  1. You don't throw that last pass with pressure
  2. Kinda prefer a checkdown to tolbert
  3. That was a good play... nothing u can do there when they leap over you that ridiculously high
  4. so... I would worry more about blitzes on 3rd and long
  5. Fair i suppose, but if i put a run-pass option package play in for the red zone - i'd feel a lot more comfortable running that with Tyrod. Seeing as he's taken i dunno 800 snaps the last 3 seasons and webb has not. I would also be totally ok with doing that - its a lot of moving parts but if its only one play it shouldn't be too hard. We suck on O right now, and need TDs not FGs.
  6. We've already installed plays/packages that don't really mesh with what we do normally (read-option looks, option pitches etc.). It's very simple to sub him in and run something like that in the RZ or something, and if you don't game plan for it they will make you look silly.
  7. Their offense is worse than ours.
  8. So are we. Miami and buffalo both play NE twice as well.
  9. Can't remember exactly, but TT may have had a shoulder injury at the combine. I think he threw anyway since he was a longshot guy. Either way - arm strength is not an issue of his. He can make all the throws, its more an unwillingness to throw many of them.
  10. I think Baltimore has the friendliest schedule. 2 tougher AFC games in Pitt and Cin would put them at 7 losses, a loss to detroit puts them at 8. A setback to GB puts them firmly on the ropes the rest of the way. Their offense might actually be worse than buffalo's.
  11. Obviously we want to win - and this is a pretty big one as its an AFC game against a mediocre team. I know we're not exactly lighting it up right now, but neither are the other 3 teams really in contention (Baltimore, Miami, and Oakland). There's a fair amount of 3-6 teams who would need to go 5-2/6-1 the rest of the way and I don't see any of them really doing it. HOU is too injured, CIN's o-line is really bad, LA is seemingly more unlucky than buffalo, and the broncos have no QB. The jets are i guess the best of the bunch, and they just hung 10 on the bucs. The 3 4-5 teams have interesting matchups this week - Baltimore v Green bay - Away game at lambeau, and GB has been playing better. Would be great for them to win here. Bucs v Miami - Bye week game gets taken away - Bucs coming off a win where they looked better on D, and Miami coming off a game where they got destroyed. Hopefully they continue trending these directions. New England v Oakland - We pretty much know what this means... In a 2-way tie with Oakland at the end of season we'd actually get in on the H2H tiebreaker too. We've been playing like crap, but with a win and a small amount of help - we're 2 full games up.
  12. 10 million in cap savings to release him. Good as gone. Fun to note - dareus will have the 2nd highest cap hit for next year, and Tyrod will be like 5th highest.
  13. I did like watching that kid from Miami taking the direct-snaps. Kept the defense on their heels. Tyrod would have to be able to play running back or WR though... needs to be on the field to catch them off guard.
  14. Having played some football - there is to an extent. But it goes both ways. If the defense legit just lets them keep walking down the field its very disheartening when you play offense. There's no margin for error. So you end up playing stiff.
  15. If they can't figure out simple motion... it won't matter.
  16. Here's a hot take... I disagree with the decision, however I totally want Peterman to be awesome!
  17. It's really a function of the roman offense. He doesn't run much stuff over the middle because he hates turnovers. A lot of out routes, and hitches. They don't require throwing open, and you can't get any YAC.
  18. It's a bit of everything. Oline is struggling with stunts, as well as blocking for the zone runs. The backs are struggling to find the holes and make the right cuts - Shady isn't a great fit for this it seems like. We had a lot of success in shotgun last season as it deepens the pocket, and allows us to run more read option concepts. We're now majority under center unless its an obvious passing play it seems. I think some quick hitters from peterson will do the offense good. Shorter 3rd downs can create easier mis matches, and force the linebackers to shorten their depth. This can create some big plays which have been lacking. Last week on 3rd and 14 there wasn't a non-rushing saint within 10 yards of the LOS. So you have 7 guys back there covering the sticks making checkdowns the only options.
  19. Gotta get rid of mills. He's just awful
  20. Whaley was the gm when woods NRC and bradham were let go.
