  1. Every team in the league still has at least 20% of their plays under center. Under center helps with the run game, creates space with PA, and slows pass rush with cadence changes.
  2. Logan Thomas also had a big frame and a cannon, and he went in the 4th. The issues with delivery, accuracy, eyes - they take a long time to develop if at all. Allen has platform problems, and accuracy issues because of it. His delivery is actually a strength, and his eyes have developed much more quickly than I thought they would. If he can clean up the platform then he should be a solid QB. I think buffalo also liked Allen's brain a lot - you can't really teach that. Yeah - teams walk away from those guys all the time so then you end up bouncing around the league. If you aren't a particularly hard worker/film guy you're probably going to flame out.
  3. Love watching the team in stadium. Just a great feeling to see them win in person.
  4. Yep - when we had roman we ran a ton out of shotgun. When you do that read-option makes it difficult to know what side you're running to, but if you load the box and have speed it doesn't matter as they can beat you to the outside. If they take away the sidelines like that - you must use the middle of the field, and you must use more timing routes. Tyrod sucked at both of these. You also will probably want to run more from under center and use play action to create space. I thought for sure after the disaster series to start the 4th quarter.
  5. Has to go over the top - has to stand tall in the pocket - has to take what they give him. In a situation like that if I'm calling the game i know its going to be lots of zone so i probably line up tight and overload on sideline routes. Timing also has to be precise on the dig and hitch routes. I'd also use 12 formations and try and run in heavy sets and use PA. Passing is going to need to come from the pocket. We tried a lot of these things with Tyrod in these types of games and he always struggled with timing and hitting people as soon as they get open out of breaks. He always seemed to throw the deep over's out of bounds too... in a quarters level's situation that route will be open a lot but if you're late you end up throwing your guy out of bounds.
  6. Well they got by using his legs less for scrambling but for designed runs. Once that was taken away he struggled. The nasty pass rush of LA didn't help matters.
  7. "he only had 9 pass attempts in the first 3 quarters" - because he was sacked 5 times and fumbled twice. That would make 14 pass plays. He also missed converting on some short 3rd downs in the first 3 quarters. And the first drive of the 4th quarter - the MUST have if you want to have a shot at not needing tons of onside kicks. 3 pass plays called, -9 yards.
  8. Can't be slower than Benjamin and his bum knee
  9. His QB purgatory comment was the one that got me. You can move up or down in the draft. Most of the teams picking 1 or 2 over the past few years have traded there.
  10. Yep - only way it works is if a QB falls or something.
  11. I looked it up and its a 25 yard TD - but i don't remember where he caught it... didn't think it was at the 5 but i guess its possible?
  12. This throw was in the first meeting so it should be there? He like rifled it over the middle and zay caught it at like the 3 and dove in.
  13. That zay jones TD against miami in the first meeting was deep middle - Must have been just short of 20 yards in the air?
  14. Knock on JuJu coming out was speed, didn't seem to have enough coming out of his breaks. Interested to see how he does if they actually do trade AB. Coming out AB was a highly productive undersized receiver who lacked physicality. I think it may also have something to do with developing receivers, not just scouting them.
  15. Honestly looks a lot better than what we got. I'd probably be willing to hedge a bet that they may also draft a depth player in rounds 3-5. The guys at number 5 should have to work their asses off to keep a job.
  16. Depends how FA goes obviously - but we are in dire need of interior Oline help. He's struggled to pass protect more than anything else. He's a UFA though and i wouldn't really pay him much.
  17. Ah - he's probably fine with it too. Toxic team down there.
  18. Can they void the bonus money and keep him?? That doesn't really make sense. I could see them maybe getting out of the bonus money if they release him maybe? It's a fully guaranteed contract and he was docked game checks for every game he missed due to suspensions. Fournette's never really had production - his career rush average is sub 4.0.
  19. We had a pretty bad RZ defense. That and losing the turnover battle will kill you.
  20. Agreed - i do appreciate them trying to improve the team mid-season though. They made decisions that holmes and benjamin weren't going to be here next year, and weren't getting it done. So bring in new people. Grabbing mckenzie off a PS, and scooping phillips off the scrap heap were both solid moves bringing in contributors and/or building blocks.
  21. I heard he's just good at everything. Scratch bowler, can dunk, excellent swimmer, crushes baseballs etc.
  22. I think he's the best tight end on the roster
  23. I feel like we shouldn't kick the rest of the way at this point
