  1. Look at the bears - Robinson and gabriel are new - drafted miller. Still have White who has been injured.
  2. I mean - sammy and darby for gaines, matthews, and 2nd and 3rd round picks. That's not bad considering watkins isn't on the rams, and darby isn't an all-pro... Not yet anyway. even if he is that means he'll get paid... he's a UFA next year. Lets not say he was like solely responsible for their super bowl victory either... they gave up 500 through the air in that game. Hurt for half the year - i do remember that.
  3. Schmidt doesn't exactly have a line of suitors... why can't we just bring him back if this guy sucks?
  4. Man it would have been great if he just threw rodak through a table
  5. Same with Lorax.
  6. They added some receivers too so maybe flacco won't be as bad this year too. Collins just doesn't jump out at me.
  7. They won't have their #1 CB for the game or their 1st round pick. Their offense doesn't impress me honestly, but their defense will be a pain to run on. Since they have a stout D-line and solid LBs - I like the peterman start because i think the game plan will dictate spreading the field a bit more to try and take advantage of matchups.
  8. 4 of 5 targets for 72 yards and a PI penalty: https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-refocused-new-england-patriots-24-jacksonville-jaguars-20
  9. 5 seasons of 10 plus TDs, and 4 seasons over 1000 yards receiving. Regularly catches upwards of 60% of his targets - as a downfield threat. He's one of the best to ever play the position. Also - if you line a corner up on him... wouldn't you just run the ball?
  10. Thought hes played fine so far. Hughes isn't getting to the QB either. Need some push in the interior.
  11. Jeeze just hold him at that point. Drag him down and protect ur Q
  12. AJ mcCarrons waste is fine if peterman starts with with a 614K cap hit.
  13. But we never got the franchise QB. We traded franchise QB assets to get a WR for EJ Manuel.
  14. They need to get lined up faster is the main thing. Helps recognize coverage, and helps assign the blocking. Millers 3 penalties killed some drives too, since short dumps won't get you anywhere on 3rd and 7+
  15. This only shows the sacks though - it doesn't show all the plays where he did get the ball out and still got nailed.
  16. Lotulelei is fine after year 2. Murphy after year 1.
  17. First wood retired - and most thought hey we'll be ok. Groy did fine in that extended stretch. Then we traded Glenn - fine we got dawkins who played most of his snaps last year anyway Then Incognito lost his mind... and it was like ok i think we have a serious problem.
  18. He did a good job adding cheap talent, but his drafts were poor - and he always seemed short-sighted. You have to balance that win-now philosophy with building for the future, and thinking about future cap ramifications.
  19. I'd keep him - there's the potential to be an NFL starter. Holmes and Streater are both 30 and neither has shown much.
  20. Well we were constantly in 3rd and long because of penalties and poor execution. You can toss a 3 yard out on 3rd and long... because no one cares if you complete it.
  21. I guess? We made a troubled DT a franchise cornerstone despite numerous red flags. That's really what ended up undoing everything. Dareus had 10 sacks and was 1st team all-pro. Then he got paid and has 7.5 sacks since. He spent 2 first round picks on a non-QB who isn't even probably a top 5 receiver in the 2014 draft class (Beckham, Landry, Evans, Cooks, Adams, Benjamin). Drafted Kouandjio in the same draft - swing and a miss. Outside of Watkins, we got 1 use-able player in the entire draft in preston brown. Married himself to Manuel instead of taking another shot in 2014 with someone like Garoppolo, Carr, or Bridgewater. Used all his ammo up on the watkins trade. This also caused us to not even have a shot at a QB in 2015 - as again - we were incredibly short of picks. Then in 2016 doubled-down on Rex and Tyrod for some reason and burned a draft class on a bunch of mediocre players. Instead of looking at the 2 QBs at the top of the draft - and the 2 teams who wanted to trade down. He tried to save his job and get that playoff spot, instead of build a franchise built to sustain. EDIT - Add on the bryce brown trade, signing harvin twice, and extending Tyrod as things that damage his credibility. He didn't really sniff an NFL job after his tenure here either.
  22. I'm more concerned with the lack of murphy than anything else. I knew coming in not to expect a ton from lotulelei. I expect him to be better than what we trotted out there at the end of 2016. I'm not sure how much better though - nor do i think he will outpace or even earn the dollars we gave him.
  23. It depends on his extension - odd's are they would load him up with full guarantees to 2019/2020 base salarys, and a hefty signing bonus - to keep his base salary pretty low this year. So probably 20 mil-ish bonus - 30 mil in 2019/2020 salary, and 10 mil this year. So about 60 million fully guaranteed, and 2021 being practically guaranteed with some kind of "if hes on the roster on x date, 2021 salary becomes guaranteed - etc so that numbers closer to 75. So you end up with something like 6 years probably close to 130-140 million or so - with say 70-80 being fully guaranteed. And the contracts built to lower base salary if you need to. This estimates an overpay after donald resets the market.
