  1. I thought Tyler Dunne was pretty good but he never really got a chance to write more than a few articles before he left after a year of being basically an intern. He seemed to have an interesting writing style, and actually wanted to write a feature about getting to know a player (he wrote the sammy article where sammy came off selfish), not just hot takes about who to fire and why everything's on fire. His opinion's didn't come off as hating the actual team he covered. The Sammy article totally got taken out of context, and Sammy seemed to blame Tyler on twitter which wasn't fair when its guys like Rodak quoting your article and essentially claiming it as their own. They both came off that they didn't like the teams that they covered, and didn't seem to cover what was actually happening on the field/ice, so much as arguing about what what doug whaley meant when he said this and when he fired rex, or whatever. We caught you in a lie! We got you! - so what? None of it seemed to have anything to do with the actual players, the actual games, etc.
  2. My guess? He's using a meal prep service and having them prepare meals based on his new diet. That will be very expensive at probably 10 bucks a pop - as an nfl player thats probably 5 meals a day, maybe more? 50 a day = 350 a week = 1400 a month just for him and not including wife/kids. It's not crazy expensive, but it's probably some sticker shock.
  3. I mean... Logically you know the games pretty much over at that point. I'd have left him in til the half as well.
  4. Well he essentially "retired" so they owed him the bonus money. He then basically wanted to re-do his contract again it seems like so they just decided to be rid of him.
  5. Good luck getting the 3.6 million back after the repeated strange behavior.
  6. Know what you have in him - and what you have is worse than shaq and yarbrough Gotta at least try to get better at the position. Shaq sounds motivated to have a good year - but talk and production are 2 different things.
  7. I guess... Most of the teams below us had massive amounts of turnovers. Personally though, i didn't see much difference between our offense's production and like the dolphins or bengals.
  8. Regression on O? How much worse could we get? 22nd in points and 29th in yards... 3 points in our first playoff game in like 20 years. Hopefully Daboll can come up with something better than run-run-pass-punt.
  9. I mean - we hosted one of the later mini-camps this year so that makes sense. The negotiations all take place with the agents, but the players have to actually be present to sign the contracts.
  10. My hope is that Newhouse or McDermott can replace him in the starting lineup.
  11. I agree that he's not a lock. However, who's replacing him? He was legit our best player on the field in the playoff game against Jax. I'm not sure the 1.8 mil in cap savings is worth releasing a special teams contributor, and a player who can play both SAM and DE. I could see trading lawson, as cutting him costs more than keeping him. For those drawing a ragland parallel, he did start 10 games last year FWIW. Im hopeful that we cut mills TBH.
  12. He was injured in year 1 and basically missed camp. He wasn't a world beater but neither was Yarbrough or Davis. I doubt he's cut as his cap hit will more than double if released. Traded maybe, but only if they believe that they have the depth at DE to cover his loss. As for him as a player - obviously we'd all like to see more from him. But he's on a rookie contract, he's 23 years old, and there's a ton of potential there - hopefully he's motivated to get a 5th year option or raise.
  13. I believe we brought in Gaines for that spot. He's still available if we need depth at the position. We know he's not a star - hes 28 years old. You don't find stars by just settling for the mediocre DB that you had the year before.
  14. They have McCown, Bridgewater, Darnold - they still have Hack who might have trade value - but everyone knows he gets cut. Maybe he sticks til preseason game 4 just to see if you can squeeze a pick out of someone, but i don't think anyone's offering anything for the guy.
  15. It seems like they did an investigation upon them being made aware of the rumors, and after that they spoke to him about it and it seems like he was forced to resign.
  16. Dallas could just sign julius thomas or gary barnidge and not have to give anything up. They also don't have the cap room to make this work without extending clay.
  17. I want them to work harder than the guys next to him, film study - extra reps - weight room etc. I want him to have that moxie and swagger that is just infectious... you're never out of a game with this guy. I don't want there to be any inherent weaknesses to his game. It makes you so much harder to gameplan for when you can do a little bit of everything.
  18. I mean he was basically in charge from 06 on - once they fired donahoe he got a big promotion. The team's general lack of success or direction in 10+ years has to be somewhat attributed to that.
  19. I'm personally glad he's gone because of BOTH team's general lack of success during his tenure. People get fired all the time for less, and they may have been looking for a reason to get out of his contract - hence the investigation (purely speculation)
