  1. Looks like a mess from what I've seen so far... get him deeper in the pocket or get him scrambling
  2. A lot of these guys are coming from spread and air-raid type systems. Allen had a Comp% under 60 in the... whatever conference Wyoming plays in. Let them get their feet wet in practice and pre-season and take your time getting them up to speed.
  3. I like to make the guy earn it a bit. Even if that means competing with Peterman or a journeyman. Winston had glennon, Mariota had mettenberger, Wentz had bradford/daniel, Goff had keenum, Bortles had Henne etc... It's their job to lose, but the other guy wants it just as badly so it helps push the player.
  4. Which means hitting on a few picks next year would go a long way to building a successful team. Rather than trading them all.
  5. if really bad teams finish 1-2 and both need QBs we can't get there with any amount of capital. There might be some solid QBs there later in the first though. Falk, Jackson (if he develops more this year), Rudolph would all be there - and while they all have their quirks... so do D'arnold Allen and Rosen.
  6. Have to agree with you there. Everyone claiming sammy is a top 10 receiver... Potentially sure... but tbh hes probably on the fringe of top 25...
  7. Big arm. We'll see how he does in year 2, he was only a sophomore after all.
  8. I dunno - whoever the rams, jags, chargers, and seahawks trotted out last year looked pretty freakin terrible.
  9. Its an offense that is built to build a lead, or protect a lead. Unfortunately it has shown that it isn't particularly good at chasing a lead late in a game. The lack of tempo and rhythm, as well as reliance on running, isn't suited for a 2-4 minute offense.
  10. The Jags are basically trying to get something for him before they cut him. With the out to avoid the 4 mil of guaranteed money, they'd cut him before the next league year to avoid the rest of the deal. I assume he means a paycut? But he's already fully guaranteed 7 mil of base salary this year - you can't take that away from him. So what incentive does he have to restructure/take a paycut?
  11. 6th in scoring defense, 6th in yards allowed. Oh and 1st in takeaways with 39. 6 more than any other team. Had a takeaway in every game but 1. And they gave up less than 200 TOTAL yards, 1 3rd down conversion, and had 2 takeaways - in the super bowl loss. Newton has a remotely good game and they win it easy. Roman still couldn't get a playcall in to save his life. Couldn't coach a 4 minute offense, let alone a 2 minute offense. His playbook has such a limited route tree so it's designed to take sacks and scramble.
  12. if he can be had for a late round pick - maybe a 2019 conditional - i'd say to consider it.
  13. There's not much to restructure - all he has left are base salaries. 4 million of 2018 is guaranteed if he's on the roster at the start of the league year. If he's not you suffer 0 dead cap. If it helps net me an extra 3rd so i can cut holmes - I'm in. Basically buying a pick, and he has shown he can be a player in the past... he's literally a 4th year WR.
  14. Sammy's next season contract would have been about 13 million vs. 6.9. The cap hits are roughly in line with Woods just got, and all the guarantee's have already been paid out. Plus if he sucks you just cut him before next season and it's a 1 year rental for not a lot of capital.
  15. Cap hits are 6.9, 7.9 and 9.5 over the rest of the deal if you decide to keep him. Only his 2017 salary is fully guaranteed, so its basically a 1 year 7 million deal. No bonuses in 2018-2020, and only half of 2018 is guaranteed if he's on your roster to start the league years. So it can be essentially 2 years 14 million. Hes 25, has a 1000 yard season... I'd do a deal for a very low pick considering our depth and the fact that it ensures we can cut holmes and net the 3rd round comp pick. Would basically net say a 3rd + Hurns + cash for a 4th or probably later + Holmes...
  16. I like the idea of - focusing on certain things instead of playing a full simulated game. You can have like 15-20 minutes of punting/kick coverage plays at the beginning, then have those specialists off on the sidelines working on other stuff - have the offense go x plays. Throw a pick - get the ball back and continue on offense. Some 7x7 work. 2 minute drills/4 minute drills. Put the QBs in red jerseys. You also wouldn't have to worry as much about the star players playing for like 15-20 minutes and then just hanging out at the end. They'd be involved with the first team O on each of the individual drills. I think 7 would be a good number. 7/16 make it and the best team gets Home field and a 1st round bye. Gets you an extra game of playoff revenue, and means more for the team chasing the bye week.
  17. I mean - i expect to run the ball a lot. The quick passing stuff will be a work in progress all year, so i'd like to see them use a bit of play action to help open things up some.
  18. I for one doubt we can finish last this year. Or even 2nd to last.
  19. Just worry about the fit, or a John Elway/Eli Manning type of situation. It IS buffalo after all.
  20. if 1-2 need QBs i don't want to move up. I'd rather have the 7 players from the first 3 rounds. There will be other QBs in here that have just as good a chance as them to be good. I personally don't want Darnold or Rosen - for the simple fact that I don't think they're a fit for Buffalo. Los Angeles and Buffalo couldn't be more different.
  21. I'm not giving up tons of picks just to get there though.... There will be other Qbs on the rise this year who might also be good.
  22. Where would you rank sammy as a wide receiver league wide - right now? Not based on potential.
  23. if we draft all 6 players, all 6 will have a combined salary less than watkins. They come with 4-5 years of control, and are much cheaper. You can't just keep extending everyone. New england dumped Logan Mankins, Jamie Collins, and Chandler jones for picks. You don't have to rely on a comp pick formula if you trade players before they walk.
  24. Pretty much how i feel. He has the POTENTIAL to be a top 10 receiver. He does not deserve to be given that label.
