Tannehill traded to Titans
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No one's trading a first for rosen -
They're literally where we were in 2017, minus the trade chips. After we dumped darby, watkins, ragland etc - we were a foregone conclusion to finish dead last. Tyrod and the defense won a bunch of tight games, beane used the picks to get us a QB moving forward. But everyone essentially considered it the worst team in the league. We made the playoffs that year (with help, and with being blown out several times, and probably wouldn't have if we didn't have Tyrod - especially after seeing peterman/mccarron/glennon and all the other bad QBs who were available)

Now go get Duke Johnson please

I'd role with all 4 and cut dimarco. McCoys off the books in a year so it doesnt matter. -
What if Rosen Ends Up In Miami?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to RocCityRoller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His value has tanked - i would think itd be a third at this point. Not to mention you're trading from a position of weakness - people know you don't want this guy as he provides you no value to your team this year. Trading him pre-draft tells people who you're drafting, but it maximizes his value. If you trade post draft then teams know you are just dumping him. Zona has to eat some dead money if they move him - but its better to move him and not have him become a disgruntled backup where he tanks his value more than he already did with a poor rookie year. -
The depth chart guys like stanford and thompson could be upgraded. The depth behind poyer and hyde could be upgraded. We still don't really have a starting 3T DT yet. along the o-line we could use some youth other than dawkins/teller. We have 1 NFL caliber TE on the roster. We still carry a FB. We have 3 really old backs with none under contract in 2020. Our sam linebacker is 36. Not to say cut any of these guys, but we could use some young talent in depth roles. Needs come draft time - Pass rush help (Hughes and Lawson are not under contract beyond this year) - a starting caliber DT - A running back to groom - a TE - usually want a 5th corner on the 53, and improvements behind poyer/Hyde, linemen.

What if Rosen Ends Up In Miami?

If they're going Murray it makes sense to move him now to get the pick. Nyg have an extra 3rd now and it'd give them a possible building block -
What if Rosen Ends Up In Miami?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to RocCityRoller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rosen's year was rough. I only remember even seeing a few highlights at any point during the year. While Allen came back from his injury and had a few good games, and limited his sacks (7 total sacks in the last 6 games) - Rosen was sacked 45 times on the year, including 16 in the last 3 games of the season. He had 73 more attempts and a higher comp% than allen (55% which is low for his depth of target) but only 104 more yards. I think both will benefit from some new targets, and some improved offensive lines. Daboll really moved towards an offense that allen could execute towards the end of the year to build confidence and create some offense. Rosen led the worst offense in the NFL, and everyone who had anything to do with his selection and development is probably gone. He could use the change of scenery, but I'm not sure Miami would be best for him. -
KR/WR Andre Roberts (Jets) to Bills
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good addition - our returners were not good a year ago. We were forced to use Hyde as a Punt catcher at times last year. We were middle of the road to straight up bad last year at kickoff and punt returns. Returner helps special teams for sure - hopefully Hauschka can get back to form. Punter should still be looked at - Schmidt and Darr were awful, and Bojorquez was pretty inconsistent. -
so jordy, williams, brown - still need a TE and a RB but they're better than they were.

I feel like sometimes its sort of like pitchers in baseball - you pad your numbers during the year against mediocre ones, then hit .200 in the playoffs because you only get to face solid pitchers. During the regular season you get to play mediocre teams and you can just rely on talent alone. Once the playoffs roll around typically the best coaches, the best defenses are still around so its tougher to have the same impact in the stat column. QB kind of trumps everything. If you don't have one you probably stink.

Tyrod is back with Lynn
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you consider yourself a super bowl contender - and I think that they do - you want to have a higher end backup. If Rivers were to miss 4-6 games with injury (very unlikely) and you can't win at least a few of those, that could be the difference between playoffs and not. And you can't win the super bowl if you don't make the playoffs. -
sportrac doing good job updating Bills cap situation
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The cap itself is 188.2 - so any worry of dipping below a cap floor is not warranted. Allocating in the rookie pool of 10ish - we still have room to make a splashy signing and then bring in low cost players to fill out the camp roster. -
OT Ty Nsekhe (Redskins) to the Bills
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
3 oline in the top 9, and Alex smith's contract - that makes sense... -
They were actually pretty good last year too - lost 2 games in OT and another was a tie. They also played their first 2 games with Tyrod, and were 5-2 after they fired Todd Haley. Only major regression to the mean that i could see would be turnover diff - they were 2nd in the league in takeaways and that is a pretty volatile statistic. Teams aren't usually top 5 in the league in both fumble recoveries and INTs. The ball tends to bounce one way or the other. From a yardage perspective their defense was actually kind of bad - 25th in passing yards and 28th in rushing yards allowed. The improvements on offense should help offset this though - they should get more yards which = more plays which = more points.

What Bellicheat has been up to....
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They got 2 3rd round comp picks this year too. Nate Solder and Malcolm Butler. 6 picks in the first 101 in the 2019 draft. Plus likely a couple extra 3rds in 2020. -
2 firsts and a brutal contract. We also could've had Mack instead of watkins - or just stood pat and got watkins/beckham/evans without giving up the first. In any case - they missed on the QB. And we know how that worked out. Also - going 2014 solid defense into 2015 rex kinda crumbled everything that was built there.

OT Ty Nsekhe (Redskins) to the Bills
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah - look at NE's constantly evolving offensive line, lot of flex on that crew. Crazy that they lose solder - draft his replacement (and netted a pick in the 3rd round in the 2019 draft) and then some random guy steps up and they win the super bowl. Now the random guy cashes in and now they probably get a 2021 3rd rounder. And still have the 1st round pick from 2018 ready to step in. -
OT Ty Nsekhe (Redskins) to the Bills
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't see the deets on his - but if so thats smart. That'd leave the big ones as Hughes, Shady (probably not that much if anything in a comp pick game), Lawson, and maybe Jordan Phillips if he continues to produce. -
OT Ty Nsekhe (Redskins) to the Bills
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So far they have added players that they see staying for 2-4 years. I'm waiting for a 1yr contract for someone trying to reestablish value. Ansah or daryl williams fit this profile. If they flame out - not on the hook. If they don't - then we're in the comp pick game in 2020 free agenyc. -
WR John Brown (Ravens) to the Bills
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to blacklabel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do think that he struggled with the switch to jackson. Offense changed considerably. -
OT Ty Nsekhe (Redskins) to the Bills

Considering Long and Nsekhe are likely replacing Ducasse/Miller, and Mills. It's hard not to be considered somewhat of an upgrade.
