It's really a function of the roman offense. He doesn't run much stuff over the middle because he hates turnovers. A lot of out routes, and hitches. They don't require throwing open, and you can't get any YAC.

It's a bit of everything. Oline is struggling with stunts, as well as blocking for the zone runs. The backs are struggling to find the holes and make the right cuts - Shady isn't a great fit for this it seems like. We had a lot of success in shotgun last season as it deepens the pocket, and allows us to run more read option concepts. We're now majority under center unless its an obvious passing play it seems. I think some quick hitters from peterson will do the offense good. Shorter 3rd downs can create easier mis matches, and force the linebackers to shorten their depth. This can create some big plays which have been lacking. Last week on 3rd and 14 there wasn't a non-rushing saint within 10 yards of the LOS. So you have 7 guys back there covering the sticks making checkdowns the only options.

All i said was food for thought I'm for winning... I personally thought TT gave them the best chance, but im not in the film room or at practice or in the locker room. If they think NP gives them the best chance, then go for it.

I don't think there will all of a sudden be RPO concepts, or option routes. Those arent WCO staples. They don't need to - they usually have good quarterbacks.

That wasn't a checkdown - it was the play call. It was dumb because we didn't have enough time at the line, and they shifted coverage at the last second. Nope - offense is suited to like... 3 people on the team. Shady, Tyrod, and the Oline aren't part of it.

I think checking down on 3rd and 13 and 3rd and 20 is fine. You shouldn't be in 3rd and 13 all friggin game. Starts on first and 2nd. Watch the play... it was a crappy play. 3 guys ran routes short of the sticks, 2 guys ran past. they were in a tampa 2 with a deep lying MLB. The only truly open guy is tolbert. The other plays aren't there to be made. Call a better play!

You can't make someone sign here - and i wouldn't have given woods or goodwin those contracts based on their production here. Gilmore didn't want to play here so it was tag or he walks. Gillislee would've been the highest paid backup RB in the league, on a team with the highest paid starting RB in the league.

Decent chance we draft another one this year giving us 1 in each of the last 3 years.

Well we at least got rid of most of the non-fits in year 1 instead of slowly phasing them out. Yeah - its working out so well for cleveland... Yup - just gotta hope we got the right guys in the building to do it right this time.
