  1. We have 8 picks. Assuming we maneuver to get a QB, we might end up having to move down just to get to like 5 or 6 picks. We have pressing needs outside of backup running back. Whos taking the snaps? Whos snapping him the ball? Who's playing RG and RT? Who's starting at both DT spots? What about LBs? I know some of this will be addressed in FA, but we're still going into the draft needing a considerable amount of stuff. If there's a value play with say a 4th or 5th rounder, pull the trigger, but I don't think we need a RB in the 2nd. Yeah - seems like an overpay. They must be really looking for comp picks in 2019... which means they plan to move some of those picks in 2018....
  2. Jeffery took a 1yr deal with Philly for 9.5 million in 2017. Also had injury problems, but was a big-time red zone target for a young QB. Any team with a young QB and missing a #1 will probably target him. Throw JAX, KC, DET, even maybe dallas if they walk from Dez, or ZONA depending on who they get into the mix. Maybe baltimore. Teams are always looking for speed at receiver.
  3. The draft is like a month and a half after free agency opens.
  4. I don't think anyone will give up that much for him, so either lower the asking price, or take your 2020 comp pick i guess. Yeah, but you lose assets trading for him. Keenum costs you nothing from a draft pick stand point, except maybe a comp pick if you qualify.
  5. Foles only has 1 year left of cost-control, then he gets his huge raise. Foles also won't get traded unless Philly has some sort of contingency plan in place. Wentz might not be ready for camp/preseason so you need to have someone else.
  6. Watt and Donald maybe? But they were already like.. top prospect guys coming out.
  7. Yeah i looked at Barkleys combine and thought... meh? He already looked fantastic on film and was a consensus top RB, and possible top 10/top 5 guy. In his case, the combine could lower his value if he performed poorly, but he was already a fantastic prospect.
  8. I don't think there's a single scout out there who has 3 guys tied at the top of the list. If they love Allen, someone else might love him more and trade up at 3. Then you end up with a guy you don't like as much. It's the most important position on the field... you have to endlessly scout and interview these guys. It's about fit as much as anything else.
  9. I mean... trading 4 and like a 4th for 21, 2 2nd's, and some picks in 2019 would be a pretty solid haul. if you can get 6 picks in the first 100 between 2018 and 2019 that's a lot of players. And they will still get their QB at 1. They are in a good spot for drafting purposes... but when you go 0-16 that means player development, and draft strategy in the last 3-5 years has been incredibly poor. Many of the players picked in that time frame have to be replaced.
  10. He's either tagged, or going somewhere where he'll get his targets. I think he wants to win, but he also wants to be paid #1 money and get #1 targets. SF seems like a good spot. Maybe the Jets if they add Cousins. Dallas if they dump dez.
  11. Kizer completed 53% of his passes and threw 22 ints. But the fact that they lost EVERY game, is an indicator that they aren't a QB away. They need to address that position, but they need to stock up on picks too. New GM who may want to get rid of some of the previous regime's guys as well. Good point. Either way - Position needs an upgrade, and trading back from 4 to get a bunch of players may be in their best interest in adding talent to a team that has won 1 game in 2 years.
  12. Truly sucks for the kid.. From a selfish fan perspective - I think he's off the table in round 1, which is good. Not a big fan of a first round center unless its late in the first. I'm fine with him later in the draft, just not in round 1. Our o-line isn't great by any means.. but the holes at d-line, LB, and QB loom very large at the moment.
  13. Austin for EJ/Kiko - then kiko for Shady. Essentially we traded austin for shady.
  14. Kizer and Kessler are just terrible though, and they won 0 games last year... need oline help, defensive backs, running backs. You don't win 0 games unless u have tons of holes.
  15. Should be interesting to see... Daboll has been handcuffed with some pretty lousy QBs so I think he'll definitely want to get that position right this time. Another running back will likely be on the short list - but i think they want someone who can catch and line up in multiple positions.
  16. I'm not sure how Stewart fits in a Daboll offense. Seems to value some level of versatility. We'll see though.
  17. Had a gaudy 77 yards on 28 carries against our very own buffalo bills.
  18. Brown had a lot of issues with zone coverage this year. I just seem to remember constantly being either too deep or too shallow and getting beat at the sticks on 3rd and long.
  19. He's familiar with Beane and McD so I wouldn't rule it out. Peterson was about the same age and got 2 years 7 million 2.5 guaranteed. Peterson was also a much better player before age 31. I don't think we'd offer 2 years, or a guarantee of much at all. Gillislee was too rich at 2 years 6.4 million (frontloaded to a 4 million cap hit). Its a backup running back, who doesn't catch the ball out of the backfield. So it's hard to value him much at all without some versatility. Not sure how he fits here.
  20. I mean... the worst QB performance I've EVER seen at ANY level... was against the Chargers. I'm sure there's someone else... right? I'd rather have Gabbert than peterman starting.
  21. At his pro day he chooses who the receiver is. Most good prospects look better at their pro days anyway, as its much more favorable conditions. He'll have time to practice with his own guys. Not be judged on his ability to throw to a guy he may literally have never met.
