  1. Very little cap impact by releasing Ivory -unsure of dates as he has a roster bonus and a workout bonus. If you can upgrade that 1B running back position I say go for it. If you don't have to use draft capital - even better. RBs usually come cheap. Once the Bell contract drops - it'll likely be tevin coleman as the next large contract. I do think Latavius Murray, CJ Anderson, Jay Ajayi, Mark Ingram and to a lesser extent Alex Collins, Spencer Ware, and TJ Yeldon - are better options at 1B RB than Ivory. If you had to use 3-5 mil in cap for them vs the ~3 for Ivory, I would do it.
  2. He's 24 and has averaged 1000 yards rushing over 3 years. Ivory is 31 and has 1 1000 yard season in 9. His YPC was down last year, but i wonder if the switch to Nagy's offense had something to do with that. If the price is incredibly low - I'm in. We currently have a really old core of RBs, and while we could draft one - he's a relatively known commodity. Plus shady's off the books next year (ivory likely cut this year) - so it just gives another option. I'm cool with drafting someone though - price is probably too high for Buffalo to jump in. Jets seem more logical if they end up missing out on bell, especially if they're looking to add picks from trading #3.
  3. He was paid a huge contract to be a Aaron Donald type disruption. He was paid to get after QBs, and to make plays in the run game - NOT to eat space in a 2-gap rex ryan scheme. Since his 1 all-pro year where he had 10 sacks (and subsequently got paid) - he has 8.5 sacks over 4 years. His TFL, QB hits... every aspect of his game is worse over than it was. He's still a good player - and would be a valuable member of a rotation with every team in the league. He's still quick enough to play 3T, and big enough to play NT. He isn't scheme dependent - even if his best fit is in something more 4-3, he could still play any position on the line in a 3-4 and be just fine. I still wouldn't even consider bringing him back under any circumstances. He's just not a fit with this bills team - especially with Kyle Williams no longer on the roster.
  4. Yeah 9 million isn't cheap - but the 9 million also may make the picks teams offer less valuable. It's a weak WR market though so if he gets cut he could get a solid deal - he's only 26 and hasn't missed much time to injury and has put up solid numbers in a crowded WR group. 9 million per year is honestly what he's probably looking for out of a deal. And for those saying that is entirely too much (you're not wrong) look at 2018 WR contracts for 26ish year old receivers with similar or worse production: Paul Richardson - 5/40 16.5 guaranteed Marqise Lee - 4/34 16.5 guaranteed Albert Wilson - 3/24 14.5 guaranteed Taylor Gabriel - 4/26 14 guaranteed Add 1 year and a higher cap - 9 million seems relatively in line.
  5. Has experience inside and outside - Was our leading WR last year, had 7 TDs. He seemed to get a lot better with Allen by the end of the year. Had 5 TDs in the last 5 weeks, and had a really nice game with Barkley. The only Goose egg was against Jax - and we didn't really pass much in that one.
  6. I believe it is guaranteed for injury only. They can cut him but i don't think they would be eligible for any type of comp pick compensation. Even for 9 million this guy has some value - He's not John Ross/Corey Coleman. He's averaged 60/750/6 for the last 2 years. That's a solid NFL 2nd/3rd option receiver. You could always trade a later pick and negotiate an extension as well. We have plenty of cap space though so it's not as if we couldn't make it work.
  7. Helps when your coachs are Andy Reid and Matt Nagy in year 1. And not... Marvin Lewis and company. Yeah - Tyreke hill is incredibly fast but he's also good at... catching passes.
  8. Payton brought in Brees. Miami said no because they thought the shoulder would never improve. We rolled with Losman, and then added edwards a year later. Safe to say he was right in that situation
  9. Possibly more - its a lousy TE market. Eifert who's always banged up, Jared Cook whos 32 etc. Eifert's injury history: 2014 - Dislocated elbow, missed pretty much the whole year 2015 - pinched nerve, missed 2 games - made pro bowl and injured his ankle in the pro bowl 2016 - Missed first 8 games with the ankle injury from the pro bowl - finished year on IR with a back injury (team was out of the playoffs) 2017 - Had a 2nd back surgery and missed pretty much the whole year, also had a cyst removed from his knee. 2018 - Broke his ankle in week 4 and missed the rest of the year He's played 6 games in the last 2 years and 14 total in the last 3. I don't know how you can trust this guy at all... He's never been a particularly strong blocker - hence them moving to add Vance McDonald. His scouting report makes it seem like he hasn't taken that next step - still struggles to shake man coverage, isn't polished yet. He's only what 25? So i guess there's the possibility of some improvement.
  10. James is 6'7 260 vs. croom who's a bit more like a large WR. Croom has a shot to stick but i don't think he's like guaranteed a spot. If we were to add a player like James, i would also see us going after someone in the draft. TEs get hurt a lot, and it's nice to have better depth than in the past - Clay, who is always hurt and a bunch of UDFA's basically.
  11. I mean - hes good for what... 8 full games, 2 or 3 games that he leaves after 1 play, and 5 games that he's just straight out for. Definitely worth 18 mil a year.
  12. Colts or Texans make sense too - he'd be an upgrade for both and they have cap space.
  13. Makes sense - money to burn, position of need, helps a young QB etc. He walked away from 14.5 mil, he's going for the most money someone will get him.
  14. So Gurley got 4 years 57.5 (around 14 per) with 45 guaranteed. Bell's 2 years older and didn't play for a year. Should be interesting. I'm thinking Jets...?
  15. Piggybacking - his roster bonus is due in mid march- so that's a pretty solid incentive to trade him before then. Saves 2.5 mil of cap and cash.
  16. To be fair - we probably have one of the worst playing surfaces in the NFL. The company legit has one team using their product - us. https://www.aturf.com/play-level/professional-sports/. Seems like a dated product
  17. If they do - look for Buffalo, the Jets, the dolphins - to be at the top of their list.
  18. Steelers will do everything in their power to trade him to a non-contender
  19. I'd like to see flowers, but realistically maybe Graham or Fowler. Need to add a pass rusher to rotate with the 3 we have. Trent Brown would be nice as we could move Dawkins where he's needed. Paradis or Morse would be cool - but i think there's a lot of teams looking at veteran centers. We do need to bring in a few linemen though. Not super into the TEs as Cook's the best one and he'll be 32 by the time the season starts. Would prefer seeing us grab a receiver so we're not forced to overdraft one. I would like to see BPA in the draft and go after a premier tackle we could use at 3 tech.
  20. I mean - he wrote what someone asked for an autograph... I personally think this is a non-story. The story is the clap-back from jalen ramsey... smack talker extraordinaire. Guy is afraid of contact but loves to talk a big game. He'll never win a thing with an attitude like that.
  21. I think they were pretty desperate to add anyone with talent before final cut down day so they could get a look. They already knew that WR was going to be a big problem in 2018. It was a miss, but i appreciate them shooting a shot there. No cap ramifications in 2019 and the lost pick means nothing. Just a waste of Terry's money.
  22. He's probably attended more Sabres games than most. Probably does some charity work. To live here year round as like... a wealthy celebrity - i feel like you have to like Skiing (and once you really like skiing you're probably traveling elsewhere), Hockey, Hunting, Good Food, Campfires, drinking, and country music (we only seem to get top end country acts in buffalo consistently - the music scene here kinda stinks). Maybe gambling as we have a few casinos in the area now- but like... real gambling. Just playing table games til the wee hours, none of the clubs and famous DJs etc like a vegas trip ?.
  23. Still can't blame him for trying - we gave up very little... maybe it was like a back alley deal that went along with the Tyrod deal. Like - some future considerations of us taking some money back or something.
  24. I believe he was in man with benjamin on a long completion too
