  1. I think sportrac has a typo then - they list it like this $48.7M guaranteed at signing (signing bonus + 2018 salary + $7.5M of 2019 salary) Additional $9.7M of 2019 salary fully guarantees on 4/1/2019 $15.7M of 2020 salary fully guarantees on 4/1/2020 2018, 2019, & $15.7M of 2019 salary guaranteed for injury I would assume that means the 15.7 of 2020 is also injury guaranteed, as well as partially guaranteed for 2020. He'd have to miss most or all of 2018/2019 for them to consider moving him before 2021. Either way - he's looked very impressive and I'm glad he's in the NFC!
  2. No - but they built it to not ruin their cap in 2020 if he say has... injury issues or something. I can't tell if theres any injury guarantee built into his 2020 salary, but if there isn't, again they can get out of it.
  3. Huge cap hit in year 1... because they carried over a ton of cap space and could front load it. If he's brock osweiler they can get out in 2 years. Still a huge money loss, but their cap wouldn't be hugely affected. They can also boost his up front guarantee this way. I expect the jets/browns to do the same for cousins offers. 100 guaranteed with a lot of it coming as a roster bonus in 2018 so you don't have to spread it out. He's happy because he gets paid up front, and it keeps the cap numbers lower down the line. Also gives you flexibility to trade later if needed.
  4. At the same time... they're over the cap, and could use a Foles trade to add a player, as well as some cap relief.
  5. True - but they seem to be a team who values looking to the future. Signing Long, and drafting Barnett with the expectation of losing Graham or Curry.
  6. If you can get a return, cap relief and a mid pick, or a higher pick... for a backup qb who you won't re-sign in 2019... why wouldn't they consider it? Yeah, they ended up with Bradham, Graham, and Darby. Bradham is a UFA, Graham will be cut, and Darby's in year 4, and will demand gilmore money in 2019. Mills will also probably want a pretty hefty raise in 2019. But they also drafted that kid Sidney Jones who barely played, who they're hoping will fit right in. Trading foles will help them restock the cupboard and prepare for their top 2 CB's departures.
  7. Well they added bradford, then drafted wentz, and then moved bradford and got back a lot of what they traded to get to Wentz. They also purged like all their bad contracts in 2016, so they were able to extend and sign players in 2017.
  8. Philly could trade foles for picks (as of now they only have 1 pick in the first 100), and then sign someone else. As nice as it is to have a solid backup, he's not the QB of the future, and you may as well get something back for a guy who they will lose in free agency next season. They're right up at the cap so they'll have to cut some people, but getting a Glennon or Mccown could be good to bridge until Wentz returns.
  9. I mean - he hasn't had a combine/pro day yet. He barely played in the senior bowl... Could easily fade to middle of the first considering he's short, and his arm is probably among the worst in the top 5 QBs. Oh believe me - I'm all about getting the right QB early. I have low expectations for whomever we end up with too, at least in year 1. I don't expect us to grab WRs and to really set someone up for a huge year.
  10. But if the Giants say pass on a QB at 2, they could very well jump us in the first with say a 2019 first and their 2018 second, and still draft ahead of us.
  11. Yeah - its just hard drafting where we are to like... say that that is the plan. People will jump us at 20, so we're basically forced to trade up.
  12. How do their playoff numbers stack up? Or the fact that you're using raw numbers despite the increased attempts for cousins vs smith. 45 extra attempts for cousins in 2017, and 51 additional yards. Cousins comp% went down for the 2nd straight year. Smiths had an INT% under 2% for 5 straight seasons, Cousins never has. Cousins led the league in sack yardage last year.
  13. I honestly think Cousins is no longer an option. We don't have the cap space to make it work without gutting the team.
  14. Foles will cost you something, while cousins doesn't. But you also get to try before you buy with foles, at an affordable 2018 cap hit. McCown definitely signals that you plan to get a QB though, so we'll definitely have to trade up.
  15. Yeah - thats a good point. If the Jets sign Cousins i think they drop McCown too. He's not a viable starting option, but he'd be a solid backup if we drafted someone. Glennon also probably gets shipped out.
  16. I think if he makes it past 6, he's got to be at least in play. Depends who they like though. 21+22 for pick 9 with SF might do it.
  17. Cousins goes to one of them. Giants may not draft one, as they could love barkley, or trade down to address other holes (terrible O-line). Cardinals pick at 15, which is much easier to jump than 5 or whatever - and they also have tons of holes and are a solid candidate to bottom out. There's also Bradford, Keenum, Bridgewater, McCarron available. As well as Allen, Jackson, Rosen, and Darnold. There's always a chance he falls more than people think. He's a tad over 6', which will turn some people off. He's had some issues. I don't think we're willing to trade up to like 2 or 3, but i think like 9, or 10 might be in play if we like a certain guy.
  18. Great QBs are able to play for soooo long. There just aren't tons of examples of running backs playing for 15-20 years. I don't care where you draft the guy, or sign the guy or whatever. Just get it right.
  19. He's like Jordan at this point. His contract is still a huge amount of money, but when you add in his endorsement money he's probably just as high as anyone else.
  20. Right...? Tyrod is drafted by Baltimore... Barely plays for them. Then plays like 40 games for buffalo. How is that a hit? I guess from the perspective of "productive NFL player in the 6th round" then yes, he's a hit. And he's missed what the last 20 games for Miami?
  21. Winston at least seems to have some upside still. He's just burning through the cheap part of his contract with nothing to show for it.
  22. Yeah, I would agree. Also - i think Mariota is kind of bad. For a #2 pick i expect something better than Tyrod Taylor. Tannehill is the definition of meh. Winston doesn't impress me.
  23. I wouldn't consider Fitz or Taylor as hits - because their success was not with the team who drafted them.
