  1. I dunno - it didn't look that difficult to me. The contact isn't important, because you'll see the ball already well behind him when he gets hit.
  2. I don't mind the 3rd down.. don't like the look of their defense vs. our play timeout. I just hate the one where we can't get lined up in the first quarter and call timeout as we're approaching the LOS.
  3. Basically the best place to tailgate, because you aren't subject to the bills lot rules - but there isn't a ton of the riff-raff because they'll throw you out if youre smashing tables and being a clown.
  4. Gotta tackle well, and keep them in long 3rd down situations. Front 4 has to play well and bottle up running lanes, and make Newton get rid of the ball. If our defense is legit, we're going to be in a lot more games than people think.
  5. Everyone calls the same plays, and disguises them the same ways. You'll change terminology, but in the end there isn't a right call for everything. I expect them to come out and try and run the ball, and get mccaffrey in space. They'll use WRs to open up space underneath for Olsen and McCaffrey to operate. Going to have to tackle very well to win. On offense - its going to be a battle in the trenches. We're going to run the ball, and they're going to try and stop us. Expect it to be physical, and for Tyrod to be moving outside the pocket to create space with their LBs. Their LBs will be able to hang in coverage with shady and Clay, unless Tyrod makes 50/50's them and makes them decide. There will be space underneath the corners for our receivers to operate, and we need to get balls to the boundaries on time.
  6. 19 combined tackles... in 15 games. Do i need to pull a full amount of snaps to say that he was loafing and being a baby? You're paid to play football, not complain to the media. The media guys are paid to talk about that crap. And he decided to basically not play. Also - he continued to suck in his time in Miami. guys done.
  7. I dunno why they aren't... they were 6-10 a year ago, and we were 7-9. We lost some players from that 7-9 team sure - but i don't know why everyone thinks there's 0 chance we win. Any given sunday.
  8. yes. "Excellent Punt" - "Nice try - its hard to cover players in the NFL"
  9. I don't get why everyone argues about everything so much. If someone's opinion is different and you can't have a civil discussion - just ignore them. You're not going to convince him to like Tyrod, and he's not going to convince you otherwise. If it comes to name calling... you should just let it end.
  10. How does an elite QB have 6 games with a sub 50 comp %... in only 14 starts. Only 4 with a higher than 60 comp %. Those are last years numbers... He's a guy who wants the ball in his hands with the game on the line, and he's got all the physical attributes you look for, but of his 3 playoff seasons... their Defense was top 5 in 2 of them, and the other year they finished 7-8-1 in the worst division in football. He's had 1 excellent season, and other than that he's been pretty good.
  11. No argument can be made that he didn't play well on Sunday. I don't think he did anything that shows me the light is like... clicked either. But he looked pretty good. Did his slippery thing and made a bunch of plays, took care of the ball pretty well, kept the chains moving until Rico decided we didn't want first downs. We're still going to draft someone next year, so i don't know why all these people are arguing. Tyrod may stick and start next year too, who knows. But i still think we set ourselves up to be able to get one of the top few QBs next year. Mcdermott stresses competition, and leadership. TT isn't afraid of a little competition, and he's a team captain so for those that hate him... don't be surprised if he's still here next year. I don't think he's a franchise QB, and i would draft a replacement. But i'm not benching him for the purposes of having a worse player "learn" on the fly to... see what we have in him. The panthers went 12-4 in 2013 with Newton at the helm - He went for 3300 24 and 13, and another 580 and 6 on the ground (this is Cam's 2nd best season BTW.. and its a fairly small step up from what Tyrod put together over the last 2 seasons). They had a great defense that year. If you think you have a great defense, then you roll with Tyrod and see what happens.
  12. Cam had an amazing season in 2015. In comparison to 2016, and all 4 years prior... he punched above his weight. He had 300+ or 3 TDs 4 times last year against: SF, NO, KC, WASH. SF was a blow out against a bottom 3 team. NO they lost a shootout. KC he threw a pick six in a 3 point loss. On the opposite side - he had 5 games with a sub 50 Comp%, and threw 14 picks, and had more sack yardage lost.
  13. I think this defense is going to continue to swarm to the ball and bottle up a guy like mccaffrey. He's very shifty so the goal is to avoid those types of 1x1s associated with man coverage. Cam did have an MVP caliber year in 2015 and they went 15-1. Other than that... he's been... a lot like tyrod.
  14. Threw a great pass on both matthews completions. The first was a super tight window and a perfect throw for a first. The other was thrown perfect so he could get it in stride and get some YAC. He also looked good and comfortable on the playfakes - which will be much more important as the season progresses. Made solid decisions to throw some away rather than try and force anything. Kept a few drives alive and helped burn clock with his legs. All in all a pretty good game. Nothing special, but it was a win - and he contributed a lot to the win.
  15. If we run the ball well, i think we can take this one. I think they key is bottling up cam and not letting him extend plays and steal 1st downs.
  16. Pittsburgh beat the browns by 3.... Home or away - they're supposed to be SB contenders, and they were playing a team expected to pick in the bottom 3. A wins a win.
  17. We didn't see him in practice. May have had serious issues with pass protection or ball security. Could be anything.
  18. He dropped it before he was touched, and that ball was right there above his left shoulder. There's a defender coming in from the right side so he actually threw that into the right window.
  19. Total QBR or not, he only got sacked once or twice- threw the ball away a few times on the run, had a couple batted down early, and had some drops. Other than that... he had a great pair of throws to matthews, the play to oleary was nice, and added some first downs with his legs. While i agree the jets will be bad, they didn't look inherently bad at any one facet of the game. Just young all over, and don't have a particularly threatening passing attack.
  20. We played disciplined, and either the middle of the field or the flats were open. We knew they wouldn't go deep so we basically just kept everything in front and tried to time pass breakups, and tackle well. We didn't blitz much because we knew the ball would be coming out.
  21. That should be a catch... this is the NFL. He barely had to reach for it and he dropped it before he got hit.
