I think lining up opposite RT's should be a factor too. Bruce lined up opposite Left tackles. Typically in a 3-4 he may line up between guard and tackle, and you're likely more subject to double teams as the 4th rusher can come from the other side. This is an era of pretty conventional line up football too. Teams ran a lot, had 21 personnel a lot etc. However, i do recall Bruce lining up with tackles more often than not so they may just have shaded the line to his side some, freeing up talley to make plays and allowing you to line up bennett closer to the line.

Apples and oranges ... Both had 8 first team all-pro selections, and both had 2 DPOY selections. White had some of the flashier pass rushing seasons, but honestly its like 1A, 1B. They also played on different sides - Smith rushed against LTs and White rushed against RTs. One in a 3-4, another in a 4-3.

Just on the teams front - punter should be better.. schmidt and co. were worse than bojorquez. Hauschka is back. Huge upgrade at returner with Roberts at both KR and PR. Core team's players in general were all over the place. Senorise perry has a legit spot to make this team in place of yeldon or dimarco IMO. Backup safeties and corners need to be able to contribute snaps on special teams as well. Biggest change - no crossman. New guy has his work cut out for him... but he's not crossman so he's probably an upgrade.

Gunner's Roster Thread 2019

I could see that - even with feliciano in the starting lineup you have a basically solid 6th guy in ford who can play as an extra blocker, and guard and tackle. -

Well i mean if the starting 5 is Dawkins - Spain - Morse - Ford - Nsehke Long/Bodine sticks as the active swing guard/backup center on gamedays, and you can honestly bring in feliciano because ford theoretically functions as a swing tackle if the starting tackles go down mid-game. They have a few options for the last 2. Depnds how much they like teller, and Wesley/Boettger. -

They kept 9 last year - i would think you keep 4 tackles and 5 interior. Ford may be a tackle, but he may also start at guard - to me that would make waddle a lock. -

Wow - that Favre record really is going to be unbreakable. Like Nolan Ryan's walk record. Also - Favre is the most sacked QB of all time. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_sacked_career.htm, and leads all QBs in fumbles - https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/fumbles_career.htm -
I mean - what are the things they would want? It feels like they barely practice as it is currently, so i'm not sure how much they can scale that back. More retirement benefits? Better insurance for life after football? Better salary minimums? The cap is structured around the revenue splits - they have a salary floor (barely) so teams can't tank salaries for a year. The only thing i can think is the franchise tag - but the owners like the tag. Getting rid of that you have to give something back like UFA status after 4 years for example. 2nd/3rd rounders would then be RFAs for a year or something, or you would expand 5th year options to those players as well.

Buffalo Bills: A potential breakout rookie in 2019

yeah - just a thought for how he could see the field on defense. Coverage situations etc. I suppose he could also push for playing time in a big nickel with bush. -

If anything he may take some of edmunds snaps in sub packages, and hopefully can be a solid teams contributor. -
Not at all a big deal for a lot of positions honestly. From evaluating the NFL talent you can look at it and say - how many RBs/WRs/CBs etc. just straight up blow this off because they know it has 0 effect on them being drafted. So that might skew data somewhat. I don't think its super important for QBs either, but a 13 is a pretty terrible score. You'd like to be somewhere near average at least. Can't be a dumb QB in this league anymore. He's hard to understand honestly

Buffalo won the game... That's kind of the important part -

I'll agree to a point. There is no way you can argue we were in a good cap situation in 2017. Clays deal at 9 mil, cordy glenn getting paid a ton to play half a year. Not good deals. Dareus may have had a top 5 bad contract in the NFL in 2017. None of those guys are all-pros, or even pro-bowlers - and they're like 3 of the top 6-7 paid players on your team. He inherited a mediocre team of overpaid players. He made moves to get the team in a healthier cap situation so that they can comfortably decide who to extend, and have some foresight into how much and when to give out those contracts. Could we have signed gilmore in 2017? Probably - but then its unlikely that you find hyde and poyer. We also had the Tyrod contract looming large at the time. Another little doug whaley gift. -

They all made QB moves - Bledsoe, Losman, Edwards, Fitz extension, EJ, Tyrod extension.... It always comes back to that anyway. Beane made the moves necessary to get Allen. If Allen works out - most of the rest won't matter as much. If not - he's going to have to build something special to get another chance to draft a QB. -

They weren't over the cap - they also weren't going to make any noise and had no QB. -

What you want is fewer 1st downs. You can get there with a lower 3rd down %, but generally fewer first downs will result in fewer plays. Fewer plays will result in fewer yards. Fewer yards will result in fewer points. This puts your offense on the field more trying to do the opposite. More plays, more yards, more points. Red zone execution is another important piece, but thats what i consider the basis of good defense. -

My Tight ends sucked last year. I'm so done with drafting those guys. Jimmy Graham was the one i drafted but i ended up playing Njoku just as much because graham sucks. -

I assume a 32 year old TE signing with the saints shows me he's interested in a ring. Or increasing his value for another contract by playing with a HOF QB. -

I mean - if he sits on the pup for 6 weeks, he's then available for 11 games. That would have him ready by 10/20 which is about 5 months away on an injury they say has a 3-4 month rehab.
