  1. Samuel got a pretty good contract - 3yr 24M. Cap hit implies we didn't boost his base salaries in years 2 and 3 to create space, which buffalo did. They used a 1st on kinkaid, a 2nd on cook, a 2nd on coleman, seem to have found something with shakir in the 5th, even davis in the 4th looks like a solid addition. Miami is paying their guys a lot because they're veterans, and tua's cap hit is still manageable.
  2. Eh, they signed Reynolds as a #2, Sutton takes a lot of targets, and they drafted Mims and Franklin in the last 2 drafts. I'd be worried tim patrick is washed if he can't make their roster - not to mention he's 31 and has no stats since 2021. ACL in 2022, then Achilles last year.
  3. I had mono when i was like 22 and it changed my palette quite a bit. I started really liking mushrooms, and certain types of fish i never had much interest in. But mustard on a hot dog or sausage is now a must, same with garbage plates when i'm in rochester.
  4. I hated mustard as a kid and my mom never got us mcdonalds and when i first had it all it tasted like was mustard. I'd begged her to go there too so i had to just power through it. I enjoy mustard now, but still not on a burger. Maybe the memory of that bad burger when i was like 9 ruined mustard on burgers.
  5. This makes no sense... he's projected to return this season AND his cap hit would make this absurdly unappealing. I personally think he does what von did and put some incentives in for next season to make some extra space. I also don't think buffalo can afford to not bring in a 3rd linebacker.
  6. Someone's getting a shot to be his replacement, potentially as early as next season. I know enough about football to say the player you saw a year ago, a week ago, isn't the same player you'll see over the course of an entire season. This applies to really anyone they got though - spector, williams, jones, morrow, whatever. Definitely sucks because healthy milano is an all-pro level disruptor and were now going to play another 12 games without him. Defense has taken a step back in talent - Safety, now LB, CB (even if white hadn't had the best year last year, he was really rounding into form when he got hurt again). Players either have to step up and keep this train moving, or expect to be replaced in the draft or free agency in a year.
  7. Yeah... like no one is poaching this guy unless they are utterly desperate. On the PS he's likely an excellent scout team QB.
  8. Because its camp, and i want a guy who throws catchable passes so i can evaluate depth. If i have some UDFA who throws high or low or misses constantly, it hurts everyone around him.
  9. I mean... cincy we ran play action... allen pump faked and walked into the end zone. That was a pass play, but doesn't meet this EPA formula. He has 5 picks inside 10 yards in the last 3 years. Considering how few pass plays you run in that area? That probably kills it since every one of those is... a minimum -3, if not more considering down and distance.
  10. Lamb gets to wait for another holdouts contract to likely drop too. Jerry is negotiating against himself, and without him they have among the worst groups of WRs in the league.
  11. I say do it... the probability of beating lyles is basically 0, and the probability of tweaking his hamstring is... greater than 0.
  12. Where were you at the start of Milano watch 2024?
  13. Not really. Going to be hard to win a job as a rookie missing a ton of preseason and practice. Likely only sees the field if they're out of it the last 6 weeks, or darnold gets hurt after he returns. Possible if darnold struggles they could put him in, but it depends on length of time he's rehabbing - and whether there's an increased chance of re-injury. He's going to miss a lot of practice time so even when he comes back there will be a lot of catch-up.
  14. I'd say its hard to make a commitment now, when you have a lot of time to cut down day. Things could and probably will change.
  15. Things i don't like about hall - I suppose this is fantasy perspective and football 1 - With a 4.5 YPA that leads me to believe he is a home run hitter. He also only had 6 games above 4.5 YPA. 2 of those games had 10 or fewer carries. Lowest success% of all top 20 running backs - success defined by first downs - 40% on first down, 60% on second down, 100% on 3rd/4th 2 - With an increased workload, i just feel like he's going to get hurt. NYJ adding two RBs in the draft confirms they also probably have the same fear. 3 - His head coach is not good. His offensive coordinator might be worst in the league. The entire season hinges on keeping Rodgers healthy, but they just don't have depth across the roster. Reddick not reporting is a huge hole and totally screws with their rotation. They might start off hot but they miss the playoffs next year. I'm sure Hall has a fine year but i don't think anyone will be calling him the best RB in football. Too much Jets stuff still to come.
  16. Philly accelerated his void dead money charge up one year by trading him. His combined cap hits the last 2 years - 10.8M. Despite being paid 32.25M in cash, which leaves them the dead money of 21.5 this year. If they kept him (and he played) - its a full 3yr 45M, and a lot of that 21.5 goes into 2025 when the void years trigger. Considering they signed huff to replace him, and sweats deal technically voids after this year (they reduced his cap hit to 8M and a 16M void year that likely requires an extension to avoid), it's just re-doing the unit and trying to balance the books for the future. The way they structure their deals you have to be proactive in it.
  17. They traded for him because he was a cap dump - Philly backloaded his deal and his cap hit was very large this year so it was trade or cut. Essentially the same reason buffalo traded diggs. Houston re-did the deal to make him a UFA faster, but they acquired his remaining years and base salary/workout/roster bonuses.
  18. I think they're looking at removing hits from the game that result in head injuries and blindside hits that can result in long-term pain and suffering. I have a lot more issues with... policing bad hits (do you eject more players?, the fine's for some of these are egregious for some, soft for others, etc.), and officiating things like roughing the passer and late hits on slides. Kickoffs on the other hand sucked in the 90s, they sucked in the 00s, they continued to suck, and honestly this new rule change might be just what they need to change it up - but i'm still mostly expecting it to suck.
  19. QB competitions are never particularly good for a locker room. Purdy was playing really well, and to me had earned the starting job. You bring in darnold to compete to back-up because purdy is so cheap, and you can move either lance or darnold depending on what teams are looking for. Lance hasn't played a game since getting hurt week 2 2022. Week 1 his stats stunk but if i remember correctly there were bears players gliding through puddles after the win. Not likely a ton of positive film comes out from that type of game. Same time - if you can't beat out cooper rush, i'm not sure where that leaves you. He'll get a job next year but i can't imagine its for much money/term, and is likely a flier for a team with someone old/washed, moreso than a team looking for a steady hand should their guy get hurt.
  20. It changed when kickers could boot it out of the end zone almost every play. So they moved it back from the 40 to the 35. Then the 35 to the 30. Then back up to the 35 to reduce returning again. They banned wedges, because that is where they probably identified that massive collisions were occurring on every returned kick. The purpose is safety, and to create a football play that is more entertaining than a touchback - but less likely to result in injuries.
  21. Buffalo looked fine on the 2nd drive, then QB1 came out and they didn't score. KC lost their new #1 WR to an injury that will probably force him to miss actual game time, while also missing a ton of valuable practice time. I also think they didn't exactly game plan to stop the bears. No blitzing, no disguising, nothing but guys getting their feet wet. Offensively it looked like the timing was off on snaps and pulling blocks, and just generally the offensive line didn't have a good day. Nothing about any of this is that important as they know there are a lot of things to work on at this point in camp. You put reps on film, and you evaluate. Is this a bad play or formation? Should QB2 have made an alert call here? Who was late coming off the snap, why? Who missed a gap assignment? Why? etc.
  22. Still had a better career than zay jones... In any case. He wasn't a burner out of college, and i cant imagine bum knees are helping. Kupp was the choice there though.
  23. Mahomes 12-1 Den 10-2 LV 8-2 LAC Denver did hold him to 28 points across two games in 2023 and won one. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/202310290den.htm
  24. I think because of his contract - cutting Mitch and adding milton would actually have a negative impact on the salary cap. As a post June cut he'd have a dead money number of 1.96M vs. 2M for keeping him. You'd then have the rookies number on top of that, assuming you win the waiver claim over other teams. If you trade him you'd get out of the 1.2M base salary number. In any case, i think they liked mitch enough to bring him back after his 2 year stint in pittsburgh. It's hard to project how he'd perform here, and his value was cratered after playing in one of the worst offenses in the league. He's not without blame, but that team in 2 years had a really bad offensive line, and really bad coaching. Say what you want about Mitch, but the bears were 29-21 in games that he started. His numbers there are pretty much league average across the board. 64% comp%, 4.1% td rate, and 2.3% int rate are pretty much all league average.
  25. We do not have a spot on the 53 man roster for a 3rd QB.
