren't the end of the world, but you'd like to see him moving the sticks some. He got rattled and it showed. From a penalty perspective, there will always be more in preseason. Roster bubble guys will make mistakes trying to make plays and stuff. But I hate holding on offense, and I hate illegal shift/motion penalties. These shouldn't happen. We're seeing holding on returns before the guy even catches the ball!
  11. You don't have to cut them right away. In order to qualify for the comp equation, a player must have been a true Unrestricted Free Agent whose contract had expired or was voided after the previous season (i.e., he cannot have been released by his old team); he must sign during the UFA signing period (which ended July 27 last year); if he signs after June 1[*], he must have been tendered a June 1 qualifying offer by his old team; his compensatory value or contract value must be above a specific minimum amount; and he cannot have been permanently released by his new team before a certain point in the season (which seems to be after Week 10) or, possibly, before getting a certain amount of playing time, unless he was claimed off waivers by another team.
  12. I mean... there's a lot of stuff you haven't seen. Practice, film study, weight room, just general team leadership and locker room. It's preseason... Agreed - at that point Tyrod will have lost the team. Then you got 53 guys playing for their jobs.
  13. Has really good hands. That's value. He's quick off the line and has seen enough NFL defenses to understand coverages and quickly locate a soft spot.
  14. If we start off like 0-4, 0-6 or something, go for it. Or even if its a 2-3 situation and Tyrod's playing like crap. You can have the hook ready, but you have to be able to truly justify it.
  15. so you're saying bench the starter because of his performance in a preseason game...? He looked fine in week 1.
  16. I don't think it matters if you produce in week 2 of the preseason. At least it shouldn't matter.
  17. Doesn't matter anyway - the sky isn't falling because it never should have been very high. Can we still make the playoffs? Sure why not. But it all comes down to tyrod being a guy who can win close games. Yesterday points in the direction of no, but it's also preseason week 2. Who cares?
  18. Play fantasy! The bills have sucked for years and we all still watch. You learn a lot more about the players in the rest of the league, and random games between the bucs and eagles have some stakes to make it interesting.
  19. I think we saw what 30-40 reps of Tyrod looked like. I don't personally think they went into that game with a real game plan other than that they wanted tyrod to throw rhythm passes. He failed, absolutely miserably. We know we can run, and run block - so why spend a ton of time on it in preseason? We know the Schwartz D is coming at you, we need to mix up snap counts, hard counts etc. We were getting to the line fairly quickly, so we should have the opportunity for more motion and stuff. We'll see what the offense looks like going forward... need to figure out the o-line and he needs to be a ton better at getting the ball out on time. The receivers also need to get to their spots on time. Seems like a mess who can run.
  20. They run that schwartz wide 9. We essentially played right into it, which makes no sense from a gameplanning perspective. I think we wanted to see him stand and deliver. He delivered a s--t sandwich
  21. If it's what you are worst at - you should be doing it in preseason. I don't think we're running it the way we plan to, and thats fine. How are they half assing it? They moved their #1 cb and Wr for picks, and replacements. Our QB doesn't have a ton of value, Kyle williams is a career bill, wood looked like crap yesterday, and shady is overpaid. Nobody is looking to add a running back for 6 million dollars.
