  1. We had the same QB in 2016 and were better in pretty much every statistical category.
  2. Scout the hell out of the top 4 - if the top 2 are out at 1/2, and you love 3. Make it happen.
  3. Lorax is 3 mil on an expiring deal - i'd keep him even if he just played teams and depth. He's a locker room leader and was a special teams ace before the last 2 years. I wouldn't cut benjamin as he has trade value if you wanted to dump him (i think they like him a lot though). He's also under contract this year for a pretty reasonable 8 million. Cutting dimarco saves us 500k, not sure we need to do that if we want to carry a FB. Holmes/ducasse/washington are all cut candidates should they be replaced as they're fringe players anyway. Cordy's tough to trade after ending the year on IR - he's likely a cut candidate in 2019 if he has another injury year. Hughes is the only pass rusher on the team that's any good - so I doubt that they move him. Half a mil signing bonus - http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/lorenzo-alexander-2773/ We're already rolling 18 mil in dead cap this year and only carried over 11... so we're -7 million in the hole before free agency even opens. I don't look at this like a team who's going to be cutting and signing people like mad. Likely make a play for a QB, and do some dumpster diving again. They're trying to get out from under a number of bad contracts in Dareus, Glenn, Tyrod, Clay
  4. Most of our cap casualties are already on the books. We already have an 18 million dead cap number. Tyrod saves us like 10 million if we cut him or trade him. The roster bonus of 6 mil plus the 10 mil base means he's unlikely to be traded unless for pennies, and would likely need his deal re-done. He knows he'll never suit up here under his current deal. If he projects as a high end backup (which i think he does when you watch Cassel, Foles, Schaub, Hoyer etc) - then that would put him in the 6 to maybe 8 mil top end per year range. Foles got 2 years 11 million last year. I look at Tyrod and see him backing up either a younger QB, or an oft injured guy like bradford where you know you can't roll into a season with a bad backup QB. He wouldn't be a cut target, but i could see trying to move him in a trade (as he's overpaid though you're likely to get a dareus level return or worse)
  5. We'll never know how the team turned out this year if we kept him, but i don't think they planned on keeping him past 2017. We also played much better defense with Gaines than without him, so that can't be ignored either. The 2019 3rd round comp pick is not a guarantee - the 2018 2nd round pick is.
  6. I'm sure there are many - I'm at work so I'm not going to go down that road. Why are people on here so hostile when I say that he's made plays? It's possible for someone to make plays, and also not be a good fit or good starting QB.
  7. http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Cant-Miss-Play-Bills-QB-Tyrod-Taylor-rolls-out-throws-a-44-yard-bomb-to-TE-Charles-Clay/cb422d41-dab9-45b2-9619-7fac5b44995b
  8. I mean - o'leary clay and thompson all dropped pretty well thrown balls - and he had a bunch of throw aways. just a sorry group all around. Benjamins slow as molasses running on a bum knee, jones and tyrod clearly aren't on the same page, and the rest of the group is just as bad. Bad QB, Bad WRs, bad passing attack.
  9. Have to disagree. He obviously has issues - but worst in the NFL? His comp% is in line with league average, and he's made throws and plays this year that no one outside maybe russell wilson could make. And yes - i still hope we cut him.
  10. Stop just blaming taylor. There were several drops - miscues, penalties. Several missed blocks and screw ups by the protection. He had a bad game, but so did virtually everyone else.
  11. This happens a lot in soccer actually. If proven, he should be suspended - simple as that.
  12. Thats all well and good. I don't think it was a terrible call to throw. It's Benjamins fault that he got OPI. Not Dennison or Tyrod.
  13. Just get YOUR guy. If they like darnold, get him. I don't want to trade up for like our 4th best QB on the board. Figure we moved from 10 to 27 for an extra pick (we expected to be in the 20 range). So we have 2 picks in 2018 in the 20 range. That may be enough for 10ish. Now if we throw in a 2019 1st we have the ability to move to maybe #4 in front of a denver or NYJ - assuming the #1 overall pick isn't for sale (i think it is).
  14. Unders only 39 too... so i think we're expected to score what like 3 points here?
  15. I mean - 20 of 55 sacks were in 2 10-sack games against HOU week 1 and IND in week 7. Considering they played them both two more times... they got 28 of 55 sacks in 4 games against HOU and IND. They're a good... even a great defense. But they are not as good as numbers indicate.
  16. They def beat up on the cupcakes. However they did beat pitt and should have beaten the Rams. When they're bottled up on O and the turnovers don't come is when they struggle.
  17. I dunno, I've been to Miami for a game and that place was like half-full. MAYBE. And they put attendance at 64800 (https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201509270mia.htm). I think its literally BS fluffed up numbers that they show to corporate sponsors. There is no real data lol.
  18. He's a captain on a playoff team... he helped lead this team to the playoffs. He also had a few pretty good games this year. Also we would need to finish with 13 wins and a tiebreaker over NE to host a playoff game. True. The other guy threw 5 picks in a half.... he's the best we got. I don't know what the argument is about here anymore - i thought we were supposed to praise a signature moment. that's the topic.
  19. I think coaching might be one of the few areas that we are relative equals in. Neither has ever been coached a team in the playoffs before. Both have been assistants for teams that were in the playoffs though. Both coaches are conservative, both prefer a bend but don't break approach on defense, limiting turnovers, and running the ball to get in makeable 3rd downs. Very similar philosophies - but their team has a lot more talent. Always will come down to QB though. I don't think Tyrod is much better than Bortles, but if he has a good game we'll probably win.
  20. Do you have the play afterwards where he scrambled for the first down?
  21. We need to run the ball well and with likely tolbert as the lead back, i want to see more traps/powers. Rely on his ability to move it a bit more north/south, and less on his cutbacks. He's alright on one cut runs but he's not making a guy miss in the backfield and that seems to be the trend on our zone running scheme. Get him going with a full head of steam. This would help put us in manageable third downs. I've liked how they've gone empty on some of the 3rd and mediums as it helps open up the middle of the field, and prevent blitzes.
