  1. He was an absolute nightmare when under pressure. He doesn't have great arm strength, but he seems to understand the game. He's deceptively athletic. Gets the ball out on time. Between throwing up ducks when hes under pressure, and smart corners baiting him into throws because he locks onto a target... I don't think he's starting material.
  2. Well we only get like - what 10 minutes to make it happen? Pre-draft trades always look like rip-offs vs. ones that occur during the draft.
  3. fleeced seems like an overstatement. We got 27 a 2017 3rd and a 2018 first. Cleveland got 25 and a 2018 first for pick 12. It only looks better because Houston absolutely bottomed out. Tre White so far has also looked like a better player at 27 than Peppers at 25.
  4. He scouted them, he should get credit - especially for Milano considering he wasn't at the senior bowl. I just think McD wanted to pick people he worked with/got along with the best.
  5. We got our guy anyway. Petermannnnnn! Gotta remember - McDermott looks at it like... the extra 1st next year is talent evaluated by the new GM and scouting staff
  6. McDermott isn't qualified to make an evaluation about whether a Quarterback is the real deal or not. The scouting reports still came from Whaley and his scouts. McDermott targeted seniors, and mostly guys he watched met, and watched practice and play during the senior bowl.
  7. The real question is whether you felt whaley was qualified to make that decision.
  8. If QBs go 1/2/3, i could see it, but if barkley sneaks in it'll change things.
  9. Yeah - I personally think Jackson might end up going higher than people think. Arm talents wonderful and all, but I think you can build a really unique offense around his skillsets.
  10. All i did was say it's not crazy to say. Draft pundits are wrong... a lot. Sometimes people have a lot more disparity on a josh allen/baker mayfield than what the news people say. Also - sometimes people value a top prospect more than adding a 3rd to move down a few picks.
  11. Why is that crazy? NYG need O-line and could trade back, Denver needs help on D, Colts need everything BUT QB, then it goes bucs bears 49ers raiders - none of which need a QB.
  12. He was picked at 24, not 3. They sat him behind Favre, not AJ McCarron.
  13. I don't like a QB that needs 2 years. Some of those projects just never work and you're using a ton of draft capital, as well as burning through all the cheap years on his contract.
  14. Yeah - that wood injury thing kinda stings extra when you look at his bonus money, and the fact that his 2018 salary is guaranteed for injury.
  15. They can still move down if someone falls there though. They could end up with Chubb at 6 instead of 3 (getting the guy they wanted), and added 3 2nd round picks. Or they can move down with someone like Buffalo and net even more stuff. They might have had a better offer as things got closer to the draft, but who knows. Buffalo might pull their trade offer if the guy they want is gone or something.
  16. I mean... he's fitting in alright as a rotational linebacker in a 3-4 defense. He just didn't fit what we needed of him in this defense.
  17. Annual roll-over. If you're 30 mil under the cap in 2018 then ur cap bumps up 30 mil in 2019. Your 2018 cap number has non bearing on your cap space in 2020 though. Yeah i think we only have like 3 corners on the roster. only the top 51 count against the salary cap. UDFA's probably don't even count towards the cap. A lot of the borderline roster players have no bearing on salary cap if cut as well.
  18. Yeah - I think we brought in a bunch of young guys to hopefully take the next step. I think he'll still be a starter though.
  19. These stats are kinda confusing... https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/dl Looks like they ran at him less than the other side, and ran more effectively to the other side as well. He also seems to still generate pressure whether they were sacks or not.
  20. We have a ton of dead money this year already, and his cap hit doubles if we trade him/release him. Murphy only took 60% of snaps in his best year 2016. Having Lorax, Shaq, and Yarbrough gives us depth for injuries, as well as rotation to keep the best pass rushers on the field.
  21. I think they're being realistic. Lot of picks likely go into bringing in a QB, so its going to be tough to use one of the remaining ones on a depth running back who doesn't play special teams. They brought in Ivory to bridge at least 1 more year until they draft someone.
  22. Yep - http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/03/16/report-bills-to-re-sign-travaris-cadet-to-one-year-deal/
  23. Bringing back KW, having poyer/hyde, bringing in a guy like Murphy.. You're adding defensive leaders. Who's leading the O?
  24. yeah - but those aren't always going to be the keuchleys of the world. I want a real RT so we can cut mills. He stinks. That's as big a hole as MLB where there isn't even a current starter. I'd like to add some speed at WR and LB. DT they seem to be rolling with Vet's for now, and maybe add a late round flyer for rotational depth.
  25. This is the year of the QB. Next year i think we'll try to add more playmakers on both sides of the ball in both FA and the draft. You draft your guy, you take your lumps, you evaluate for 2019. If we make the playoffs or something? Gravy. But They can't say they expect it when they're drafting a QB and starting him right away.
