  1. No pass rush. And no takeaways. They're just not a good defense. It hurts carr because they're always playing catch up.
  2. They have 12 takeaways this year. Last year they had 30. -9 TO diff this year, vs. +16 a year ago. Not taking care of the ball, and not taking the ball away. Cooper coming down with the drops, and i think field position, and being behind has hindered their offense.
  3. Burkhead might be banged up... could we be seeing Touchdown Mike this week?
  4. Its what the fins offense is built around, lot of shifty guys there
  5. The Harris one pissd me off... he absolutely went for the knee. He even twisted it after he went down.
  6. All the action to the right with the fake screen and use taylors shiftiness to pick a running lane... good stuff
  7. Why do you write on here like you're on twitter? I don't think there's a character limitation, and it comes off as pouting.
  8. You can create a scheme for a bad/flawed QB though. We don't have a good QB on the roster - so if you're trying to win.... you would scheme around your QBs strong suits. Not mash everyone into your existing scheme. He's had upwards of 20 passes batted down at the line this year. Clearly the 3 step drop rhythm pass isn't working, maybe we try something else. They're constantly stacking the line and forcing him to get the ball out quick and he's holding it... maybe we spread them out so they can't stack the LOS... so we can run the ball more effectively. I'm not claiming hes good... I'm just saying if he's who youre going with, maybe you should try and do something different.
  9. And before that it was Kaepernick and Alex Smith.... http://blogs.mercurynews.com/kawakami/2015/09/30/the-greg-roman-re-re-evaluation-if-you-were-paying-attention-during-his-49ers-tenure-you-actually-dont-have-to-keep-changing-your-mind/ –The staggering amount of delay-of-game penalties and rushed snaps at the play-clock was not a great example of strategic and functional brilliance. Right there, that was bad on Roman and Harbaugh.
  10. I don't think Lawson is terrible, but i agree we need to get better at rushing the passer. Lawson will definitely need to improve, but the injury this year is unrelated to the year 1 injury so I hesitate to call him injury prone. I think he just got rolled up on. Having a rookie season where he missed camp did not help his development at all and hopefully there is some improvement between years 2 and 3. Improved pass rushing by the DTs will hopefuly make everyone on the line look better. Clay costs the same to keep as he does to get rid of. 9 million against the cap. Thanks Doug. Oline - i'd like to see them snatch a vet or two to help the right side.
  11. I think they both have good arms. Both throw well on the run. Both are short. They are 2 of the most elusive players I've ever seen. Wilson is more accurate. More precise. More consistent. More of a big-game player. Spreads the ball around more successfully, and seems to understand game situations much more. Exactly - hammer defenses with a big back, and H-back/FB moving around in the backfield. Zone reads, screens, powers. I just don't get why we run this WCO/outside Zone thing.
  12. My main issue with Roman was the slow play calling, and not having a 2 minute offense.
  13. I think he'd be a great fit as a QB in that smashmouth spread option stuff they do in college. Throw in some perimeter screens, and bring some tempo. You can run zones and powers, and they won't be able to crowd the line. If they do you can do play action, screens, and vertical concepts. It's a lot of isolating matchups and picking on the same people over and over again. If you bring a fast tempo, the other team won't be able to sub in/out and will be forced to adapt on the fly. It's not ideal - but i think we'd probably score more points than we have been. We'd need to be constantly adding speed at WR, as well as RB.
  14. Do we need another Tackle? We have 4 and only have 3 active on Sundays. I'd argue bring up the backup center and see if Groy can start at RG...
  15. I don't feel great about this game... but i also haven't felt good about a game since the beatdown by New Orleans. I thought maybe the jets was a thursday night fluke - all the fumbles and such. Who knows... but i'll be watchin!
  16. Yeah - however theres a catch-22 that if he wasn't healthy... we would've had no offers. and that 5th year option is guaranteed for injury. I'm convinced our team doctors are terrible.
  17. I'm fine with keeping him another year... We can move him or dawkins to the right, and prevents us having to fill another hole.
