Bills need to learn how to close out games
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They did a good job getting to the FG at the end there, but another first down and that FG is most likely the game - or at least overtime. Depending on how hauschka was feeling too, maybe go for that 4th and 8 if he's dinged up from the cheap shot. -
Week 14, 2017 - The Snow Game. Where were you?

My wife never watches football with me, but she was fascinated watching that game. -
He wasn't without his faults. Too many formations, too many plays, it always seemed like the plays were getting in super late which leads to penalties. And before you blame Tyrod, he had that problem with Alex Smith and CK in SF. Dabolls units have had penalties in pre-snap but they seem to have mostly cleaned that up. The O-line has been brutal with penalties recently though.

Steelers Fan Keeping it Classy

It's a football game.. and you aren't even playing! You have no bearing on the end result of the game, nor should the end result have any bearing on your needing to fight opposing fans. -
Just saying - they keep opening this guys feet up. It's becoming a serious problem. He has talent for sure, but he's the 3rd best option on that team at the moment. 2 games with over 100 yards this year, and 3 total TDs. On an offense that is scoring an insane number of points. I wouldn't say he's having a "good" year at all.

When McD mentions the LOS in every presser I think they are both very aware. As for draft - we aren't loaded with tons of talent at any position really other than maybe LB and Safety. BPA if its a DT, DE, OT, WR - they need talent across the board. I would hate reaching for something just because we missed in free agency. It's a process right? I'd like to see a pass rusher added to the group. If the top OL is off the board and a premier DT/DE is available in the draft i say go for it.

They traded for him during a playoff race when our receivers were really banged up. He ended up tearing his meniscus in like his 2nd game here and came back and continued to play sparingly. This season was supposed to be his chance to go through camp - be the number 1. He has been nothing short of worthless. We shot a shot to try and get to the playoffs (we did but he had little to do with it, maybe that TD against Indy in the snow game) - We also had a pick surplus from the Watkins, Darby, Ragland, & Dareus trades. Considering they ended up moving Tyrods last year, and Glenn as well the lost pick isn't exactly hamstringing our draft. Bryce brown was just - a bad player evaluation in the offseason. Either way, neither worked out. a 7th round pick for coleman isn't really worth anything... it was training camp and they knew our WR room was bad. Try and improve it As for Watkins - 40 for 500 and 3 isn't exactly a high level (hes a top 10 paid WR). He's also been having foot issues all season, and his cap hit triples in 2019. They can't even dump him on this deal because they guaranteed so much. The only way to lessen the cap hit would be to extend him, and no one would do that when he missed time every year with a foot soreness issue. If the foot issue continues it could be one of the worst contracts in football.

I just wonder whether teams are able to criticize the officiating - like submit film from the previous game showing all the calls they missed etc. A ref who tells Allen to quit whining/crying, and another who calls Hughes a name - like... its clear they weren't interested in calling this game down the middle.

Why is the punter the holder?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to NakedSquid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good point - the likelihood of injury for all non-punters is like 1000% higher. And QBs get hurt pretty frequently too. Blocking in the back is like... so common its stunning. If we literally did nothing except fair catch everything, we'd probably have a better punt return unit than we have had over the last few years. -

I would think you could use any mostly dedicated teams player/returner. Logan thomas already helped execute a fake punt - he's athletic enough to run around and buy time, and has a good arm. I guess it would take away some reps though?
