He's got the goods. Quick release, gamer mentality, great arm. The pocket presence will develop in time - he had a few bail outs with penalties and luck. He'll make some mistakes here and there, but it doesn't seem like its going to phase him. Good for them. Now hopefully Josh Allen can start exhibiting some of the same stuff. Tough division. Considering 2 of KC/Den/LAC probably make it, they're probably playing for 1 wildcard in that division. Their schedule does them no favors either, as they don't get to play some of the weaker teams in the AFC, and the NFC south is pretty good so far this year. Their defense looks improved, and Mayfield was the shot in the arm that their offense needed. But they tied pitt when they probably should have won... and lost to NO when they probably should of won. A team making the playoffs off of a 0-16 season would probably need those games to go their way much like we did with tampa/atl/kc last year. Games we won in the 4th quarter.

I feel like he threw it out of bounds a ton last night, and his timing was a mess. Beyond the turnovers, he just didn't look sharp. Could just be the Thursday lack of prep, or the prime time jitters.

They had a top 5 offense with alex smith - and now currently have a top 5 offense with mahomes. They added watkins and jettisoned smith.

Its not going to be good - i see 6+ sacks. They play like exculsively man to man, and all of their guys are better than ours. Benjamin height advantage might be the only mismatch we have for back shoulder plays. They also play their linebackers really close to the line, which wil confuse whoever we have at center. Its going to be a beatdown.

Mahomes has played 2 games btw. Also Alex Smith had the highest QB rating in the NFL last year - without Watkins. Just some food for thought. Oh - and they beat the patriots and eagles to start the season.

There were also plays where no one was open. The receivers aren't good... and aren't blameless

Diggs and Thielen - 5th and UDFA. Cook in the 2nd. Rudolph in the 2nd in 2011. Keenum as a scrap heap pickup. After they had a good year they were able to bring in cousins. And have you seen evidence to support your opinion?

Well... if we fire them. Whoever we hire gets to inherit a roster with some young talent and doesn't have terrible contracts on the books anymore.

Did we have available cap room to make a competitive offer? Considering our roster vs. the other ones - one would think we would have to overpay. Once you have an idea of what they are offering, do we want to overbid even beyond that? Denver offers Elway and super bowl pedigree. Minnesotas roster is the most talented. What are we offering? The once in a lifetime chance to be a part of the bills?

Look at the Minnesota offense in zimmers first 3 years. They weren't exactly lighting it up out there.

Oliver. I think we can find a pass rusher in free agency with all that money we have. Ansah & Lawrence should be available, as will Fowler. We should try and secure one of those 3. If he has potential to be someone incredibly disruptive like donald or cox, it just makes you so hard to play against.

Honestly in week 2 the problems were communication. There was a free rusher on one. On another Logan thomas absolutely whiffed. I think at least 2 of the other 3 were on allen holding the ball.

For one - profitability. Dead money is typically some money that was paid in past seasons via signing bonuses and restructure bonuses. So by having it on this years salary cap - spending is kept down, but we still are "spending" to the cap threshold. If you're not going to be good... it's helpful to the owners that the bottom line looks ok. Two - Assets. We got a lot of picks in trades and were able to do what Whaley never could - get a QB. We were going to cut tyrod and got the 65th pick for him - and didn't have to eat any base salary. Sammy was a pending UFA, who we were unlikely to negotiate with at the time (his value was really up in the air and dependent on his performance in 2017) - and we got a 2nd round pick for him. Three - Flexibility. When you don't have cap room, you tend to not negotiate extensions for players. You then lose players in free agency. We were unable to keep hogan and gillislee because we were cap-strapped. We had to lowball their tenders, and lost them on offer sheets. Gilmore/Woods are the same kind of thing - couldn't extend them prior to losing them. Last offseason we had to bring in help at safety (google our 2016 safeties) - and that was about the only position where we brought in a top tier free agent. This season we had to address rush defense, so they went with Star (don't love the signing).

Well Beane's tearing down the mediocre roster that was assembled. We had some of the worst bloated back-loaded contracts in football and no QB when he was brought in. Clays contract works out to 5 years 38 million (already absurd) - 34 guaranteed after the 2016 restructure. He's not even good!!!

How about Hue? They still haven't won since 2016...
