  1. 10 mil in cap savings... old roster filled with holes... uhmmmmm yes please! UFAs - Kwilliams, matthews, wright, humber, preston brown, ej gaines, leonard johnson. The biggest holes there are at WR and DT. but 10 mil is enough to re-sign most of those guys and hopefully build some additional depth. We drafted vallejo and milano too so they could deem humber expendable. Never know.
  2. Yes - but there are ways to disrupt timing and disguise coverage. You can't just be like - were a WCO, thats what we do.. and expect to succeed. There needs to be flexibility.
  3. It seems pretty lousy so far. His history doesn't seem to scream success. Gotta be willing to change and evolve with the players you got.
  4. You can game plan a bit differently than you did when you scored 3 points... i think you have to come in expecting to see a ton of press man and stacked boxes. What are you going to do to attack it?
  5. We can't run this outside zone scheme if they stack the box. They just did the exact same thing to dallas o-line... and their o-line is better than ours.
  6. If we don't come up with an actual game plan we will lose again.
  7. If we can't run the ball we're going to be pretty poopy. On some of the plays it looked like our guys were like.. on top of each other in their routes. I'd like to see some mesh/pick type stuff. Use Clay to create space for McCoy. I like the angle routes if we have a LB in man with a back - usually a check down that picks up a few extra yards. And if they're pressing then we need to find a way to get our guys off the line and to their spots on time.
  8. Yeah - i didn't see a ton with regards to cutback lanes. It seemed like there was penetration on every play. Unfortunately we have to beat them with the pass, and if they're playing press man then its going to involve some new stuff we haven't seen yet. Bunch formations, motion etc.
  9. They're swarming the ball, and our QB is fast... it worked the few times we did try it. I get what you mean saying you can't run why would it work, but we were getting blown up by their speed. I also think zone-read and spreading them out a bit more would've helped some.. at least create some 1x1 matchups instead of a wall of people. We're likely to see a lot of this against denver - they have big physical corners who will probably play a bunch of press man against us. We have to be at least a little prepared for that.
  10. Yeah... which means you're running routes right into their zone. ugh. I think my biggest concern was the unwillingness to try anything to get the run game going. We didn't attack with PA and zone-read to use their aggressiveness against them.
  11. They basically stacked the box and played a fair amount of man on our wide receivers. Until the 2nd half we didn't run any man beating concepts, and didn't react or try to anticipate what they were doing. Really stupidly called game. Also - good analysis by people on a lot of the Tyrod plays. But I didn't see anyone post the ones where the o-line got blown up off the line on a 1st and 10 for a 9 yard sack... or the run blocking on shady's runs... There's a bit too much of an anti-TT agenda on this board. He left plays on the field. So did everyone else on offense.
  12. Perhaps the coaching staff has a plan for how they plan to bring him along
  13. sure - he could have the same crappy line and turnovers.
  14. So your answer is start peterman ---- ???? ---- super bowl?
  15. Can you say that without watching peterman in practice or film study?
  16. And petermans probably just as bad. We know we need a QB next year... So what would you say we do...?
  17. I support starting him for the forseeable future - but i don't know if i can get behind him in 2018 even as a placeholder.
  18. he's just recovering from an injury... for the past 2 games... and all of 2016...
  19. I want a QB early next year - if petermans good, wonderful - but I'm not counting on it. Taylor had 300 yards 3 tds and another bunch on the ground against miami last year. Many of these vet's actually played in that game. stop it with the logic! we need to see what we have in him because obviously he would've helped mccoy get 100 yards yesterday somehow.
  20. It's also an easy way to blame him when the O-line plays like crap, because he will hold the ball. Sometimes the play dictates that you hold it longer than a second.
  21. They were generating a bunch of problems up the middle and not letting him step into his throws. Mills also was just bad. Badly timed penalty killed another drive, and the OPI kinda killed us there at the end. We were set up with a 1st and 10 at the 22 with a minute left. instead... 1st and 20 from the 42
  22. Without his contributions in the run game we averaged below 1.0 YPC... He was definitely under duress in the game at least a few times. Mills got blown off the line on multiple occasions.
  23. Heard his name a few times on rushing stops, he put some pressure on the QB. I don't know how you can say he didn't have a good game.
  24. For those who blame Tyrod- he probably won't be here next year, and if he is he's a place holder for a rookie. But hey... we were right there in a game where our number 1 rushing attack had like 10 yards, go D! For those who blame Zay - he's a rookie and he's honestly probably pressing a bit because he has to. This is why it's rare to see rookie WRs make a huge jump unless they're supremely talented, he's struggling to get open.
